After reading PCM's post the fans really need to get into the games this weekend.
We need to show the players that we are supportting them and we are proud of them. C'mon Sioux fans! We are better than this! We need to be really loud this weekend! Get drunk if you have to!

There is no way no how that any sane minded person would trade Blais for Lucia. Both good coaches, no doubt. But Blais is a risk taker and I love that part about him and that reason alone puts him above Lucia. Case in point.......Against BC inthe NC game he pulled the goalie with almost four minutes left and almost stole that championship game if it wasn't for Clemenson making an unbelievable save on Whitey Lundbohm rocket in OT. I tjink Blais also pulled the goalie I think in 2000 as well on St. Cloud and almost took the Final five that year as well. Lucia has never done that....that I have seen. Blais is the best in the land....period.

Who do the Sioux having coming in next year or the year after? Is N.D. "Mr. Hockey" Jordan McIntyre on our radar or is he headed elsewhere?
That would be great. Did you see that shot he took against South. That was a big-time shot. That goalie had no chance on that shot.

UND was the best team in the nation last year. They return a ton of talent. Especially on offense. The defense will be fine becasue they just reload. You heard it here first. UND will be national champions! And the smelly bissssson will be b***hing again about how watered down DII is. GO SIOUX!

Yes, I've ben able to save hundreds of dollars in beer and app dollars this year by purchasing the KU band satellite receiver. Atmosphere at home is not as fun as Joe's, however.
I would be interested in soemthing like that. How Much does something like that run? I currently just have cable. I assume you would have to buy the whole package?

Why does it have to be small? That's just your opinion. Mine is that i want to see the big schools who deserve to be in the tournament compete. It would be just as easy to like a school like Nebraska, who doesn't have the traditional basketball success, come out of the early rounds and knock off a big timer like Kansas.
THAT is a cinderella, my friend. Schools like Gonzaga are just distractions and take away from a tournament when a big school could have got in there and been more competitive.

Hey du****s in these parts its bissson. That's all the respect they deserve after not being able to win in the last ten years in DII and blaming everybody else for "bringing down" DII football. Sounds like typical liberalism here boys. Blame everybody else for thier problems. Where were the complaints in the 80's when the bisssson were doing so well? Surely DII was "watered down" then.

Apparently, the city of Fargo as a whole did care about NDSU in 1990 and again in 1994 to tax themselves to allow the building of the FargoDome and Newman Field to be built on NDSU property.
Yeah and since then they haven't done jack squat....except finish dead last in the NCC. Oh excuse me that was last year.

Hallstrom is a putz. Who cares about his opinion on anything? I was listening to 970 radio the other night and came across Jack"I will agree with anything you say, that's a great point caller" Michaels and Hallstrom discusssing the atmosphere for basketball at the REA, and they start comparing it to Williams arena at the U of M...then Hallstrom says that his claim to fame is that he once dunked in Williams arena.
Jack says that he knew that Steve had some hops and I am waiting for details of his high school team playing a game there or something and then Hallstrom provides the details of some friend of a friend letting them in at like 2 in the morning.

You can tell how desperate NDSU and Bison fans have become by the tactics they use. They think they can goad UND into playing them by calling us names and using school yard taunts. Very mature.

Pardon me but I have to keep ranting here. So by his reasoning NDSU should play Oklahoma for the next three years. I mean this logic is mind boggling to me. NDSU bitches and complains for the last 10 years on how DII football is watered down when the fact is they didn't win jack squat in the time frame. And now they want to continue to play DII opponents. I love hipocrits. The best part of the whole deal is how much success they have had over the years in DII and now they are saying DII sucks. I love it. It's like a 5-year old mentality. I can't play or win by the rules so I'm leaving. Incredible.

I lost all respect for the man when I watched the 10pm sports from tonight. He needs to go back to his co-starring role as Cornelius in Charlton Heston's Planet of the Apes and stay away from yellow journalism. To access select WDAY @ 10, then on the first viewing screen hit the next icon (to the left of the volume on the screen), and fast forward to about the 26 minute mark, maybe a bit sooner. He mentions how he is still waiting for a big schedule to be announced, questions Ferris St for football, and says the basketball schedules are the same as this years.
This is absolutly astounding journalism. I mean this is truley groundbreaking material. First and foremost Hallstrom is the worst sports announcer this area has ever seen oustid of Rob Meltzer. Two weeks ago when the Sioux and Gophers were battling it out, the #1 team in the country vs. the #5 team in the country with HUGE national implications riding on the weekend series and he leads off with highschool stuff. I mean UND hockey is the only D1 sport in the state and we can't even get local coverage in Fargo where there are thousands of UND alumni. WHat will UND do without the bisssson? Ah, hint, we never new they were there to begin with. They were just a bump in the road. The more serious question is where will the bissssson be without UND. NDSU wants to be, will always want to be, and will continue to want to be just like UND. Why? UND has tens times the facilties NDSU and UND gets more national exposure, period. Send Halstrom back to Minot or wherever the hell he is from. He's awful. What a loser.

That's damn hilarious. Boy, for not giving a hoot about UND and us fans...they sure are spiteful and spend most of their day whining why UND won't play them. Even if everything they said about UND and its "excuses" were true, WHO CARES??...move on!! They wanted to get away from D2, but all they talk about is why one D2 school won't play them. With all those great teams they will be playing, you would think they would forget about UND.
That's the problem here that SU' people can't get over. It is called infatuation......with UND.

Early on, I too would've said Bochenski is the runaway favorite. But, as a hockey fan, the more I watch Zach play the more I appreciate his ability, which extends far beyond offensive talent.
In the close to 10 years I've been in Grand Forks, I honestly don't recall seeing as complete a player at the college level, nor have I seen as "superstar" who competes to the fullest on every single shift.
IMO, Parise isn't the best player in college hockey strictly because of numbers or offensive ability. He's the best player because, in addition to his offensive talent, he can go an entire game without scoring a single point, and still be far and away the best player on the ice. I don't think you could make that claim with too many other players in the country, including Bochenski.
Parise is a difference-maker in all three zones and that's why I'd give him the nod over players such as Bochenski, Vanek, etc.
Having said that, because of Parise's slow start point-wise, if the season ended right now, my vote would still go to Brandon for the Hobey. But Parise is gaining fast.

This must be why all the teams in the mid con that have football are D1AA. This is also probably why they are agreeing to manage our new D1AA conference.

Many times i've read on here where people say "the only way to know which team is better is if they play each other". SMC has D1 fish to fry. They aren't going to schedule Ferris St.
As far as the marketing ploy... the Fargo tv stations have to do double duty and cover GF since they don't have their own news. The whole point of a ploy is to make someone think something is true when it's false. The news media didn't care whether it was a ploy or not, it was news to them so they aired it.

Sorry to enlighten you but when you have to resurface only one side of the ice in between periods and it was the side that the wisco goalie was on I would say that wisco got outplayed. We just have terrible goaltending. Go Dogs!
