  1. With the recruiting NDSU is getting, I doubt you will be kicking our ass in 5 years. But, as hard as it is to say, NDSU and UND will be very competitive like UM and MSU are, and going back and forth every year. That is a rivalry. But the first 5 years.....I think that we will be bending down and you will be kissing out ass. for the first 5 years

  2. Why don't we try to play teams like Kansas state or Nebraska. We don't have to play big ten schools. We could try to schedule some wac or Big 12 teams. How much do you think a team like Hawaii pays for someone to come play them?

I think you guys can do better than go all the way to Hawaii. But, I'm sure they would pat for you transportation and that should be enough.

  3. Well your football team did get their ass beat by a D-III on their homefield, plus finished with the customary 7-4 record sdsu football calls a successful season. Not to mention you're MBB (the bunnies numero uno sport) is currently battling for recognition as the worst D-I basketball team in the nation. Maybe ndsu is wearing beer goggles but I don't think UND would want you as a dance partner.

You know what, I and many other people were dragging that loss down SDSU's neck and especially before the Marker Game. I didnt believe at all that SDSU was as good as people were talking about, but I found out that saturday that the SDSU football team is for real and could def. beat UND.

  4. I was disappointed when the Big Sky didn't let the Bison in. I'd pony up for Bison season tix if they were in the Big Sky. Once UND goes up a level, NDSU would have a better travel partner. Perhaps the Big Sky will change their minds at that point. It's too bad UND & NDSU didn't go IAA at the same time...

That would have been alright, but I would take SDSU in a heart beat right now. They have been an unbelievable school to travel up with.

  5. I think these number pretty much tell the story of why the tranistion.

Did You Know Facts about Division I Athletics

pretty positive there isnt a womens sport that is 1AA. 1AA/CS is only football.

  6. While Montana was supportive of NDSU and the Big Sky, I can't help it but wonder if they really wanted us in the conference that the Griz rule. Perhaps the same thoughts are in the Gateway too. It really surprises me as I would think that any conference would love a good solid competitor joining rather than a doormat. I guess time will tell..... :)

If we stay in the Great West.....I can surely live with that. I like the teams we are partnered with. It would just be nice to get the auto bid.

sorry, but I do not want to reamain in the great west with the teams in there. Dont get me wrong, I love to watch the BISON play Cal-Davis and Cal Poly. They have become GREAT opponents for us in our transition and cant thank them enough for the games they have given the BISON. But I think it comes down to traveling with SDSU to the Gateway to settle scheduling and getting even better opponents to play, and plus that all important auto. A great rivalry could be made with UNI and a continueing one with SDSU. NDSU and UND could play an ooc game every year going back and forth between the FFD and the tin shed. Travel is a lot less in the Gateway and we can all live hapily ever after!

(this all of course speculateing that the Gateway would except NDSU and SDSU)

  7. NDSU does a better job of marketing its football games because football is number one there, whereas it clearly takes a back seat to hockey at UND in terms of how the two sports are marketed. Secondly, I think you would need to look at ticket prices, two and three-for-one offers, etc. I don't know what NDSU ticket prices were this year, but I believe UND has the highest prices in dII, and probably among the highest even in I-AA. NDSU also plays some night games, which UND doesn't, and night games probably do help crowd sizes since some people work on Saturdays, or just prefer to spend fall Saturday afternoons outside.

Tickets were priced at $20 for season tickets but some were less at like $16 or $18.

I am sure we will have sell outs in the next years to come and they will be just an ordinary thing come the time that we can make it to the playoffs.

  8. Does anybody here know how to post replies on a game thread!? One very big thing is POSTING THE SCORE. No matter how bad a team is playing, you always post the score and the time. I came on here remembering of the playoff game today and just wanted to see what happened and the score.

  9. I'm not making this a big deal.

I call it "knowing your readership." I seriously don't think it behooves the Fargo Forum to put any negative press on its "hometown" collegiate football team when there is nothing NDSU could do to refute it. If NDSU were to pull a Golden Gopher football season in conference, sure, I suppose pointing the finger and rubbing it in may be in order, but NDSU isn't playing in November because of the NCAA rulebook that dictates playoff eligibility for schools that move up in divisions.

We will be in the same boat soon enough. Let it pass.

Then we'll see what North Dakota team is still playing come late november.

  10. ... If the Sioux and the Bison played this year it would most likely be an excellent game that would come right down to the wire like most of those played in the series...

I would rethink that statement if I were you. We are a totally different team then any UND teams have ever faced in the previous rivalry. I'm not trying to sound like all of the other posters who want us to claim a national title, but I am speaking on the truth. This team is no D2 team.

  11. if Delta State wins (a #5 seed in the SE region)....UND WILL HOST!!!! That's the best part!!! :D:lol:??? Interested in coming to the AL for playoff game #10??? :0;)

If there are "dome nazis" or fans that sit on their asses all game long then I don't want to step 100 feet within that place.

  12. here's a suggestion....

BISONVILLE.COM and go talk about the "team that will not be mentioned" there - See what you get? (probably a fire-bombing of your house from LakesBison :D:lol: ) bottom line...if you want to come here and talk about UND's prospects - you're welcome! If you want to re-hash old bison "injustices" - GET LOST!!! We're still in the hunt for a National Championship! (the very one YOU GUYS coveted and BRAGGED ABOUT for SO many years but now seem to piss on ??? ) Get on the bus or get off!!! you decide...but I will NOT accept Bison trollers coming on OUR board to make trouble*!

    (* Note to Jim - YEAH!! It's OUR board :0 )

Wow. Can you take a joke? That is all I was doing is trying to joke about it. (yes, I now know that DSU came to the state of North Dakota in 2004, but I was just commenting on what the NCAA decided over in the playoffs years ago in that situation.) It wasn't supposed to be serious but you seen to take it as a serious statement on drooling over your boards of what happened in 2000. If you are taking that statement serious well....dont! Thats all I have to say.

If you don't know (well, you probably do but..), UND is the sole reason why UNI didnt make the playoffs this year.

  13. talk about PICK YOUR POISON!! :0 an arrogant school that thinks they're the be all/end all of college sports OR the guys that...basically think the same thing! ;) I prefer to focus on a FOOTBALL team that still has SOMETHING to play for!! - GO SIOUX!!

That is where you stop on that subject. You cannot call a school arrogant because of 2 or 3 fans that say that minnesota is our true rival. Right now South Dakota State is our rival and I am proud of it. Some of the BISON fans on the AGS message are making a total fool out of themselves and making all BISON fans look bad. Every school has their share of those kind of fans. I am not one of those people that say "NDSU IS THE BEST FOOTBALL TEAM IN FCS!!" or "WE HAVE THE RIGHT TO CLAIM A NATIONAL CHAMIONSHIP IF WE ARE RANKED #1!!" No, those statements are wrong. I never thought I would, but I am as excited as hell that the BISON are #4 in FCS and won the Great West Football Conference title this year and went 10-1 plus had 19,053 people at the FFD when the BISON played SDSU. Now I do wish UND luck against GVSU and give them hell from the state of Norht Dakota.

  14. It's better to LEAD than follow.....

have a good game against GVSU even though I'll be rooting against you. I hope you show them how tough North Dakota guys are, but lose in the process :D:lol: Just kidding, give 'em hell.
