  1. For me personally, the throw back lace in the collar look is getting played out. Other than that, I was very pleased with the sweaters they wore in regionals. I've always been more of a fan jerseys that have the team logo for a crest rather than just block letters. But we don't know where that's going yet......

  2. How about the Pike, or Northern Pike? Then, we can "slime" the opponent! yeah, I know..that's weird...

I've been saying that for the last year and a half. It's the North Dakota state fish, unique angle (not a lot of teams with the fish mascot), same cadence as Fighting Sioux, same color scheme, and a bad a$$ predator.

  3. OF COURSE they're not gonna rip one of their own on Hockey Day Minnesota Minneapolis. I can't believe people are surprised by this. It's their job to be all things Minnesota Minneapolis hockey. If it wasn't, then the Bulldogs winning the national championship would have been the number one FSN/KFAN Minnesota hockey moment for 2011, not Kyle Rau scoring the state tournement winning goal. Duluth winning it all didn't even make the list to choose from! If they wanna believe that no one on a gopher sweater has never done anything stupid, let 'em I say. We all know that someone on just about every sports team in the history of competition has done something stupid in the field of play. But homers roll that way not matter what team it is. And I'm sorry to say it, but, that includes Sioux fans. YOU WILL NEVER see the footage of Ryan Stoa coming down with a two-hander across Brett Hextall's neck while Hextall is laying on his back in the gopher crease after being railroaded from behind into Alex Kangas. You'll never see that footage played on FSN. Get used to it and get over it. Gorg bugs the crap out of me. I like Lapanta. I think he has a good grip on the hockey world, and is a fair guy. But as Coach Hakstol so rightly put it on the coaches show last week, "Everybody works for somebody."

  4. I can deal with having 10 freshmen on the ice and having to work through your lumps, but Blood and Forbort just might have been the two worst players in any of the four games (and I was at all four). You cannot have that kind of play out of those guys I don't care where you are in the season. Now, I'm not sure who's in charge of our breakout, but it doesn't work. Everybody we play is one pass and out of their own zone and on a rush. They send one forechecker in on our D and we end up having to throw the puck off the glass.

  5. What about the next part? What about the God put US in charge part? For me, that's the worst part of what he says.

Again, if people want to engage in consensual sex, then who exactly needs blame?

Of course I have a problem with men seeing women solely as sex objects, and women only finding value in themselves if men find them attractive. However, there is nothing wrong with sexual attraction, and there's nothing wrong with trying to appear appealing to the opposite (or same) sex.

As for how women are treated in strict Islamic communities (as well as MANY MANY other cultures throughout the world), it makes me feel ill.

God DID put US in charge. Genesis, Chapter 9: God's Covenant With Noah.

  6. Sioux Shop. I believe it costs around $55

    Not sure about Gerrells

Where can I get and adult and youth jersey personalized? Sioux Shop? Gerrells? And how much does it cost?

I just bought a youth jersey for my nephew about a month ago and had it personalized with name and numbers. Did it all at the Sioux Shop. It was about $180 for the jersey and personalization, with about a four week return time.

  7. You'll have to forgive me, but I'm only a month into this smart phone thing. Love the Fighting Sioux app on my Android, but in order to be able to watch highlight video and whatnot I have to upgrade the app to the premium version. Does anyone know if the $4.99 charge is a one time deal or is that per month?

  8. I'd like to see the timeline here. For some reason I'm under the impression that the settlement was in place before Charles Murphy was voted in - am I wrong in thinking this? If I'm correct, then the settlement was agreed to when RHHIT was the dictator, therefore we did not have Standing Rock/Charles Murphy to go to bat for us. I apologize if I have the timeline incorrect.

No, you're correct. I had my timeline wrong. Murphy was elected in '09. Sorry, my bad. But I still think that played a part due to the rumblings that came from Standing Rock reguarding His Horse Is Thunder and him not allowing his people to vote on the issue.

  9. Ding ding ding ding ding!! we have a winner here!! I don't know why the AG would agree to UND having to get permission from two tribes instead of one. That, to me, considering Standing Rocks stance, was the clincher. BUT!! It didn't have to come down to this, if Spirit Lake would have spoken up from the get go when everyone was asking them instead of sitting on the fence saying nothing, it wouldn't have even come to this. Many of you will disagree with me I'm sure but I blame Spirit Lake first. The NCAA was waiting for a responce and they said nothing. I refuse to feel sorry for Spirit Lake, their approval didn't come until after the settlement agreement. Just my opinion.

Um, keep in mind that we went into this agreement THINKING we Standing Rock in our back pocket after His Horse Is Thunder was voted out by his constituancy and was replaced by Charles Murphy, who appeared to be a pro namer. And all the while Murphy never ever came out and said the tribe would vote on the issue. You wanna blame someone first, start with the deal makers on our side who worked this deal based on assumptions.

  10. I still like Northern Pike. It's the ND state fish. Not a lot of schools going with the fish angle, same cadence as Fighting Sioux, the color schemes match up, and it's one bad a$$ fresh water predator.

  11. It's too bad we lost him, but it sounds like he could possibly have been a one and done. If Grimaldi sticks around at least 2 or 3 years, it might be nice to have someone stick around a few years to create the kind of chemistry the Senior class this year had. Probably a better possibility now of more members of that class being together down the road. Hey, when a big-time recruit like that decides to go elsewhere you have to try find some silver lining.

The silver lining is that we're the University of North Dakota. And there'll probably be another top recruit coming down the pipeline. And not to sound bitter, because I'm far from it, but I would rather find out now that he's not a man of his word than at Christmas break.

  12. I don't think so, unless there are injuries. Gleason will be very valuable at D next year with his experience. We are likely looking at bringing in another forward... likely a Davidson type player.

I agree. Gleason gives us some speed and hands at D. And I don't mean "Ben Blood - give me half a dozen heart attacks per game - hands". Gleason is good at hitting the neutral zone with some speed.

  13. Flatten the take-back a little and keep your weight on you rear foot a little more. Do that and Eids will be back to his old self. (And you will have yourself a draw, which is a deal with the devil, but what do we care as long as Eidsness is stopping pucks)

Thanks, I'll give that a whirl. Although with a slice off the tee, you get to play the course twice while only having to pay once!!

  14. I was wondering if I was the only one that thought his game went to hell when he changed his mask and pads, someone should take both away from him and tell him to go back to his old style pads and mask.

Right. Just like my slice is my drivers fault. Totally stoked that he's coming back though.

  15. Nelson and Rodwell after putting on 10-15 lbs of muscle will both be a force. Rodwell's speed I'd put up against anyone on our team.

LOVE Rodwell. That man is a junk yard dog on the ice!!
