  1. If we started calling them the counterfit line, now that might cause some problems. I guess I could see how the money line name might be setting up opposing fans, such as the gopher faithful to turn this name into a negative thing. I still think it is better than naming the line after one player. It was neat at the bar last night when Bochenski scored his goal, a few Sioux fans rubbed their fingers together to signal money, which was neat to see it was catching on.

  2. It's not like that. You must not be keeping up with the posts on naming the line. People want to call them the money line because they are money to score when we need a goal and because those players should be making big cash someday in the NHL, among other reasons. It's not meant to poke fun at Bochenski.

  3. -Just like they do in baseball for strikeouts, each time one of the three gets a point, tape a dollar bill onto a posterboard with their names listed and a picture of the Monopoly guy. (hopefully it would be filled by games end)

-Each time they score a goal or get a point, take out a paper bill and wave it in the air. (especially when they announce the point getters over the P.A.)

-tape dollar bills along the glass where it meets the boards. (Don't let the refs think this is a bribe for them.)

    Any other ideas...

The Money Line will be ready tonight! Big Sioux victory, 5-2!

  4. Couteaurinkrat, I thought people still do those cheers.

Give me an s-e-x, what's that spell sex, what's that mean score, score, score.

Give me a c-o-n-d-o-m, what's that spell condom, what's that mean defense, defense, defense.

Give me a c-u-m, what's that spell cum, what's that mean shoot it, shoot it, shoot it.

Give me a t-i-t-s, what's that spell tits, what's that mean "tits". (when something neat happens on the ice)

We also invented some others, but I don't think they would be appropriate to write out on here.

    :);):):0;):lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

    GO SIOUX!!!

  5. I think the assembly line, putting points together is great.

I agree that the Brady Bunch shouldn't catch on, if it already hasn't. The line shouldn't be named after one player. They all work hard. How about Life Line? Adding life to our team and fans with each goal.

  6. Victory Sports is carrying both St. Cloud/Sioux games this weekend but none of the cable providers around here have signed an agreement to their deal. Victory Sports wants to charge each customer who wants to carry their channel, but the cable companies don't want customers to have to do this. I guess Carl Pohlad and the Twins might not come to any agreements until the start of their season since so much money is involved and everybody is greedy, thus no college hockey as they had promised. The cable company I have is Charter, but when I called them, they said this was the same for Time Warner, Midcontinent and others. Is this true? If so, why is the company still scheduling programming when nobody is watching? I did want to watch the games from the comfort of my own home, but now have to go out and sit in the bar all weekend again. Things would be so much easier if I was still up in Grand Forks. I might have to look into grad school. :silly: It's tough to hear fans complaining about the atmosphere in the arena, at least you are lucky enough to be there. If anybody else knows more about this topic, please let me know.

  7. I'm with you, Sioux CO. Standing was never a problem in the old arena because we had half of the arena. The only peoples view that was obstructed was that of other students, so they would just end of standing. Since it is the students team for their school, they should have the entire lower half side of the rink instead of the 2 sections of lower and upper. This way these crying season ticket holders could sit high enough up that they could see the game the entire time. I have only been to 4 games at the new arena and that was in it's first year when these ideas of sitting down the entire time were just going into effect. I don't think I would last too long with these new rules now if I enjoyed the game as I used to when I was a student. It was great hog piling after goals, which probably doesn't happen anymore and yelling out random insults to players on the other team. It sounds like if you do any of these things now you are gone and that sucks because that isn't how I remember Sioux hockey. I used to love hanging on the glass, which now would probably result in jail time or getting thrown out of school. Perhaps when I am 40 I might like these new rules if I attend a game, but I am not very fond of them now. From what I have seen on television, it looks like the fans are having a great time though. I remember when I wore a wig and painted up for a game, everybody looked at me as if I was insane, but now everybody does it. It was great to see Diggler on tv and the crowd I was with watching the game remembered him and thought it was great to see him up there still attending in the same seats as usual supporting the team for us, since we aren't able to be up there. By the way, do you have your doctorate yet with all of this time in school? :silly: All in all the fans appear to be having fun and don't let a few old grouches get in your way and ruin your experience. We have more important things to think about and prepare for, such as playing the surprising St. Cloud Huskies and kicking their butts. GO SIOUX!!!

One more thing...We watched the game at Sensers in Bloomington and the entire Shattuck St. Mary's team was in attendance watching the game. It was great to see that they all are interested in the Sioux and following their former teammates. One player said he would love the play for the Sioux someday. I hope they all share this dream even when Zach and others are done. They have great talent coming from their program and it makes recruiting easy.

  8. These are the season ticket packages that you can sign up for, but won't receive seating until January 9th. I did this right away last year and now recieved information to renew my seats, which were 10 rows up since I was early. It was a blast last year and I suggest that you sign up early for tickets so you can get great seats to support the Sioux! Prices are the same as last year. $115 for all five games in the lower sections and $50 for the upper. Sign up through ticketmaster or call 1(651) 726-8240. Single game tickets aren't available until March 8th. These are for people who wait around to see if their team makes it. We all know the Sioux will make it for sure since we are the best, especially after we skin these 'phers this weekend.

  9. You could piss off Gopher fans that are watching on television by imitating their rouser, spelling North Dakota. I'm sure they stole some of our cheers such as the funnel, vacuum, blackhole sieve cheer. And after the anthem, home of the SIOUX! It seems to me that everybody is now doing it. Did they copy us? Who had that first anyway? Who originated most of these cheers?

  10. How about just a simple sign held up to the glass that says, "Briggs your mom was great!"? Nothing too fancy, or you could pick on another player. (especially if his mom is in town) Just yell out, "Your mom or him for that matter is so easy to score on it's like throwing a hot dog down a hallway, parking a bicycle in an airplane hanger or throwing a toothpick down a hallway." (courtesy of Deuce Bigelow) Be careful though, because these are things I used to yell while hanging over the glass and a few pucks were shot at me sometimes.

  11. Hey diggs, any flies in that new arena yet this year? I just remember that the seats in the new arena aren't as forgiving as the old benches when you are drunk and fall forward three rows as I did a few times. Man, I wish I was still up there. This will be the second year in a row I haven't seen the Gophers play up there. Remember the couch burning that smoked the Gophers out of the locker room? That is my fondest Gopher/Sioux memory ever. Does anybody still try to throw snowballs when they get off the bus, or is it too difficult with the new tunnel?

  12. Anybody still do this chant... Just like we did to the Bison...

F the Gophers, F the Gophers, F the Gophers up the a**

Raise your glasses kick some a**es F the Gophers up the a**

    I'm a Gopher, I'm a Gopher, I'm a Gopher kick my a**

    Drink a dozen, F your cousin, I'm a Gopher kick my a**.

Oh wait, I guess you can't swear at the games anymore.

Or just make these signs you are talking about and put them on the glass behind the penalty box so we can see them down here on tv.
