It is eassier to recruit kids to Fargo North Dakota to win a National Championship, when they have won so many..... compared to recruiting a kid the Grand Forks when Illinois State, Northern Iowa, South Dakota state, maybe closer to home with similar win to loss results. Then you have the offer percentage from each school to take into account as well. The high performance center certainly helped because it took much of the weather out of the equation.
How did recruiting go in the 90’s when all kids heard was how many titles NDSU won, and how many we won. You find other ways to lure the right kid.

I will take a blowout against a highly ranked team like a Washington or even a Utah against a g5 team like Idaho and Fresno St who blew us out. Beating SHSU is more important than sticking with Washington.

We scored more than 25 in 4 games last year and won 3 of them. Sam scored more than 30 in all but 2 games last year, our offensive better put it in the end zone since we can’t kick and defense needs a lot of 3 and outs or it will be a long day.

All because we lost to #9 Washington? Your point is valid if we lose 45-3 to Sam Houston or maybe even a MAC team but we played a power 5 conference title favorite, sorry but the likes of the Bison or SDSU is not on the same level as Washington.

I was our fraternity house Nintendo Tecmo Bowl Champion in 1991...took the Miami Dolphins to the tite. I also scored 4 TDs once in our company football game in the fall of 1989. Intercepted a pass and took it 80 yards the other way for a score. X-ray the next day revealed that I played 1/2 of the game with a broken wrist, too.
I’m sure your broken wrist was “game” related.

As much as I love bubba he is walking a fine line. First, he’s ok with Rudy being here????? Cannot understand that. Second ...he needs to coach to win games ....not to try and keep it close. Wrong mentality
Special teams was my main concern entering the season . They will be a hit and miss all year. Way to young. Leach is playing scared and unsure. He needs to hit the reset button in his head immediately.
About Rudy...when is his contract up? Is there money to replace him? If our offense struggle this year he has to be gone, and if we can’t get 7 wins it may be time to clean house once again including Bubba.

I think if we lost 45-3 to a g5 FBS team like an Ohio or Texas State then there might be reason to question where this team is but losing to a high ranking p5 team it’s easier to take. SHSU will be the true test where we are at.

Beat Iowa in 2016 didn’t win National Title, beat Kansas in 2010 didn’t win National Title. Beating an FBS team doesn’t mean you are going to Frisco or winning in Frisco.

Did SDSU win a title when they beat Kansas? Did USD win a title when they beat Minnesota? FBS wins and losses don’t describe how the season will go step away from the ledge.

Yep, blowout loss to the number 9 team in the land shut down the program and surrender everything to NDSU. Only one team should be DI and it’s not us. We couldn’t hold our own in Seattle. Season is lost.

why does NDSU best FBS teams consistently? They don’t put them up on a pedestal; they just play football and make the other team beat them.
Conversely Bubba just plays to be close cause “FBS scary”.
How can we beat Wyoming and they couldn’t. They don’t have a poor OC like we have. Our defense can only do so much when our offense sputters.

Don’t get to wrapped up in this game to switch play calling it is the #9 team in the FBS we are playing, it’s not like this is Montana or even NDSU. The Sam Houston Game will be the make or break game.
