  1. I have quietly wondered to myself that getting a bachelors degree in 3 years may have contributed to his lesser performance this year over last. Sort of a mental "burnout" (which is way to harsh, but I am not a wordsmith).

When i read this "for selfish reasons as a Sioux hockey fan, I want BE to stay at UND" , I had the thought that selfishness wants him to move on with either hockey or his degree and bring in a rising, hungry star... be it Gothberg or someone else.

Personally i think our goalies are hung out to dry too often, but i am a hockey fan and not a coach.

  2. I will be in Watertown, SD this weekend for a PeeWee hockey tournament. Does anyone know if FSSN is available in Watertown? Or am I going to be stuck with online games.

    thanks

    Rick

  3. Watched the Fargo Force beat Sioux City Musketeers last night. Gothberg is goal for the force looked good. Schmaltz looked good, got a nice power play goal, the first thing I noticed was smallish legs, so he may need to put on some weight. Colton Sinclair and Chad Demers were both injury scratches. Pretty good game, Force opened it up in the second and Sioux City couldn't keep up. Smallish crowd, 2888. With a UND game going on and weather in the area not a bad showing. nice arena.

  4. Fargo Force...Colton St. Claire & Zane Gothberg

    Sioux City Musketeers...Jordan Schmaltz

Thanks, the kids get to meet the Force players after the game so they are pumped. Hoping to run up to GF on saturday and watch the Sioux!! We shall see.

  5. Does anyone have a video clip or time of game snapshot of the high stick to the head that gregoire recieved. I have emailed WCHA about Todd Anderson's poor officiating and would like to use this as an example.

  6. Concordia, WI. He drinks paint thinner now. ;)

And don't feel bad, I accidentally called Matt Jones "Zach"...they look an awful lot alike though.

mmmm paint thinner, like nyquil with snap.

seen David Hale in an AHL game last week, got a penalty for checking from behind. really nailed a guy right in the numbers.. up with the big team now,

  7. Last year in the Calder Cup playoffs, I got to check out Rylan Kaip with the Chicago Wolves (against the Milwaukee Admirals). I got to sit right by the Chicago bench that also featured Peter Mannino (who got pulled in the 1st period) and Chris Chelios (the traitor). It was pretty entertaining. The AHL is a good league with a nice, but small, die-hard fan base.

I would LOVE to see Tony Hrkac play, but I want to get down to Concordia College where he coaches to see a game of theirs (which is about 45 minutes away from me).

Where is Concordia located? Surely it is not the one in Moorehead MN. Went to UND when tony was playing, met himat the Antique bar and called him herzac, (I was inebriated) after that he would laught at the sight of me. Not the ideal UND memory but a memory none the less.

    :silly:

  8. Exactly.

Control what you can control and at least put up an effort worthy of the Sioux uniform.

If we get swept, we can look back at this in April as just another learning experience as we hang #8. :)

    Nicee thought but....

If the type of play, (hard nosed, gritty..) is going to be a loss whenever the opponent/refs are of the european/women's/ pansy variety Howdo you get the Win.

You only get to hang a banner with wins. If our style of hockey can't compete either because of the refs or because they score more, Playing our style may not be the way to go.

Now playing european/women's/ pansy may not get players to the next level.... not a good thought when it comes to the future of college hockey..

  9. You are correct. I wasn't paying attention to the picks since I was eliminated the first round (like normal for me).

When everyone was choosing Fratttin and Gregoire in the Alaska tournament, I was thinking I should save them for a later round, Turned out I waited too long. Kristo is way overdue, but sophmore slumps happen. Wish I could watch tonight. but I doubt Dickinson will have it on. Maybe a net link. keeping my fingers crossed..

    GO Sioux!!!! !!!!!!!!!!

  10. You can only use a player once in each game. That's why it gets tougher as you go along, the most logical players get used in the first 3 or 4 rounds and you end up using lower probability players as you go along. When the next game starts you can start over using players.

So if I am following along corretly, Ameican Soldier** is picking players that he has already picked, Not?

  11. I have a question regarding game rules. if you pick say Genoway in round one, can you pick Genoway in round two? Frattin looks like a sure thing lately.

If this is a rule, does it reset with the next game?

    GO SIOUX !!!

  12. I mentioned to my wife that I was thinking of giving up showering until the Sioux score a power play goal....

the look she gave me was interesting... I think we are also not sleeping together until they score
