  1. So I asked about the video of Fabian rearranging old boy's face...here is the answer: The ECHL owns all rights to game videos and teams are not permitted to use them for promotional or other uses outside of reviewing film for scouting purposes. On the bright side, they are checking into whether or not they can allow me to have a copy of the portion in which the fight occurred. The best part is that I asked the question last night at our open hockey night and one of the Seawolves players was out skating around with us before we started. When he found out that I asked the A/V guy about the video he approached me and wanted to know why I wanted a video of a Seawolf getting beat down. I have no idea who the guy was, but I could tell he was not happy and I am glad that he left the ice once we got started....BIG SOB!!! Anyone find any good pics of John Marks yet?
  2. Geaux Sioux--- If they end up playing at SELA you and I will have to head up the tailgating committee for that game....I live near Biloxi and the drive over there can't be more than an hour or so.
  3. Well, I would love to say that we are about to start our traditional second half push for the post-season, but I have a sick feeling that we are going to be found wanting more Sioux hockey than we are going to be seeing. I hope I am wrong and Hak can get this group geared up for what proves to be a tough and potentially rewarding schedule, I just have my doubts. The one bright spot that I see in our future is the chance to make the post-season and ride a hot goalie like DU did a few years back. In order for that to happen we are going to need Chorney and the D to step up their game, take care of the puck and show some hustle. I am tired of seeing the defense taking their time in getting to loose pucks as if they are daring the forecheckers to take it from them. My question to that is WHY? Just go out their, hustle and dominate someone instead of playing down to their level or even giving them a chance!
  4. I don't think it has been posted, but I work with a guy whose son does the video for the Seawolves home games and I will check to see if he can get me a copy or post it somewhere to be seen. I am going to have a copy of this picture with me the next time the Ice Pilots come to town and see if Eric will sign it for me. Now if I can find a sweet picture of John Marks I'd try and get him to sign one for me too. Anyone have any ideas?
  5. Here is a link to a picture of Eric Fabian busting that dude's ass! You can see a sequence of the entire fight on the website. They make it look like the Seawolf came out on top, but trust m, Fabian absolutely dusted this dude....the look on his face in this picture tells the whole story. Too bad he can't give our boys that kind of fighting spirit for this year! http://msseawolves.com/multimedia/gallerie...id=111&t=12
  6. Anyone have any thoughts about him running the program?
  7. They didn't just throw out some Sioux stuff. They also threw out things like a Troy Aikman autographed UCLA jersey, Kirby Puckett autographed Twins jersey and a bunch of other stuff that the employees all split up amongst themselves. My friend snagged most of the Sioux stuff to include the Casey jersey, Hrkac and Kidd sticks. It sounded to me like the story you hear about the little old lady that wanted to sell her old Chevy for $1000 and it turns out to be a 67' Camaro in mint condition.
  8. Any idea what the value would be on a game worn Jon Casey home jersey? It is not autographed and the owner wants to know if washing it in order to make it wearable would depreciate the value or if they should just have it framed. By the way, a certain establishment in the GF area is renovating and the manager told them to throw out all of the old memorabilia to include some autographed sticks (Ian Kidd, Hrkac, Joyce and others from the 1987 team). Thanks
  9. Whoever feels like the PA announcer should be a consumate professional and not play to the home crowd is a moron! Do these people also feel that it is unprofessional that there is a disparity between the way the two starting lineups are introduced? Should we play a Gopher video too? Goliath just hates the fact that David has the best venue (dare I say PALACE?) in all of college hockey! Stop hating on the banners that hang from our hallowed rafters and get more of your own!
  10. The PA Announcer at The Ralph: "...and Holy Cross is off this weekend." BEAUTIFUL!!! "F" THE GOPHERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  11. Did some research, the guy that Fabian bashed was Mike Hartwick...Dartmouth guy.
