GOOD LUCK TO THE FARGO SOUTH BRUINS!! Let's get to the finals and bring home another state title!++++
-
Ugghhh! Gothmog, get a clue. You are making yourself and alot of other Bison fans look like bufoons for no reason. Know your role.
I see they still don't require proper spelling or grammar at NDSU...They don't require it at UND as well?
-
NDSU are the insignificant little brothers who will never get over their inferiority complex. Let's stop giving them the attention they so desperately crave. Wouldn't it be great if we could all just forget that they even exist at all? Out of sight, out of mind.
And yet you have been posting on AGS about NDSU? (and you aren't making a good image of the sioux so far on that board.)
-
OK, I'll take 15,000. That's just fine.
Still 3 times as much as the 5k for a playoff game....

Dave Hakstol is the UND HOCKEY coach, not a Minnesota Vikings cheerleader... but you don't see him making arrogant and inaccurate statement that UND hockey is the biggest athletic attraction in the three state area. At some point if you are not an egotistical jerk you must realize your place in the pecking order.
Looking at what BISON footbal did last year, and what sioux hockey is doing this year....I would have to say Coach Bohl is right.

My Bruins win 3-1.

If the gateway didnt invite us (which they pretty much have already) then NDSU would make serious looks at the FBS and the WAC or MVC. 5-10 years down the road I really think that there would be some looks to move up if the right conferences look at us.
-
Even if things go south for the Great West if the SU's leave for the Gateway, why can't a UND/USD combination find similar success in forging their own conference ties for independents like the SU's were able to? Don't forget, the Great West didn't exist prior to the SU's move up. The Great West has served the purpose it was supposed to. I think the U's will be able to do the same until they find a more permanent home.
Any idea of what teams would be in that conference?
-
Mark it down right now. There is absolutely NO chance (read: ZERO) that Bohl gets the Gopher offer.
GOOD! Hope you dont think we want him gone.
-
If that's the reason, they won't like Bohl either.
Well I don't think you can say anything since you have never talked to the guy face to face. He is a great guy that wants to win and is down to earth.
-
How about the guy who just got fired at Miami? Lots of connections in Florida could really help the U become better fast.
Yeah, Larry Coker could be a good fit for Minnesota. Lucky for the goofers there are a lot of options!
-
Lennon would also be a great candidate but doesn't have the D1 background that Bohl has.
You think he would? How would he be? (not in a smacking way, but literally)
-
or do you just want him out of NDSU by the time the sioux play us again?
-
$1,350,000 - Coach Mason
$117,000 - Coach Bohl
IF the U calls Coach Bohl...do you really believe he will decline a $1,000,000 pay raise?

Sure, money talks with a megaphone to your ear, but there are things called doing what is best for you. Minnesota does not recruit well at all. NDSU is going to have the best recruiting year ever. He has got Fargo wrapped around his football team. If he were to choose Minnesota and get that million dollar increase, I am sure that he wouldnt enjoy his job as much as he did now. That is JMO.
-
Bohl would be helluva better coach than Mason. Gopher dans are just being snobs about it. They are gonna get some big name unless they pay though the nose. They could get Bohl for relatively cheap.
You are right with Coach Bohl being better than mason, but it's also involving the fans. Every home game while the players are warming up about 40 mins to an hour before kickoff the student section yells "WE WANT BOHL!!", and everytime we runs across the field and high fives everyone in the first of the student sections. He knows for a fact that we support him and are behind him whether we lose or win. I just doubt that the goofer fans can be like that with how demanding they seemed to be these past couple of years. I do nkow for sure that NDSU's recruiting will be the best it has ever been!
-
To all,
Some conjecture...I remember from the Gopher/Bison game that alot of people at the stadium wished they could have the Bison coach, instead of Mason. Anyone think he has a chance at the position?
BobIwabuchiFan
No. Even if they did put him in the running Coach Bohl wouldn't accept it. Who wants to coach the goofers right now? the fans would riot if the U offered Coach Bohl the job. (goofer fans) Just take a look at what they are saying about him.. Besides, Coach Bohl IMO is devoted to NDSU football right now.

OK,, People...if you wan't to rehash the old days...go to this thread...otherwise...let's talk UND WBB!!!!
-
But you did say that SDSU was for real after you played them, so what is your definition of "FOR REAL"?
Meaning not a team to mess with and not to overlook them. Even though they lost to a DIII team, they were a much different team at the end of the season.
-
The NCAA considers NDSU to be D-II until they've finished their transition.
Nonetheless, you're probably right that North Dakota won't budge much when the two D-II teams complete reclassifying to I-AA (or CS or whatever it's going to be called then). Montana, which arguably has very successful I-AA teams, is only #42 in college football to N.D.'s #44. I'm afraid that to rise to being one the 40 most important states in college football would require a bowl-eligible team.
same reason as to why we arent included in any of the stats. somehow we can get a payton award finalist, but not be included in that stats.
-
If you look at Montana, New Hampshire and Maine...it states the same "no DI or NFL teams."
BTW...it is recent. The article was found on the ESPN College Football front page...today.
Yeah, that is what I meant with not counting FCS teams.
-
Dont worry, guys. I'm on the same boat as not likeing the name change, but I guess I have to go with it. Besides, being in the highest level of championship football is alright. I guess if you take it that way then it is alright. I dont know if you heard the "There's no BS in the CS" motto but that pretty much sums it up.
-
So if you are a good team you don't lose to a DIII team???
I'll let someone from SDSU defend that.
-
Cal-Poly was within 1 point of beating the #2 team in the county at the time in Montana?
Ok...
UND beat the #3 team in the country at the time in UNI.
BTW...why would I ask Cal-Poly? They did not play UND. The only common opponent this season was UNI...therefore they are in a better position than anyone to comment on the "for real"-ness of UND and/or SDSU.
HAVE A HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
Montana stayed #2 throughout the year while UNI dropped big time and never recovered. If your a good team then you wouldn't let a DII loss effect your entire season.
