  1. Another penalty on ND! Schneider back in the box! Unsportsmanlike conduct.
  2. Shane Joseph scores on the PP. 2-2 at 17:13.
  3. Sioux are back to full strength. Another penalty on the Sioux.
  4. Fylling scores. 2-1 Sioux. I believe it was 4 on 4.
  5. Penalty on Greene. Hennessy says it could be a penalty shot. Adam is losing control of the game, says Hennessy.
  6. Brandt gets run. Penalty on the Mavs Sorenson.
  7. Porter scores on the power play. 1-1 Now a penalty on Stafford.
  8. Sioux go on the power play. Is this going to be the type of game this is?
  9. I'm listening on the radio, so I'm probably ahead by quite a bit.
  10. Best PK against one of worst PPs and they score.
  11. Penalty on Prpich. Mavs go on the power play again.
  12. Mavs score on the power play.
  13. Mavs go on the power play. Penalty on Brady Murray after Sioux give up a 2-on-1 rush. Good time for a shorthander. How many of those have we just missed on this season? Sounds like Brandt is playing well.
  14. C'mon, boys, we have to pick up the pace!
  15. Beer run?
  16. I've never seen him listed on the line charts as anything but a wing.

    ROTY

That's true, but look how far Matt Greene has progressed in a year. And I don't think Mike Commodore really came into his own until his junior year. Smaby has played like a freshman at times, but the potential is clearly there.
  18. Here are the latest scores from around the league: DU 0, MTU 0 UAA 0, Minnesota 0 UMD 0, CC 0 SCSU 0, Wisconsin 0 Just giving you poop, UMDDogz. I appreciate you starting a separate thread for non-UND scores.
  19. I'm sure you are correct. The problem lies with having different people enforcing a rather vague policy. One person might look at a sign, thinks it's questionable and ban it because it's the safe thing to do. Another person might look at a sign, think it's a bit risque, but funny, and wave it through. And I'm sure you're also correct that signs brought in by students are looked at with greater suspicion than signs brought in by that "charming but matronly fan."
  20. I wish that everyone could have heard Kupchella on Hot Talk with Scott Hennen last week discussing this issue. There were a few times when Hennen referred to "the students" and Kupchella quickly corrected him by saying "the fans." It was very clear that he was going out of his way not to single out students! He also noted that other fans, not only students, had been been removed from Engelstad Arena and had their tickets revoked.
  21. From my perspective in the press box, everyone did get a letter. I could see them all over the arena rolled up and stuck in the cup holders.
  22. Every ticket sold comes with conditions of use printed on the back. Those conditions include not using foul language, which is also a rule in the NCAA ice hockey rule book. The code of conduct is announced (and usually ignored) before every game and is posted on the REA's Web site as follows:
  23. Aaron, my previous post was not directed at you. I applaud your efforts and commend you for them. What you're doing is exactly what's needed. You have my thanks and appreciation. Good luck.
  24. Goon, if you've met Kupchella, talked to him and still don't like him, then I respect your opinion. You can't, however, deny that UND has enjoyed great success in athletics during his tenure. I doubt that he'd take much credit for that. He always gives full credit to Roger Thomas and the Sioux coaches. With UND attracting more research dollars than ever and its enrollment at record levels, I think Kupchella must be doing a few things right. What I find interesting is that at NDSU, President Champan can lead the university over the DI-AA cliff and Bison fans line up like lemmings to follow him over the edge. At UND, Kupchella tells fans that they must start living up to the agreement they make in writing when they purchase tickets for UND athletic events and Sioux fans are ready to tar and feather him and run him out of town on a rail. Anyone who cares about the quality of students and athletes UND attracts should be behind Kupchella's efforts. Anyone who claims to care about maintaining the Fighting Sioux nickname should support him on this. He is not making an unreasonable request. Am I saying that Sioux fans should behave like Bison fans? No. But it would be a refreshing change if Sioux fans and UND alumni would at least give Kupchella the benefit of the doubt now and then.

    The War Comes Home

Former Democratic lieutenant governor Lloyd Omdahl wrote this column in Monday's Grand Forks Herald. This is my response to Lloyd Omdahl's column.
