  1. I say keep signing them up! Get Kelly on board for 08 (we're pretty stacked at forward already for the 07 class) and then Nolan as a dmen recruit for 2010-2011.
  2. We have some serious competition for that 4th line: Bishop -- good speed Miller -- had a great Fri game against QU, would like to see more of him VandeVelde -- looks to be getting more used to the speed of the WCHA Genoway -- the coaches must like how he is playing, as they are putting him at forward if there aren't any D spots available Forney -- injured for now...but once he comes back, he has the talent to be out there as well Martens -- much like Miller, he looks much improved from last season 6 players vying for 3 spots. I'm really not sure if our 4th line will ever be 'regular' this season, as with all those players trying to get in the lineup, I wouldn't be surprised to see Hakstol shuffle them pretty consistently.
  3. Neutral site.... How about Memorial Stadium?

    Manke

Evidently they interviewed him after the game and he said that he was going to be OK. I didn't hear it though...someone else here mentioned it in the game update thread.
  5. Agreed, that is a coincidence. And considering that Hextall and Mario are both gritty forwards, that seems to be a good trade-off for a recruit. Although with Brett's stats so far, it would seem that he has more scoring upside.

    Any Concern?

I think that the Sioux played well today. What QB controversy?
  7. So the Sioux won't be able to win another title if they have to play on the road in the playoffs? Why's that? Was there any more info on Manke's injury on the radio? What makes you think he is done for the season?
  8. I'm glad I could be of some assistance.
  9. Hextall sounds like a great pickup for the Sioux. I agree that I hope that he comes in for 08.

    Forney

  11. Ryan Miller? The goalie that used to play for MSU? Maybe you meant Brad Miller...

    Forney

I think it is too early to think about him being a glass joe or anything like that. He has played in one collegiate game...and looked decent from what I saw. Nothing flashy, but didn't make any errors that I could see. Hakstol and Co know what they are doing...they will hold him out until they feel that he is ready to be back in the lineup. According to Hakstol, that should just be 1-2 weeks. If they start holding him out longer than that timeframe, then we can start to worry about his injury being worse than thought. Until then, I'm going to trust that he will be fine.
  13. I tend to disagree. I think Porter is poised to have a great senior year. I say leave him on that 2nd line with Kozek and Watkins, and they will produce some points this year.
  14. Or we wait 2 or 3 weeks to see if they are even going to remain a line.
  15. *Didn't have to leave the state for the postseason.
  16. I would love to see 2 Sioux wins this weekend. They did play Connelly in goal in that tie with NMU. That might have had something to due with their tie.
  17. What will the Sioux do if he continues to struggle with the blue chippers?
  18. I'll be in that section as well.
  19. Now that would be a great group of incoming forwards for the next couple years.
  20. Hamilton was playing on defense? Is that where he might be used next year, or just needing to fill a spot? I thought that Miller looked good against Manitoba. He looks like he came ready to play this year. Great to hear about both Bishop and Genoway. Thanks for the recap, PCM.
  21. Hope you didn't scare him away! So both Malone and Nash may have been visiting this weekend? Landing both of those forwards would be a huge boost to the Sioux recruiting classes.
  22. They only return 1 player out of their top 5 scorers from last season. They should still be a tough, hard-working team. I don't expect any team to take them lightly this year with how well they played at the end of last season. But their success is very dependent on Goepfert. If he gets injured, they could go downhill fast, as their backup goalies are both freshmen.
  23. Maybe he will have to stick around for another season until he can work his way into their top 5 prospects.
  24. Thanks for the link!
