  1. Congrats are due to the NCC, as all eight conference teams are ranked in the 41 teams in the country. The standings are as such: 6th Place: NDSU - 380 7th Place: UND - 372 10th Place: SDSU - 311 12th Palce: USD - 299 13th Place: MSU-'kato - 296.5 15th Place: UNO - 288.5 37th Place: Augustana - 166.5 41st Place: SCSU - 160 Congrats to the NCC on the fantastic showing thus far.
  2. Pizza Hut and dough? Please tell me that pun was intended. I'm rather glad to see the D2FB message board free. As a college student who realizes that 10 bucks is better spent as 20 meals, I just can't swing 10 bucks on something fun like that, so now that it is free, this will give me a great chance to talk D2 Football with people acrosse the country.
  3. Well the game available on 9/18 got filled, we'll be taking on Western New Mexico. But according to a member over at D2football, looks like St Cloud and UND are both set up for 2005 and 2006.
  4. What about all of the above?
  5. http://www.northernsun.org/Archives/Footba...02/12wsuund.htm I did some more research, and the only #25 that was listed as playing for UND in that game in 2001 was Craig Riendeau.
  6. Another positive for the NCC pulling in Wayne State would be that they would be a natural travel partner for UNO, that would help bring the conference a bit closer to the Mavs (possibly enticing them to stick around should UM-Rolla leave the MIAA). St Thomas has the benift of the Twin Cities market (as does Concordia, St Paul, for that matter). Northern isn't that far from other NCC teams, so it would be good move as far as geography. Also their basketball teams are fairly good, and their football team has some talent (Their QB Korrodi, RS-Freshman put up 380 yards on WSU this year). Winona State is one of the NSIC's top teams in almost every sport. WSU could also become a travel partner for Mankato I know very little about U of Mary, but I know they rank fairly well in the NAIA Sears Cup every year. Slightly off topic: In all the senario's I've been thinking over, I've realized that UND isn't really left with a great travel partner. The best case I can see would be either Mary or Northern. Anyway, I think their are some interesting options for the NCC, it will be interesting to see what they choose to do.
  7. While there are two listed DB's using number 25 from 2001, I feel it's pretty safe to say your talking about Craig Riendeau (He was a senior in '01, the other #25 was a frosh).
  8. The NSIC, to the best of my knowledge and resources, is not looking to merger with the NCC. The only way I'd think you'd see the two conference mold together is if: A) The NCC picks off the top teams to helps sure up the league. B) The NCC falls apart, and the NSIC picks up the remaining teams. Of course this is IMHO.
  9. Huh? Concordia St Paul won 68-56.
  10. The rumor I heard (only one source, and I have no idea on reliablity) the GLVC might be starting a football conference (w/ St Joseph's, UIU). I have no idea if this holds water.
  11. Here's the 2003 List: http://www.cfbnews.com/2004/Columnists/RC/...ce_BarelyDI.htm Ohio Wyoming Louisiana Tech San Jose State Utah State Ball State La.-Lafayette Akron Central Michigan Idaho La.-Monroe Eastern Michigan MTSU Kent State Buffalo Ohio, Wyoming, La Tech, and SJSU are above 15K, but not by much. UConn is up considerably (to about 35K a game).
  12. Really? Ask SDSU how their attempt against the speed bump went.
  13. Agreed. The WVIAC, PSAC and NE-10 should be little more than speed bumps for IUP. It should be interesting to see how things play out in that division (or in the Northwest and South for that matter).
  14. Speaking of the regions, how do they all realign next year? I know the Northwest is the NSIC, NCC, GLIAC, and GNAC. I know that the MIAA is moving to the South. What else am I missing?
  15. Winona State is definately a program on the rise (but perhaps I'm bias ). True, we do lose some talented seniors, but we still have a lot of talent. I'm looking forward to the spring game to see what shakes down in spring practice, but I have all the faith in the world in Coach Sawyer and his staff. We'll have a quality team on the field once again this year.
  16. Maybe they will, maybe they won't. The company that the Metro Sports Facilities Commission (the people who run the 'dome) had contracted with, SRI Sports, recently filled for bankruptcy. It's unclear at this point if SRI will still finish the job, or they will contract with someone else. SRI is the company that made AstroPlay, maybe taken to court to pay the 150,000 dollar difference between AstroPlay's bid, and FieldTurf's bid. Here are a few good links on the story: http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/sportsbusin...tory?id=1737305 http://www.startribune.com/stories/509/4376474.html The installation was scheduled to start on March 15th, and be ready by the Twins home opener on April 5th. From the Star-Trib article, a FieldTurf executive said that they could step in, but 'time is of the essence'.
  17. Ok, I hate to nag, but please turn off your 'caps lock'. By leaving it on, it seems as though you are shouting. And as for the 'no game like it in the Upper Midwest' thought, what about Iowa/Iowa State, or while not confined to a single state, Minnesota versus Wisconsin. Plus I believe it is worth more (in the strength of schedule) for the Sioux to schedule UM-Crookston and crush them, than it is to play NDSU (I'm not exactly sure, my computer is having problems opening the NCAA rule book).
  18. The team plays on FieldTurf (unlike the Gophers, we got our turf down well before the company went under!)
  19. http://www.afca.com/lev2.cfm/317 You're looking...we're looking. Think of it this way, at least we're an in-region, and a relatively decent team (after all, we were 1:52 from taking you in the playoffs).
  20. Here's the Upper Iowa schedule, as they are playing a few teams from the region (and 3 from the NCC): 8/28 at Missouri-Rolla Rolla, Mo. TBA 9/4 Wisconsin-Oshkosh Fayette TBA 9/11 William Penn Fayette TBA 9/18 at Southwest Minnesota State Marshall, Minn. TBA 9/25 at Minnesota-Duluth Duluth, Minn. TBA 10/2 St. Joseph's Fayette TBA 10/9 Waldorf (Homecoming) Fayette TBA 10/16 at Minnesota-Mankato Mankato, Minn. TBA 10/23 South Dakota Fayette TBA 11/6 at Drake Des Moines, Iowa TBA
  21. According to this link, UMD had an athletic budget more than twice that of any other conference school (5.1 Million) And as so far as dominating the NSIC, UMD has won the past 10 NSIC All-Sports Competitions ('94, 95', '96, '97, '98, '99, '00, '01, '02, '03). They may not have dominated in the 'major' sports (football, and men's basketball): 3 titles in football, 3 in men's b-ball, but they have been solid in other sports: Women's Volleyball, Women's Basketball, as well as fantastic men's and women's track teams.
  22. Yea, a bunch more. UNA's stadium seats about 14K, and Winona's can seat about 4K, plus standing room for about 1.5 to 2K. And trust me, I would have LOVED to have seen a team from the south come up to play in a Upper Midwest winter. That would have played hugely in our favor. Anyway, good luck Fighting Sioux.
  23. The NCAA wasn't going to allow UNA to play 4 consecutive playoff games at home, even if that ment sending them to Winona.
  24. Just to answer some thoughts: YES, I'M A TERRIBLE ANNOUNCER I realize this. Since no one teaches me a thing about it, I take my best shot. (FYI, broadcasting isn't what I'm going into, which is good, because based on this boards reactions I suck) However to clairfy, I wasn't the one who said anything about a blowout or luck, those were both my partner. Also, Winona does have a professional team broadcasting the games, but it isn't broadcast over the web. Great game, UND. Good Luck next week.
  25. Sorry, I've been busy. I'll try to get something up by late Thursday. Oh, and Warrior41, GREAT break down.
