  1. Oh oh not good when HockeyMom starts looking for a shake up. An interesting stat is this. GOALS BY PERIOD 1 2 3 OT Total ------------------------------------------- UND................. 1 2 3 0 - 6 Opponents........ 11 8 3 0 - 22 SAVES BY PERIOD 1 2 3 OT Total ------------------------------------------- UND................. 48 58 71 0 - 177 Opponents........ 25 54 33 0 - 112 UND need to start playing the 3rd period in the 1st. Is it freshman jitters contributing to the slow starts? They certainly seem to be playing much better by the 3rd. They need to play with that intensity for 60 minutes.
  2. Maybe Sunday. We did score a goal but lost 8-1.
  3. Well UND did not land a Team Canada coach and her connections. Besides Cornell did and how good are they?
  4. Looked like UMD were going to the net in waves!
  5. Comparing the 2 losses by both teams to UMD Minnesota was outshot 80-53 and Kehler gave up 9 goals. They were able to score twice on UMD. UND was outshot 72-35 and Kirkham gave up 9 as well. Obviously MSU was able to generate more offense than UND against a speedy Duluth team. Against UMD the Sioux had trouble getting the puck out of their end while enoying power play's I agree Kehler is a fine goalie who has faced top competition her 1st few games out. I am thinking that MSU will have a slight edge offensively and would expect that it will come down to # of penalties and goaltending. I do think the games will be close. I would be suprised if they are high scoring.
  6. 2-0 UMD in the 1st. Game is on 610 kdal
  7. Sounds like a rough game! Sioux applying more pressure in the 3rd.
  8. Goaltending helped give them the opportunity to win and the team made the most of it by putting the puck in the net. Some of those goals came on 2nd and third effort. It was exciting to watch.
  9. There was a news release a while back about one of the local radio stations broadcasting the women's home games. Does anyone know what station that might be? Thanks in advance!
  10. From NCAA womens hockey report "North Dakota, which graduated the first recruited class in the program's history, welcomes 11 freshmen -- which should give you an idea of the challenge faced by coach Shantel Rivard. But the Fighting Sioux do return their top scorers in sophomores Melissa Jacques (Cooks Creek, Minn.) and Samantha Bowers (Littleton, Colo.), while junior Randi Motsko (Fairbanks, Alaska) is expected to show significant improvement at forward."
  11. Anyone seen the team on the ice yet? If so how are they looking?
  12. Well this season is over. Hopefully with 7-8 new freshmen coming on board for 06/07 the atmosphere and team chemistry improve.
