  1. I'm not saying they should try and lose but there have been some recent UND teams that seemed to run out of steam.

I really get what you’re saying…. And in theory I agree we have come up short and run out of steam in the NCAA’s , my problem with this squad is it seems like they already take chunks of games off, up until now it’s worked but now when things are real they need to play hard every shift every period of  every game and put the best training facility in the country to the test

  2. These guys don't want to lose any games. They play to win EVERY night.

    ^^^^^this^^^^

Sweep here, then on to the Target Center only acceptable loss would be in the NCHC final to allow a team not in the top 16 to win and hopefully knock the Rodents out of the tourney….that would be the “only” acceptable loss IMO

This series and opening Regionals against AHA school will be our “off” days everything thing else pedal to the metal

  3. I hope Mac's injury is deep thigh bruise and not knee related. ...two possibilities from watching him on the ice after the game, one: it's not that bad, or two: it's season ending and no more damage can be done. I'm leaning towards the first one since I didn't notice any type of large stabilizing brace common with ACL/MCL injuries.

Another thing I feel is the officiating has been so horrible this season that hopefully it is preparing us for the NC$$ run, as it always seems other conference refs struggle with UND's style of play. ...this year it really can't get much worse.

Lastly I really like this teams play down the stretch we are a very difficult team to beat and overall extremely consistent. Looking around at scores and other NCHC series there seems to be lots of lopsided games every other night I hope this carries us to Boston and a Saturday night victory. ..GO SIOUX !!!!

  4. Good lord that South Bend regional gonna have 15 people there. I know it's been said on here before, but if Michigan makes the tourney, they HAVE to be going to South Bend, don't they? That regional is gonna be so bare.

I agree but right now Mich is a buble team, and for some reason they think Bowling Green will produce a decent fan base

  5. Sounds to me like ice conditions might not lend itself to the best hockey being played.  Perhaps the NCAA should have a back up plan that would be logistically feasible in the area -- oh, say perhaps THE RALPH!!

Ha,ha….since when does the NC$$ care about the quality of hockey….this made me laugh out loud at my desk this morning , the things the NC$$ cares about most in no particular order:  money, attendance, money and oh yeah , money and making the stands look full on TV, and almost forgot …. money

  6. so far they still think MN will end up in Fargo....I like the looks of Mankato's schedule....Mich Tech and Bemidji....if we end up #1 overall I don't think the Gophers end up in Fargo:

    This week’s brackets

    East Regional (Providence):
14 Yale vs. 3 Boston University
    12 Providence vs. 6 Miami

    Northeast Regional (Manchester):
    15 Harvard vs. 4 Minnesota-Duluth
12 Boston College vs. 5 Omaha

    Midwest Regional (South Bend):
16 Robert Morris vs. 1 Minnesota State
9 Denver vs. 8 Bowling Green

    West Regional (Fargo):
13 Minnesota vs. 2 North Dakota
10 Quinnipiac vs. 7 Michigan Tech

  7. Listed of most hated UND opponents….imo :

    1. Gophers
    2. BC
    3. DU
    4. Michigan

BC and DU are very close in hated ....technically DU is a longer rival.... but BC losses are always season enders, apparently we have a distain for maroon/crimson and gold teams

  8. That was last weeks bracket....this weeks is even better. Stubhub prices will be insane!

Ha....you're right, I scrolled down too far....much more intersting :)

  10. How many Sioux fans in Omaha?

Omaha was an absolute blast…pretty much all the UNO fans I encountered were polite, great hockey, we had great seats…Saturday my view of the game was obstructed by Hakstol standing right in front of me…. We were right behind the Sioux bench….probably the only thing that could have been better would be if all us Sioux fans were more concentrated in a certain area…. But we had really good numbers I thought.

Not real happy about the new arena being on campus, might give a better hockey feel but staying at a hotel connected to the game was pretty frickin sweet, I think the Hilton does a top notch job considering everything that was going on, they even had enough shuttles to bus us around Old Market district on Saturday with very little delay.

The drive back was crap all the way through Iowa, left at 10 am and pulled into Fargo at 5pm just in time to get back in the car and drive to SuperBowl party, outside of an NCAA regional in MSP or the Frozen four there this was by far a most excellent adventure.
