Elaborate for me please??
-
Appreciate your advice and wisdom that is on display for all on this thread to see Last time I looked I don't see many people jumping to your defense in this discussion based on your logic (I'll use that term loosely), but I guess I am a loser that does get it!! By the way I can write you a presription if you want one as well! And I don't need details. An arrest is an arrest and 2 of them in a year, well...
-
You seem to miss the point, but from your ranting posts that doesn't suprise me. He has been arrested twice in less than one year. Now for someone with an enabling mentality like yours that might not be a big deal, but when you are a captian of the hockey team, a major representative of the university and community that might be somewhat of a big deal to a few people--Hakstol being one as a suspension was issued. Now does that make Oshie an aweful person--absolutely not, but it can allow for some discussion about personal conduct based on his status within the hockey program, university and community. If this goes over your head, I can draw you a picture.

Really ? I don't think this team can win on the road without him.
-
Break out the Black jerseys I think they'll rally without TJ and play well...enough to win, I don't know?
-
Lack of judgement is sometimes a reflection on someone's character, but I don't think that is the case here. TJ will face the consequences, but he won't bail on his team for a mistake he made. And being out at 2 am in questionable circumstances will make anyone a marked man!
-
I think you are reading too much into that. He had a episode last year. You hope he would have learned from that, but being a previous college student I can see where/how this could happen...again. Hockey is just a game and wins and loses are just that, but you would hope repeat off the ice incidences don't occur especially when your one of the leaders of the team. That is what is disappointing.
-
Not too suprised unfortunately This has been a season, so far, of disappointments bases on potential and this is probably the biggest disappointment of all.
-
Not disagreeing but again when you take into account the returning talent and expectations, they have underachieved, especially defensively. They are still good hockey team, but not playing or have played up to their hype and potential consistantly. Their "easier" upcoming schedule that all have been waiting for still contains all teams in the top 20 minus UAA. Time will tell, especially over the next month+. If splits keep coming we will continue to slip in the pairwise and then who know?? I feel they'll pull it together, but as every weekend has been, this is a huge weekend at SCSU. Minimum split or things could start going in a direction nobody wants to see. They really need to win 5-6 of the next 8 to maintain their pairwise ranking and help secure home ice for the 1st round of the WCHA. That is just the reality of their current situation.
-
Theirs must really bad because ours hasn't be very good!!
-
The next 3-4 series will tell a lot. We will have an "easier" schedule and it won't be "still early" in the season. If UND doesn't at least split on the road and sweep at home during this upcoming stretch, I'll be more disappointed than I'm now. I still think this team's success will be determined by whether the guys on the blueline can figure out how to play physical and consistantly!
-
I can buy what both you and Az are saying, but points for a D man don't always say what they contribute to the team offensively. Marto jumps in and keep the puck in our offensive zone well. I'm just say that based on what I have seen I'd take Marto over Jones most nights. Just play whoever can consistantly man the blue well!!!
-
Based on talent and experience, ahead of last year?? Jones is ok defensively but gives you nothing from an offensive standpoint. Marto looks better everytime out. It would just be nice to see consistant defense instead of what they, as a collective group, have been playing. If Chorney figures out what is going on soon this team will make a leap in wins. When he is out on the ice as much as he is and is just not producing anything that hurt in all aspects. Not saying he is the reason we struggle, but his play has been very disaapointing!!
-
JPL has been solid and one of our most consistant players night in and out. Ride him to get wins!! With the D in front of him, average play from JPL this year would have us at about 5-6 wins.
-
Look at Miller. Should be 2nd line talent and now can't get on the ice because he has be aweful this year. And why doesn't Marto play every night over Jones? I question a true team leader in the locker room to hold the others accountable. Toews and Fabian seemed to have everyone's ear last year.
-
Will be out in western ND bow and pheasant hunting next weekend. I'll take a split, but SCSU has more offensive power than most teams we've seen so far. Getting swept wouldn't shock me. A win on the road in the GREEN sweaters would be nice though on Friday!!!
-
We have a solid, not great, team. This team will not get to where they want to go--FF in Denver unless Chorney and co. start playing up to their talent level. To say they have regressed as a D unit is an understatement. And Oshie is still not 100% after 3 weeks off which is not good. Will UND make the big tourney--yes, but after that??? Potential should start becoming strong play on the ice at this point in the season
-
Give up the tying goal with 3 pre-season All-Americans on the ice I know it is "early" and "still December" but come on
-
Quick 2 cents--the D corps overall have been more than disappointing with Chorney leading that pack What was supposed to be this team's strenghth is now it's weakness. Offense will be inconsistant from game to game, but please explain to me how Chorney and the rest of the D crew can look so aweful at times?? If JPL doesn't play as well as he has so far this team is 6-10-1 at best.
-
Outplayed? Disagree. Thought the Sioux carried play most of the game and were the better team last night. Both goalies played very well. Thought Radke's line looked great for the most part. As did Trupp's line. D was again spotty. Love Chorney but still waiting for him to play to last year's level. He didn't look real good again last night. I thought Oshie still looked a step slower than normal--lingering injury? PK look good. PP not so much. Thought it was finally a good solid, not great, 60 minutes of hockey by UND. Great to see. Expect them to be sharper tonight. With the play of Martens, Radke and Zajac and Malone out is Forney ever going to see the ice? Just love watching Genoway. And JPL...please! I saw better acting at my daughter's 1st grade Christmas program 2 week ago. She thought he was dead and almost started to cry! UNH is solid and we were/are better--bottom line. Hope to say the same thing later tonight. SWEEP!!!
-
Too bad his players had to hear about it thru media outlets instead of Dale himself
-
Throw in some dippin' dots for me and I'll come alone!
-
Exactly. These games are huge. A quality road win for NH would be big for them and a sweep for us would be equally as big. JPL plays both games this weekend.
-
I haven't missed a home game this year so I don't know what to make of this...but the t-shirt and the jersey she'll love!
-
What injury?? Thought his shoulder/ankle issues were behind him?
