Doesn't look malicious or intentional to me at all. If you look at the replay he hits him from the side, not from behind. Still deserves a boarding call, and I'm even OK with a 5 min penalty, but to say this was a malicious hit is a little ignorant. If he's steamed up at the Sioux, he probably would turn and face Kaip and Finley when they come after him in the corner. Instead he moves quickly away from Chay, and turns his back to the Sioux players rushing at him, as if to say "Sorry guys, let's just make sure Genoway is OK". The Sioux players seem to understand this gesture, as Gergen gets absolutely NO physical "treatment" from the Sioux players. Plus Genoway knows if he goes full tilt to the puck he is going to get crushed into the end boards, so he starts to slow up and turn to keep position on Gergen, but Gergen is still going full speed. Dangerous play? Probably...Intent to injure? I just don't see where you get that. Hopefully Genoway will be back in action soon...looks like a shoulder injury to me, hopefully just a sprain or strain variety.

Still here! Just usually working on game nights... Final 5 weekend though...my calendar is clear!

Me too...I just want my Dogs to make some people sit up and take notice (like they did last year as a single digit win 9 seed against St. Clown, taking them to 3 games, one in OT and one in 3 OT, and the year before beating Denver as the 9 seed). An NCAA tourney bid to help recruiting would be great as well! Good luck against Tech. See you at the Final Five!

That was one thing lacking from this year's MSHSL Tourney. The only good OT game was Edina v. Benilde. I can't remember a tourney with more blowouts. Very few games were of the back-and-forth variety. Once one team got out ahead, they shut it down on D. The fire department wasn't very busy this weekend, as the barn didn't even come close to burning in St. Paul...

UND in 2 CC in 2 UMD in 2 UM in 3 SC in 3 Final 5 would look like this: UM vs. UMD (play-in) UND vs. SCSU CC vs. Play-in winner I love this time of year!!

You've got that right...I was at last night's game, and they looked terrible at first...got a little better as the game went on. It really depends on which team shows up...tDogs that played hard and got the win tonight, or tDogs that went scoreless in 3 straight games... If we can stick to talking hockey, then yeah, we can have a truce.

I beg to differ. Denver is ripe for the picking. Much better draw than having to go to tRalph and play the Sioux. Too bad you'll be in AZ, it really is a great tournament, regardless of who is in it. tWCHA is the best conference hands down.

Actually it was your statement that was dumb, saying that the team that just beat you "sucks" really puts your team down as well. And tDogs do have a chance at the NCAAs if they finish strong...so I think you are wrong on that as well. But I didn't feel the need to call you any names. That's not good. I never like seeing kids get hurt. At the Gopher game, McKnight got crushed behind the net on a charge by Bickel and collapsed in a heap. I was sitting right next to the students, who cheered the play and called Matt a pussy. I'd like to see them take a hit like that...

Hope he's OK...you're already thin. How is Trupp? Was it a broken leg after all, or something less serious?
