  1. Get Bucky some pants. Sioux Sweep. DU loses at home.

You may be on the point with DU losing. I watched portions of the DU game this weekend(thanks Midco). They played to the level of SCSU. I think they have peaked in December, since then they have gone 7-5-2. Tigers go into Denver and win. I also agree, lets get Bucky some pant. The Sioux win friday and saturday is up in the air, because of clinching the cup the night before. I see some players getting some rest.

  2. I don't have tickets yet and was planning on getting single game tickets. Am I going to be able to pick up 2 tickets for each of the sioux games. I used to live in Minneapolis and was able to just walk up and buy tickets. What do you suggest?

  3. It's pretty much a 2 Dog race now for the league title! Big series next week against CC but it's not life or death...we've got a little space but have to win at least one. WAY TO GO SIOUX! When was the last time we swept in Anchorage?

I think I saw the last sweep was in 2003,

Now get the heck out of dodge before Mt Vesuvious explodes

  4. Justin Brewster put in front of the camera (no Lucia interview). Brewster looks close to tears. Poor baby....

FYI, I was watching a replay of the game.

Lucia just was on and stated that the goofs are finding ways to lose. Again, the golden chokers at work. Imagine, no goofs in the final 5, is it possible?

  5. CC 4 MN 3 6min left in the third....

I know it's over but it's hockey I can watch and I'm hoping for another Lucia interview after the game. It's always fun to see the Goofs lose. :D

You gonna watch that on gophers live post game, oops, gophers haven't been live since, well, since we swept them back in january, GO SIOUX!!!

  6. That's usually the color guys job, not the play-by-play. This is one dude, doing both.

IMO he's doing a fantastic job. Much better than Sweeney.

I guess I am a little picky though, I am a play by play guy and have done games by myself, so I have a different view.

  7. Care to elaborate on this? In my opinion this guy is heads and shoulders above Sweeny.

Yeah, he gives you the play on the puck, but not any of what else is going on, like line changes taking place, or anything behind the puck. No color, just the ice and the puck.

  8. Never in my wildest dreams did I foresee this happening! Fantastic! It just mad emy weekend! (Now please, Sioux, do your part.)

Now for the rest of the state, where do we go to watch the games. I live in Mandan and would love to watch. Any ideas??

  9. Yep!! Just because you live in the community/state doesn't mean you have the same love and desire for the best for the U.

Wait a second, hold your horses. I am as big of a Sioux sports fan as anyone. Born and Raised in North Dakota. I am that guy who while I am fishing or out hunting has the game on. I am that guy who as I am driving down the road and the hockey game is on is searching the radio for the game. How can you say that I don't have the same interest in the Sioux nickname as an alumni would have.

I am the guy who wears all my gear with pride and follows the Sioux into Minneapolis to go to the game, been to the DEC to support the team and the National Hockey Center to see the comeback with less than a minute left in the game. I am the guy who lived in Minneapolis for 7 years and wore my green on the day the Sioux played the gophers in the final five at the St Paul Civic. I am the guy who drives from Bismarck to see the game at the Ralph. No I didn't go to your U, but don't say I don't have the best at heart.

How can you limit this to just alumni.

I am who you want on your side, don't exclude me just because I didn't go to your U.

  10. I'm looking for three tickets for the Sioux vs. Badgers game on Saturday, November 1st. I feel like the worst mom in the world because I can't let our son go on his 8th grade class trip in Spring because of our other daughter's wedding. He's so bummed so I'm trying to make up for it by taking him to see a hockey game before our hockey season starts and the Fighting Sioux is his all time favorite team. He's always wanted to see a game in North Dakota. Can anyone help?

Please email me at malfaraj@ricelake.com if you can't use your seats. We'd love to buy them. Thanks.

Let me guess, Rice Lake WISCONSIN??

  11. Agree with most every thing you stated.

My point was that someone was worried about a posters feelings but does't worry about ripping a player. Even though the majority of the rips made on this board (and others) are by people who understand very little about the game. I agree that the opinions expressed in these posts are not shared by the majority of Sioux fans. It is frustrating to see this type of stuff brought up because it takes away from a very successful year and program.

I don't mind constructive discussion about what they could do better, etc.. I just think that too many fans believe it is a given that we will win every year. It takes alot of luck on top of all the other intangibles to win the Championship. In a one and done tournament often the best team doesn't win.

Also, less than 10% of these players will ever make it in the NHL. That is not an opinion it is a fact.

You are so right about almost everything on this comment. Lets think about his for just a little. How long have we been a program, and how many championships have we won. Now lets do the math. Yes we won in 97 and in 2000, but how many years did we not win. At the start of the year, I am hoping that we can have home ice in the playoffs, so we have a good chance to make it to the Final Five, have a good showing there, and then use that as a spring board to the NCAA's. This is all so that we can have a chance at playing for a Championship. We can't expect, nor are we entitled to a championship every year. As a Sioux Hockey fan, I love the fact that we are more competitive than most other programs, and have a perannial shot at going deep in the playoffs, but we are not promised anything, and it gives all all something to be a Proud North Dakotan Over. GO SIOUX!!!

  12. I'm trying to recall, but I think the prom queen at my high school was knocked up. So, would it be better for me to have been a loser whining about doing my best or a winner? :)

One thing I have not seen mentioned once was this fact. If UND is so high on getting National Championships. Why in the world do they schedule a Curling Tourney At the end of the year when you don't really want to change things up to much. I understand that this is the REA, but I have to believe that Ralph might say, let someplace else have it, we have a chamionship to win. I know that they were still in GF, but they were not at home. They had thier routine upset. I know that hockey players are superstisious, and dang, we just throw them out of thier house.

  13. I believe he said that goaltending killed us in the END of each season. No matter how good JPL and JPar were in the reg season and the regionals, and they were great, they didn't show up in the FF.

I am so looking forward to seeing the Jr. Toews. What can anyone tell me about him. Is he a one and done kind of guy?? Is he gonna leave us early like Zack, (before the tourney is over)or is he gonna be a guy who will give us a few years.

Who else has some promising prospects. Any sizable defensemen?

  14. Bob, I hear ya.

All I can really say is, I truly hope BC wins it all. For two reasons.

    1. I only want the Sioux to lose to the best.

    2. They only have 2 titles to Michigan's 9. I'd like the Sioux to exceed that in my lifetime.

As to Notre Dame...hey...I wish 'em all the best.

Looks like Red has been around the block a time or two. Maybe Hak is watching. how may times have you seen it that a goalie change has put a jump in the skates.

I also agree, I hate that stupid Michigan song, I never cheer for the Golden Domers, but, please stop the Big Blue.
