  1. That plus the usual eastern bias.
  2. I don't agree. If it's legitimate to bring up their record of beating great teams it's equally legitimate to bring up their record of losing to mediocre teams. My point was that neither one has any relevance to tonight's game.
  3. Those were different teams in different seasons. Do you think BC will put up 6 tonight?
  4. I brought it up in response to this. And by the way, I'm not a member of pinhead nation nor am I from Boston.
  5. We'll see how that works out. I don't think the Sioux want to be taking too many penalties.
  6. BC's game is built on speed, great defense and experience. I don't expect them to play into UND's hands nor do I expect them to let themselves be bashed around the ice.
  7. And they're not playing either. As I said none of this will amount to anything tonight.
  8. A few comments... I don't see a significant difference in size between BC's defensemen and UND's You'd be wrong to assume that BC can't play the physical game Duncan and Gerbe are two of the most dynamic players yet also the two smallest
  9. On the other hand they were swept by Michigan Tech and UAA and lost 3 of 4 to Wisconsin whom BC swept at Kohl but none of that will mean anything at game time.
  10. Of course that assumes BC isn't playing its game because if they do Lammy better be a lot better than good so it pretty much goes both ways. Speaking of defensemen looking like slalom poles Hakstol better tell his boys to keep an eye on Gerbe.
  11. Both teams are peaking at the right time. Here's hoping for an injury-free classic!
  12. Yes it is but shots on goal is a very overrated statistic. A good defense (like BC's) keeps grade-A chances to a minimum. Lamoreux is an excellent goalie but if you want to talk pressure I'd wonder about him before Schneider. This is his first Frozen Four.
  13. Good luck with that. He played in the title game last year so he's not new to pressure situations.
  14. I think that's a great strategy! Maybe UND's best option is to take no shots at all.
  15. The 1st period is UND's strongest. They outscore their opponents by a 2-1 ratio. The 2nd period is a completely different story. UND is only 3 goals better. The margin improves a little in the third. This tells me that the Sioux are great at getting off to a fast start but if you can stem the tide your chances of winning improve greatly as the game wears on. BC's scoring is almost identical over 3 periods but their margin is greatest in the 3rd. Of course this may have no relevance at all but it's interesting to notice trends.
  16. Pat Gannon is very generously listed at 5'7" and 155. It isn't hard to be twice his size. I enjoy the rivalry BC and UND have developed over the years. Almost every game is closely contested.
  17. It isn't out there. To the best of my knowledge there was no team shot but they wore caps and they did celebrate enthusiastically.
  18. Hello, Sioux fans. I've been following my alma mater since the mid 60's and I have a lot of respect for your program. Some very good points have been made on this thread but I wanted to address this one in particular. Jerry York has 777 wins and 2 NCAA titles. He didn't achieve those numbers by not celebrating incremental successes. He's a master at getting the most out of his players, molding a team and upholding tradition. He respects the game, the school and the fans and his players reflect that. In short, don't believe everything you read.
