  1. To add on to #3.  If a major penalty occurs during the last, say, 10 minutes of the third period, review it.  If it is indeed a major that warrants a game misconduct, I'd like to see a DQ added to that for the next night's game.  Sometimes if a game gets to be a blowout in the third, there can be frustration that can lead to some pretty fierce goonery.   A guy figures what the heck, it's a blow out and the game's almost over, who cares if I get tossed.

If the boys can't dial up the power play, it will be lights out before they can win #8 this year.  Shaw and the boys better figure it out in the next week.  (Big sigh).

    We shall see.

    Go SIOUX!

We haven't had a decent PP since the Blais era.

Frankly, I'd rather see both Wolanin and Shaw in the game over Thompson.

I'm sure everyone here thinks I'm crazy.

I did not watch the game, I was at work, so I won't comment further.

Thompson has been iffy all year.  I wouldn't call him a liability.  Just iffy.  I think Shaw has played pretty well since the first of the year, when he's been given ice time.  I take no issue with Shaw being in the lineup.

Go back and watch third gaol at end of second…#27 had guy on boards and didn't touch him..a poke check and period runs out….obviously Johnson/GFC has a ton of pull…..sit his ass

By that logic maybe Poolman should be sat down as well.  He's the one who went for the pinch in the neutral zone, missed everything, and opened up the 2 on 1 for the game winner.  They'll figure in out for tomorrow night.

  5. Luke isn't scoring.  Cam 's glove is weak.  Say what you want.  Boeser tried to be cute in our zone with the puck, and coughed it up for Omaha's first.  Ausmus was bad...again.  In fact Shaw was our best D-man all night.  Our mucker lines were better than our scoring lines.  Simonson's line was phenomenal tonight.  And freshmen or not, it's time for Wilkie and Gersich to start owning some shifts.  It's just a loss, though.  Lots of hockey yet to be played.  And as far as Ortega goes, he's a goal scorer, and he might make it to the next level.  But it wont be for long.  He's a suck hole with a good shot.  Period!  The guy didn't have two skates in his own zone all night.

  6. We all remember when Kelley decided to have 3 names advance to the runoff and he said that the winner of that would be the nickname.  The majority thought this was a horrible idea because the winner was sure to not have 50% of the vote.  So what did we do?  We emailed the people who make the decisions, voiced our concerns, and ultimately the process was changed to ensure a majority of at least 50% was required to select a new name.

This issue required the same response.  We do not need some outside firm from New York designing the new Fighting Hawks logo.  There are plenty of local people with local ties to the University and the state that can come up with something that will be far superior to what a design firm out wast could come up with.  Like I have said before, the last local guy with ties to the University designed a pretty good logo last time!!

So voice your concerns to the appropriate people.  You want to make a change in the process and make your voices heard?  Contact the people who have a say in the matter.  Let them know how UND's stakeholders feel.  Give them a change to hear and possibly change their mind on the process  It worked before, it can work again.

As always, be respectful in your emails.

HA!  Mr. Kelley and Mr. Johnson couldn't give a Fighting Hawk's tail feathers what anyone thinks.  I thought that was already established...

  7. Perhaps some believe the synthesized logo will be worthwhile, even if it is unknown at this point. The NCAA is not going to reject or even comment on a well thought-out "hawks" logo, so long as it refrains from Native American imagery.

I don't disagree with that.  BUT, the logo in question, the one that Chicago is being urged to change to, could very easily be deemed Native American imagery.  That's the logo people have been exposed to, thus influencing their votes.

  8. Nevertheless, the lesson here is that the new logo carries just as much weight - if not more - as the actual nickname itself. With that in mind, either Roughriders or Fighting Hawks can be "unique" if the subsequent logo is well-made and appealing.

Anyone who thinks that the NCAA isn't going to consider said hawk logo to be Native American imagery, is a fool.  Including those who voted for Fighting Hawks based on that logo.

  9. Except Nodaks is a derogatory term Minnesotans use when they invade the lakes areas.....It's usually f'n Nodaks don't know how to.....drive, launch a boat, not fish 3 feet from me, say 10 pointer, etc.

I know how to say 10 pointer.  I just prefer 5x5 or 6x4.  But I know what you are saying.  It's the same as when the Minnesota "waterfowlers" come over here to slough country every October and we all get to witness that s**t show.
