Does anyone know if the Wild are going to actually play a preseason game in the Ralph this year? I noticed that September 30 is listing Chicago and the Wild, but no arena is mentioned. The Ralph never writes me back about it, so I don't know. Anyone know anything?

Well he's OK. I saw him walking down Washington Street last night. I don't know why he wasn't at the spring game, but I'm happy he's allright. He's a good luck charm for the football team.

Mark Kauk. He wears an old Sioux jersey with the 43 on it. I was wondering because he was in a wheelchair at the Michigan Tech/UND hockey game and he wasn't at the spring game. I was just wondering if anyone knew if something was wrong.

I just now had a chance to post in regard to the spring game. I'm excited about the season, but where in the world was the Kaukster at the spring game? Did anyone see him? We need #43 to be raising the roof this season.

I agree with Goon. I'm not holding my breath on those games and anyway we would never see them at the Alerus (if we're taking football). The clock is ticking on this and we are losing. I only have one vote, but I swear that I will never vote for anyone or support anyone who goes against this name. As soon as I get feedback from the North Dakota Triad, I will post on here. I'm also strongly considering never buying a Herald again. Is it true the editor if the Herald is against the name? If so, it's time to go internet only with the news.

Guys, Let's keep on task with the on ething we can agree on and that is keeping the name. The difference between the Thunder/NCAA/bleding heart alliance is that they are organized and stay on message. I called Dorgan, Conrad, and Pomeroy yesterday and asked for their stance on the name and urged them to support it. Let's all do it. It'll take you three minutes each. I love arguing politics too, but we need to unite on this one. Once it's gone it won't come back. Also, I will bet you they will next attack the jerseys and say you can't wear them because it promotes hate. Let's draw the line now.

I'm calling Conrad and Dorgan too. I want their official stand on this name issue and not the plau both sides of the issue garbage. Hakstol works for an administration that obviously wants the name changed and he is brave enough to make a stand, what about our paid representatives? They work for us and should be held accountable to the voters. My two cents...

I hear ya. I just called him and they said they would send me a letter. I said the vast majority want this name and he needs to speak up. I doubt anything will happen, but I'm going to go to sleep at night knowing I did what I could. I would encourage everyobne to at least try. It'll take you a couple of minutes and you never know what can happen.

I honestly think it might. Congressmen and senior Senators are especially hard to beat. I think if one of them were to go to bat for the pro name crowd that they would reach cult status. I doubt they will for a number of different reasons. If the PC crowd wins this one, how long do you think it will be before we can't wear our jerseys because that is a form of hate speech. The libs at UND don't want to win. The libs who run this state don't want to win. The Herald, which is a lib paper doesn't want to win. Retreat and surrender, that's the liberal way. At some point we need to take a stand or we'll have a very sterile and boring product. It doesn't stop, they'll go after something else next. This isn't personal against the Sioux as a whole, but against UND official cowards, Pomeroy-Dorgan-Conrad, Ron Thunder, and The GF Herald. My co worker suggested we change the name to the UND Keebles after the late great MSgt Woody Keeble (you know, the guy mentioned in the Ralph every game). I like it. He fought for the USA and it would be good to honor him.

I called over to Overtime and they're showing the game tonight and Italian Moon says they are as well. BWW is saying no as of right now. Does anyone know how they show this? Is it satellite or what is the deal? WDAZ says they aren't giving us any surprises, so I don't know.

You won't get an argument from me there. They should be in the same schedule. I respect UND 1's point of view and everyone else's, I just think it would be great if we had a civil war game and pushed the football program to be major league like we do the hockey team. I think with the crew of funny writers on here, we would have a great smack fest with the Bison fans if they ever brought the game back. But yeah, you're right, they should be in the same conference.

We will sign a long term agreement with the Alerus which will secure us playing there for the next 8-10 years. If the popularity of Sioux football reaches a level where we outgrow the Alerus, we do have plans that would allow us to move football back on campus, but that would only occur if the demand is there. We do have plans to build an indoor training facility on Campus. We hope to have this completed in the near future (1-5 years). This is a necessity to stay competitive at the next level. As far as NDSU, we have offered an open invitation to NDSU to play them ASAP. It is currently up to them as to when they want to renew the rivalry. I hope it is in the near future but time will tell. I'm a little confused. Why did we close the Bison thread? We need a civil war game (South Dakota does not count). Why are we scared to debate the Bison fans over a game? That's the fun of a civil war game. I don't mean any disrespect to Fargo or their fans, but its fun to debate it. It's not personal. A Civil War game would be the healthiest thing for the program. I have an email from Dale Lennon that says there is a standing offer to play NDSU (this was about two months ago) and that they were working on it. So for someone to say we won't play for years doesn't know anything more than anyone else. If the fans demand it, then it might just happen. If we're scare to debate the Bison fans, then I'm scared we'll just hand over our nickname, give up the Goofer series, stop arguing with Goofball and Badger fans, and roll over and die. Football will never work if we're scared of our rivals. Would Michigan fans be scared to say something about Ohio State? Doubtful.
