  1. Coach Hakstol's name was mis-spelled in the blurb? That's ridiculous. I call for a boycott of Red Baron pizza!

I'll boycott. What do you suppose it would take to make it a Papa Murphy's Final Five! :D

  2. Ask USC's Matt Lienhart how that turned out for him. April 2005, consensus #1 draft pick, stays at USC. April 2006, number 10 pick. 2005 Contracts. #1 Alex Smith 6 yrs, $49.5Million. #10 Mike Williams 5 yrs, $13.5Million. I know we're not talking these kinds of numbers for JPar, but the point is that these kids need to strike while the iron's hot. This Sioux fan will never begrudge them of that.

I would never look poorly at a player that opted to leave early. I am happy for them, that they have found success beyond their college years. I'm just curious because I do not have any idea what the other guys have to offer as far as their deals go.

  3. of course he will be in the AHL then move up like any other player , and yes if you personally think you will recieve your top contract as a non drafted free agent then yes it is worth leaving early. no doubt about it in my eyes. its a tough situation as a fan but most of these kids are at UND to prepare for the pro ranks and jordy has done that very well. either way he has been a great person and goalie at UND and whatever he chooses to do he will succeed. i have thought since the frozen 4 ended that jordy was gone and stickin with it. no other reason other than he has turned into a hell of a goalie from where he started out and i feel he is ready to go pro. if he does leave then its phils time to shine and i have full confidence that he will be great and if he does get a shot he may play 30 games and be the main and only option depending on what other goalie we get to replace jordy. either way i cant wait for october..........

I agree that UND is a stepping stone to launch a career for our players and it's a great one at that. I also have thought that Jordy would be gone by next year, but without being in Jordys shoes/skates "any deal that you can get" sounds scary...but I also know it's what our guys have dreamed about doing for their entire hockey life.

Without being drafted, what are these deals like?

  4. Parise can't sign with anyone until July 1, but he did say he would take any deal that he could get.

Which would just put him somewhere in the AHL?

Also, does "any deal that you can get" beat your final year in college with the possibility of another shot at the Frozen Four? :D

  5. I am a season ticket holder in the lower bowl, section 113, right behind the goalie. I love my seats and would hate to be moved for student seating. I've been there since day 1, and would have a hard time accepting a move. :D Sioux-cia is also in my section and I think she feels the same way.

I don't have any info renewal yet, but I think we have until July 1 to renew. Not 100% on that date though.

  6. While watching the Oilers game and the announcers also mentioned Matt Greene as being from the "NCAA collegiate powerhouse North Dakota". :D It's great to hear these guys talking about the college teams that the players are coming from. You hear lots of WCHA names.

  7. Here's a new spin on things. Instead of wanting to cry because you saw Sparky somewhere, why don't we all be happy for him. He spent two wonderful years at UND, but now he has chosen to "go home" to Europe to play and to be with his family, and to start a new life for him and his his fiance. I too, am sorry to see him leave, but he is doing what he feels is right.

Good luck to you Sparky, you will be missed, but I hope to hear good things about your career in hockey.

    Godspeed.

  8. Goaltending should be ok as well. We will see what happens with Parise. If he leaves, I am still confident in Lammy's ability, Hakstol would just have to find another goalie recruit before fall.

I know we need 3 goalies, but if Parise leaves, does anyone expect to see Walski. I don't recall seeing him. except in warm-ups, so other than his high school career, I dont know how he is, or what his capabilities are.

  9. I have been on these message boards for about 2 months now and the reason I got on is because I love the SIoux (as do we all) Anyway when I first got on people were talking nothing but good things about the Sioux. Than all of a sudden people started to argure with eachother and Sioux fans are calling other Sioux fans names. I think everone has done that even me. Anyway I was talking to Kyle Radke and i asked him if he goes on here he said he did but people started to get mad at each other so now he tries to stay away from here. That is not good. I understand yelling at people who go on here just to be retarted like gopher fans and we start yelling at them. But when we yell at eachother that's not cool :D This is not how a Sioux Fan should act. It is the rules of Sioux-fan-hood. So all I 'm asking is that for us to stop the fighting why can't we all just get along! :0

Didn't you just say all of this in post #29?

    Opinions/name calling/arguements...it's what it's all about. Now...shouldn't you be in school? :0

  10. The best goalie you have EVER seen? Been watching the game long?

I'm not sure what you're defiant about, but maybe you can 'definitely' see Parise being a captain next year. I, however, cannot.

Well said MafiaMan, I agree with everything in your post.

Too bad this doesn't have spell check!! :D
