Just got home from the games. Women won, but didn't play well AT ALL!!!! 33% FG for the game. The men were AWESOME though. Sure makes you feel bad that they played that hard and lost. They did, however, play the #1 team in the conference and the #6 team in the nation to 1 point. Very impressive performance by the men!!

I agree it was a pretty dumb thing to say. That little guard shouldn't open her mouth and add more fuel to the fire. You can bet that UND does feel a little better now that we have beat St Cloud once but you KNOW they aren't going to settle for that. And her making a comment like that.......Oy Veh. Ulferts is definetly a class act. She said in a pre-game interview (I think, maybe it was at halftime) that UND has great depth and all that jazz. She also mentioned that Carissa Jahner is the best defensive player she had EVER seen. Not something you expect from an opposing coach.

I don't think we'll have it easy at their house, but I'm not so sure it's going to be all that tough!! I don't think they can beat us mostly because they don't have the bench. Like was mentioned earlier their bench only scored 2 points. We also had to play some pretty terrible basketball the first 10 minutes of that game to get behind as well!! They don't have the depth to stay in the game. If everyone noticed, Quigley was pretty tired that second half after playing pretty much the whole first half. If that is their strategy to beat us on their own court they're gonna have to do some MAJOR conditioning in the next few weeks. If you think about it we, UND, only played about a 30 minute game and we won by 20, granted they fouled us 2 or 3 times in the end of game but that still only adds up to, I believe 5 points as we missed one FT shot. So we beat them by 15 and we were tied at the half after coming back from a deficit. Imagine what can happen when we don't have the nerves that we had the beginning of that game. Good Luck tonite Gals. But aparently Mankato won't be as tough as SCSU. Who knows what'll happen though!

Although I have been born and raised in GF, I MUST agree BIGSIOUX!!! My dad grew up there and the stories he has to tell........ I always LOVE going to see my grandma! Good times.....took my fiancee there for the first time a couple weeks ago and he was AMAZED that there was only ONE grocery store. :-p He didn't know what to do with himself!!

I have seen the Mens basketball team and, frankly, they have done a 180 from the past few seasons. Yes, they need a bit of fine tuning, but as Coach Jones' first season, I believe he has done a very good job in making the games at least somewhat exciting. I no longer feel the urge to leave after the womens game because I know I am in for a boring game. The team has added a spark this year. They have beat teams this year that last year kicked the heck out of them. I would say that's improvement. Of course they're not going to be a top calibur team in the first year with a new head coach and a new assistant coach, what do you expect with all new staff? Give them a break and let them make their own way without your judgement already. The pre-season isn't even over.

K, here's the thing.....UND will always produce the Doctors, Lawyers, and Pilots. NDSU will always produce the farmers and the engineers. Although UND also has engineering and both schools have multiple programs that intertwine, THESE are what the schools are KNOWN for....can we stop arguing about which school is academically better, because we will never come to a resolution on that, and get back to talking about sports?