  12. The ice here (Biloxi) is pretty bad. I know when the kids have the ice they get it in blocks of four to five hours and they never run the zam over it in between sessions. It gets pretty torn up and I imagine that can't be good for the sheet. When we have open hockey the ice is never zammed before we come out, only scraped from the last skate. The only time I have seen them run the zam is before and during the Sea Wolves games. Other than that I think they only scrape it. There are all kinds of high and low spots and huge grooves or holes where you can tell that the ice is clearly neglected. Of course, the guy that runs the arena has already come out and told us (the local hockey assn) that hockey is his last priority and he could care less if it sat empty versus have anything going on at all. This is a fairly common sentiment across the region (Jackson, Baton Rouge, New Orleans, etc...). I would have to say that the closest good hockey town to us is Nashville or Huntsville; each of which is about 6 hours away. The big arguement around here is that "you can always play inline;" NO THANKS! Anyway, at $250 an hour for ice, you would think they could at least run the zam over it! Oh yeah, our arena (Mississippi Coast Coliseum) is generally pretty warm inside. When you skate through the slot on both ends you can feel the warm air flowing through the arena. Especially last Sunday when it was still 70 outside while we were skating at 9:00 PM.
  13. $#!T...maybe it is from the 82' team. I easily recognize the Eades and Murray autographs and neither of them was on the 83' squad. The easily recognizeable autographs are in green sharpie; unfortunately some of the autographs were done in pen and they are nearly gone. By the way, I was going through my 75 Years of Sioux Hockey book and they have completely left Jon Casey off of the all time roster! I'll try and get some pics of the stick posted on here to share with you guys.
  14. Is there a place where I can find the complete roster from both of those seasons to see all the names to identify the autographs? There are a few that I easily recognize, but some of the others are tough to ID. Thanks
  15. Interestingly enough I have a stick (Christian Bros...of course) autographed by the 1983 team and coaches...any idea what that would be worth? Put it this way, if you had to insure it as a collectible, what would you list the value as? I won the stick at a Meet the Sioux event when I was eight years old. Glad Mom and Dad never let me use it down at Riverside Park!
  16. I actually live near Biloxi and even worse for me, the Sea Wolves are our local team. So, between them and the Ice Pilots, I don't know who is worse! We actually have a guy who is the third goalie for the Sea Wolves come out and play in our open hockey nights and he is terrible. Anyway, I'll keep going on occassion just to take care of my live hockey fix and to hopefully keep my sons interested in playing. I think next time the Ice Pilots roll in to town that I'll have to bust out the Sioux jersey and sit near their bench...did you know that John Marks is their head coach?
  17. Fabian came in and jabbed at a loose puck and the defenseman hit him pretty late. Fabian popped him with the gloves on and as soon as the defenseman dropped his gloves it was all over but the crying. I'm here to tell you, he whipped that guys ass and bloodied him up pretty bad. The trainer came running out and took the guy straight to the locker room and I don't recall seeing him back on the ice the rest of the game. That was the first ECHL game I have been to and like I said, the hockey wasn't all that great, but there was alot of big hits and several fights throughout the game.
  18. I went to a Pensacola Ice Pilots game last week and about 7 minutes into the game there was the most lopsided beat down I have seen in person at a hockey game. When it was all said and done, the guy from the Mississippi Sea Wolves was a bloody mess. He looked like Ric Flair after a cage match! Much to my surprise, when they announced the penalties the guy that did the beating down was ERIK FABIAN! I got goose bumps and had flashbacks to Jim Archibald, Dan Brennan and Carey Eades! By the way Fabian plays for the Pensacola Ice Pilots in the ECHL and the NHL Network features games from this league...not the best hockey to watch, but worth watching and seeing how a few former Sioux and other WCHAers are doing.
  19. Is anyone going to be able to post that fight from 82' on youtube?
  20. http://youtube.com/watch?v=VuObGwCX4BQ This is the only close to what I am looking for. Would like to find more of these. My favorite one still has to be when the Gophers came to town and Belfour came on at the end and gave the definition of a gopher.
  21. No, that's not the one I was thinking about. Thanks for the reply though. The vids I am talking about are the ones that include the highlights and whatnot that they play just before introducing the starting lineups.
  22. Does anyone know where to get the pregame videos from the Ralph other than the few on youtube?
  23. Of course during my freshman year in college they won it all for the first time in 1994, in a great game against VERY good Central team led by both Panzers.
  24. Scratch that, I was going off of the PWR that CSTV had on the broadcast. After looking at it again, it should have been the RPI was at 7; which obviously changes from week to week depending on what your previous competition did. My bad, I'll be sure to double check this info before posting on it in the future.
