  1. It would be awesome to see the Sioux play at I believe it is Sullivan arena....However cost is going to keep most everyone away! I have been to Alaska once and this time of the year is not the time to visit. Go in June when you can read the paper at 3 in the morning...never gets totally dark!!

I'm suprised no one has brought this up in Sioux Nation!! The volcano near UAA may erupt soon which would cause a cancellation in the games between the Sioux and Seawolves and who ever else they play. This would be bad for us if we continue to make a push for the WCHA title and NCAA play-off birth.

Would there be any plans to make this game up? I don't think so because we have no weekends left except this coming one.

Here's story that Kare11 ran Tuesday on the SCSU Huskies trip to Alaska this coming weekend! Let's hope the Sioxu don't have to worry about this too.

  2. Well if we're playing that game...I believe I said it first. jk though, just trying to help someone out who didn't get a chance to see the game. You may want to check if dishnetwork gets Fox College Sports Central though because I'm not sure if they do or not.

Fair enough.....you're right, I'm not sure if dishnetwork gets the game either. I'm excited to watch the first period though. Go Sioux!!

  3. I was out watching the Sundogs game (A. Schneekloth 2 assists for the Eagles) and tried to record my FSSN satellite feed while I was gone. Unfornately I screwed up and didn't get the game recorded. Does anyone know if the game will be repeated on any of the Dishnetwork Fox sport channels? I don't have the the sports package on my DishNetwork subscription, but will add it if I can get see the game. Thanks.

The game will be replayed at midnight central time on Fox College Sports! I'm recording it again because FCS missed the first period due to a women's basketball game! Lame, but I'm glad I saw the other 2 periods.

    GO SIOUX!!!!

  4. I think the Sioux have always suffered from hot goalie syndrome since I started following the team in 1992.

What is that 17 years? I wonder if the KFAN boys will make an appearance this weekend at the long haul saloon?

I just heard on KFAN a few minutes ago PA and The Producer will be making the trip to Grand Forks for their show at the Long Haul Saloon on Friday!

    GO SIOUX!!!!

  5. hmmm....where to watch in the Twin Cities?

Do you Sioux fans in goofer land know if Sensor's can get these games?

Yes, Sensor's in the Twin Cities area will carry the home Sioux games live. I live in the Cities and go there often for the home games. I've been told the Bloomington Sensors has a lot of Sioux fans, but I've only been to the Eagan one.

I won't be there this weekend because I'm making the trip to Sioux Nation for the games!!!

  6. I know it's easy for Sioux fans to dislike Dubay because he would always rip on UND and look down on Grand Forks and North Dakota. But this is bad news for Sioux fans. Dubay brought a lot of attention to college hockey in the Twin Cities market and that brought a lot of exposure to UND and Sioux hockey. It's doubtful his replacement will be as much of a college hockey rube. Will they talk about college hockey as much? Probably not. Will weekend trips to WCHA cities be continued? Probably not. These were little things, but they added excitement and exposure to UND.

I agree that it's bad for Dubay, but at least he'll get the help he needs now. On the note of Sioux hockey exposure.....Dubay may have broughten more exposure to UND and Sioux hockey, but lets be honest here, Sioux fans are the best in the nation!! We bring nation expsoure to ourselves because we travel so well for every away game and we sell out every home game!!! We're die-hard hockey fans! I'd like to see another college hockey rube at KFAN, but I think Sioux fans will be just fine without Dubay!! :D

  7. Yes, both games. b2livetv.com if i remember right i think each game is 5 or 6 bucks

Hey Everyone! Not sure who this will all affect, but it appears that we will be able to see the game on Charter Main Street for the Saturday night game. For everyone in the Twin Cities, I believe that is channel 13 KABL, but not 100% sure though.

Here is a link for the Charter Main Street hockey games. They did a bunch of WCHA games last year. It seems they really only cover the St. Cloud, Manakota and a few Duluth games.

    GO SIOUX!!!

  8. The Tigers failed. Apparently the White Sux are trying to do a black out with their fans or something? Regardless, it's stupid and they are going to lose. GO TWINS!!

(and I was at the series of the White Sux sweep, it was one of the greatest sporting events I've been to winning that 3rd game, it was NUTS)

The Twins sweeping the Sox last week was great! GO TWINS......but I remember an even greater game at REA with a school from Holy Cross and U of M!!! :)

  9. Correct me if I am wrong, but are any UND hockey games that take place over a holiday break ever included?

I don't believe so, so maybe you should feel fortunate that they gave you an opportunity to purchase them anyways. Besides, $10/ticket for what the general public was paying $40/ticket is really fair in my opinion.

I agree with you that $10 a ticket is great!!!! I am no longer a student on campus, but many of my friends still feel that the tickets should have been included in their season ticket package.

I was just trying to make a point that the Ralph needs to give the students a break. The Gopher/Sioux games are the weekend of when students return for 2nd semester. So wouldn't most students be back? Especially the die hard students that love Sioux Hockey?

This is just my opinion......I do appreciate the Ralph still making the tickets available to the students that had already purchased season tickets first!! :)

  10. ya UND messed up the ticket process once again this year. I went down to the Ralph and picked up some Lower Gopher tickets. I asked a Sioux Crew rep about the online deal and she said they changed their mind to do it this way instead and issued a press release... I never saw that.

I agree....the REA continues to screw things up for the students. The whole system needs to be reviewed. Screwing students out of Gopher tickets that bought season tickets is uncalled for. They should have included the Gopher tickets in the package.....but I guess the Ralph will do whatever they can to make an extra buck.

The fighting sioux website did have an update posted a few days ago, but when I looked last night, the press release was gone. Somone must have taken it down to limit the amount of students lining up this morning for single game tickets. But there was a press release......just poorly communicated to students.

  11. Apparently today at 12pm student single game tickets can be bought online. Tomorrow they go on sale at the box offices. Does anyone know what website to use? Ticketmaster, Fightingsioux.com? Thanks and GO SIOUX!

Single game student tickets go on sale today at noon at REA box office. Students are already lining up. I think tomorrow is when they can be purchased online. REA sent out an update saying that single game student tickets are on sale today the 28th from noon to 4pm.

  12. Simple weasels are in charge of things now. What they should be doing, from the Governor to Goetz to alumni to natives who support the name to North Dakotans generally, is working towards getting a vote going on both reservations. There is no reason to get rid of it in less than 3 years. Why get 3 years if you're just going to change in in 6 months? Can anyone say "politcal cover" and "appearances without foundation"? What a bunch of whining, whimpering, spineless, floundering weasels.

I agree!!! They gave us 3 years to work something out. What happened to the cooling off period? It seems there has been everything but a cooling off period and Goetz and his people are just trying to wash their hands of the situation and drop the nickname.

Also, I recall Coach Hakstol saying last spring that now is the time we (as UND and fans) come together to work something out with the Sioux tribes. Why has nothing been done on the University's end? I understand the SBOHE is heading the logo talks, but wouldn't it be wise for UND and the athletic teams to step in and show some support for the nickname? Be pro-active.....I still believe something will be reached with the tribes. I believe some changes will take place, but it's hard for me to believe that the nickname will be gone completely. There are too many alumni that financial support Sioux Athletics that would be pretty upset if the nickname is changed! With UND heading D1

  13. Nice guess. I was wondering when I saw the "new look" coming what it might be. The half basketball/half volleyball at center court wasn't all that attractive anyway.

Does this also mean no "Fighting Sioux" on the ends of the court too? If so, weak move by The Betty.....don't give up on the nickname yet!! :D
