  1. End of 2nd - scoreless. Intermission on FSN North will show "Rouser" competition videos - could be mildly amusing
  2. Shots on goal so far ... Sioux 10, Gophers 25
  3. Gopher PP. Was that our 2nd penalty tonight for too many men on the ice?
  4. It clearly didn't go in - just sat behind their goalie's skates just outside the line! That's why our guys came in hacking at it - and the goophs thought we were going after their goalie!!! Bickel clearly came in high sticking - & got a penalty. 3 Sioux in penalty box, 2 Gophers. PK!!!!
  5. We couldn't score on the power play -- big brawl at Gopher goal.
  6. If you're a Gopher fan, you can always watch all the commercials on FSN North during intermission
  7. Anyone monitoring the thread tonight that isn't watching/listening - needing regular game updates?
  8. Don't know the best way to do this, so put comments within PCM's text above
  9. Thanks PCM.. Great summary [ matches my notes pretty closely ] Scott summarized at the end, saying he didn't like the feeling he got that Goetz wanted to "move on" quickly... essentially "wave the white flag" if there isn't an initial sense that the tribes are ready to compromise. Scott feels using more of the 3 yr time frame would give a chance to "let cooler heads prevail" and come up with a "win/win" solution. [Neither of them knew if there might be Tribal elections within the 3 yr time frame] Scott also reminded listeners that the Sioux name was originally bestowed to UND by Elders of the Sioux tribal government. It would be nice if a win/win situation could be found, and hope Goetz & all involved haven't given up on that possibility before the official "process of negotiations" has even been set up! How Goetz organizes this "process of negotiations" could be crucial to the outcome! Hopefully they can find a way to learn how (in Goetz' words) "people of the tribe" feel.
  10. Throughout the interview, Bill Goetz talked repeatedly that it was his "charge" by the Board of Higher Education to set up a step-by-step process of negotiations between 'officials'. Only once, towards the end, did Goetz say [closely paraphrased], "If people of the tribe feel retirement of the logo should take place - then it should be done."
  11. Today (Tuesday) at 11:07 A.M., on WDAY radio [970 AM or WDAY.com] Scott Hennen will have Bill Goetz, Chancelleor of the ND University System, speaking "on the future of the Fighting Sioux name and logo at UND." Scott's online 'teaser' for today's show reads, "Tuesday Hot Talk: Fighting Sioux name done?" Don't know if they'll take callers, but if so - hopefully the voice of reason will prevail!!!
  12. Thanks for more great pics! Looked at them during a break in "Dancing With the Stars", and felt I should be critiquing the moves in the "Josh Murray runs for some tough yardage against Warrior nose tackle Ryan Rothwell" and the "We've got ourselves a convoy! Chappell follows Marcus Tibesar (39), Brett Bauer (76) and Troy Ott (84) around the left end" pictures!!!
  13. From another point of view - all 4 members of our family are proud UND alumni and Fighting Sioux fans (despite a couple having advanced degrees from a big rival school!) After 25 yrs in GF, none of us now live in the area; but we do watch the hockey and football games either at Joe Senser's in the cites or on Midcontinent Cable's fssn feed in South Dakota. There is a huge fan base outside the local viewing area, so we hope games will continue to be available via these sources (ie: not just on WDAZ or in ND markets on network tv)!!! LET'S GO SIOUX !!!
  14. I knew his parents were GF natives, and game audio referred to him as from Grand Forks. After I posted, I saw other posters saying he'd gone to Grand Forks Central - thus the 'quick edit'. Here's the official UND info: (don't know how to post the link) I believe Amesbury is in Massachusetts. Hopefully he won't have to 'carry the ball' or 'cover the backs' alone next week - - but he did ok today! Steven Battle # 1 Running Back - RB Height: 5-10 Weight: 190 Redshirt Freshman Previous Affiliations Amesbury High School Hometown Grand Forks, N.D. 15. Seriously? I don't know. Our fssn coverage signed off & they went back to the cable channel right away anyway, so a 10 minute wait means no comment from the coach!
  16. Sweeney said they wanted to take comments from Dale Lennon after the game, as usual - but evidently the NCAA wouldn't allow it.............
  17. Grand Forks. Don't know which HS. (quick edit - I hear it was Central ) Game over!! SIOUX WIN LAST HOME PLAYOFF GAME FOR AT LEAST 5 YRS ps Doors player of game = Chappell
  18. UND 44, WSU 2 47 sec to go!!!
  19. Battle TD!!!
  20. Battle down to the 2nd yd line! 1st down!
  21. We got it. 'nough said, already!!!
  22. 4 minutes to go, for you without audio...
  23. Not on fssn. They showed Chappell heading alone to locker room on crutches, and also Murray heading off alone - holding his left arm rigid against his side (they had been icing his left shoulder)
  24. TD SIOUX!!!!
  25. Haven't heard a report on that yet on fssn. Last I heard he was laying on bench with ice on left knee. Quick pic of sideline shows Chappell standing with long walking boot and trainer adjusting crutches for him to use - temporarily, I hope! Battle now 41 yds on 11 carries!!!
