Now that I have your attention, My outlaws from Grand Forks are coming down to visit next weekend. We have tickets to the scsu series. More than likely I will be attending the Saturday night game. If anyone wants to stop over and say HI I will be fugly looking guy with a Gopher hat on.

C'mon, people. Does anybody seriously believe that the WCHA would deliberately do this again if UND makes the Final Five?
PCM, I firmly believe the WCHA would do it again. We all know that there is a massive conspiracy against UND. It starts with the wcha officials headed by that b@stard Shepherd which runs everything through McLeod who is taking orders from Don Lucia. Lucia is in coohoots with the NCAA (which is why they will not drop the lawsuit). Actually way back in 2001 when the ncaa started its anti-Native American imagery parade against all universities using said imagery, in truth it was just a front to attack UND and the fighting sioux name. Matter of fact, when Congress requested the ncaa to start investigating colleges/universities using native American imagery the leading House of Representative was from South St. Paul Minnesota who just happened to be boyhood friends with Doug Woog, Herb Brooks, and another individual who works for the CIA but needs to stay nameless. In the late 70's is when these 4 got together and started the conspiracy wheels in motion. The end result was to take down UND and let the university of Minnesota dominate. As evidenced of the multiple university of minnesota national champions during the 80's and 90's the conspiracy was worked like clockwork.

It was an honest mistake. More than likely Schwans Foods aka Red Baron Pizza executives had decided to have a sales/marketing firm in Chicago, NewYork City, or Dallas design the poster. My assumption is that the emloyees of these firms have little to no interest in college hockey let alone any of the actual teams playing in a post-season tournament 1000 miles away.

I like the part of "big city snobs" Especially considering the Final 5 sponsor was Red Baron pizza whom is part of the Schwan Companies which is based in the booming metropolis of Marshall, MN population of 13,000. My guess is that all 13,000 residents of Marshall are "big city snobs" -

That is a hell of a question. No doubt he had big shoes to fill following Blais. I think it is too early in his career to answer that question. No doubt he is one of the upper echelon coaches in college hockey. If he stays 10 years and wins a couple of national titles he will go down as one of the great's similar to Blais & Gasparini. If he stays and does not win any titiles he will be remembered as UND's version of Doug Woog.

Dude I can't relax, I'm gonna be on edge until I hear for sure that they are in. I wish they could have played with the type of intensity they have now earlier in the season.
Realistically for UND to not make the ncaa's they would have to completly tank it the rest of the way. Which I really do not see that happening. I think it is just a matter of what region UND will be in.

Chris Porter has played in 164 consecutive games for UND. The conference record is 171, shared by John Johannson (UW 80-84) and Calvin Elfring (CC 94-98).
The regular season will get Chris to 168, assuming nothing crazy happens. So there are a number of ways Chris can set the record with a little playoff success (the most number of playoff games we could play would be 10, counting WCHA and NCAA tournaments). Hopefully the boys will keep taking it one game at a time and put Porter into the record books!

When was the last time the Sioux have failed to make the big tourney? My stomach turns at the thought of it happening.
Relax, your squad will be in the "big dance". I think UND is 8th in the pairwise?? but add back the .003 they drop to 12th. Either way, UND makes it unless they get swept the next 2 weekends (which will not happen) and they don't win the First Final 5 series.
I think UND will be a possible 3 or even a #2 seed.

Maybe I've got it wrong, but I don't see taking a grudge against a new teammate. That's got to be a bad thing for the team.
Punk-o-bitch is a hack and deserves to have his ass kicked but I don't think it will be from a team mate. Maybe Boogaard but I would not think Greene would, especially if they are team mates

Ok, So i'm now new to ss.com I have been a "lurker" for 2 years now just reading and mainly laughing. I have had some insight into situations in the past, but have felt to not join on to air my opinions. I have now found a reason to join. While following the link to the UMD discussion board, I found DHG's grossly inappropriate comments more than compelling for me to join on and air my views as to how horrible these are. I just couldn't believe it how retarded someone can be to make light of a life threatening situation, and in that manner. "Neck brace night at the ralph."

If I am a potential Canadian recruit reading the @#$* some of you are posting in this thread I would have second thoughts about the CHL option instead. Sorry but a citation for getting caught in a bar at age 18 and older is not going to be taken seriously by any Canadian kid that I have ever known. The punishments and consequences some of you are suggesting for something so minor could get you an unfortunate response from a player like "C ya".
However, getting freebies and kickbacks that you aren't entitled to will get you kicked out of most Canadian organizations too. Like it or not the two issues are Apples and Oranges.
We don't really know yet. Maybe Judy's has been giving freebies & kickbacks for the hockey players. That is the last thing UND needs right now is potential ncaa sanctions. Like I said, if this was an isolated incident then it is clearly not apples to oranges

This is borderline ridiculous--ahh take that back it is ridiculous. This is an under-age consumption of alcohol. Big bleepin deal. Happens all the time. I do think that Toews & Oshie should have known better. Everybody knows who these guys are it's GRAND FORKS for god's sake. Matt Green's dui is 100 times worse than this. Damn, if I put on a performance like these 2 did last weekend I would go out and celebrate to. For that JT & TJ I am in your corner( unless Hackstoll wants to suspend them for the rest of the season so the Gophers could actually win a meaningless 3rd place game at the X

I really do not know what your problem with me is. I would honestly like to know. If you want to spout off saying "NOONE takes you seriously" is fine. But essentially calling me a troll or a skippy or whatever term that is used here is completly unfair. If I was on here spewing garbage and causing a major rucus, that I could understand. Matter of fact I have even started threads basically saying "keep the chin up, your team will turn things around, giving praise to UND for last weekend's performance" This ws during the tech series in Grand Froks. Furthermore, I read that a good majority of the posters here do like my input, they like my classy posts and they wish I would stick around. Hell even Redwing77 stood up for me and stated don't lump me into the group of other trolls/skippies that come on here to be an a-hole, d-bag, jag off.

Minnesota still controls their destiny and I suspect they will win the WCHA but:
I think that Wisconsin doesn't have the team to compete this year.
CC has a brutal schedule with WI, UMTC, SCCC, DU, and MSU
SCCC has UND, WI, CC, UMTC
DU has UMD, Tech, CC, and UND
Basically I think that UND will be playing their last 2 series with a change to pas that team. Give how certain teams are set up to knock each other off, UND could still VERY easily end up in 2nd place. The Tech series really hurts, because with those 4 points we could be talking about 1st.
Really in the WCHA, the most important thing is that you get 3rd or better, ans that is very possible, just take care of business vs. UMD and MSU.
By splitting with DU / SCSU I predict the following scenario:
UMN 28 40
SCSU 28 36
Denver 28 33
UND 28 32
CC 28 31
UW 28 29
MTech 28 23
AA 28 21
Mankato 28 18
UMD 28 17
Now if we sweep either of those series we pass who we swept.
The last 2 series of the year DU & SCSU will be a make or break for UND. The way are playing a sweep of msu & umd is darn near in the bag. That will give them 28 points going into the the DU & SCSU series. Even if they split both they end up at 32 wcha points. Really you want to be in the top 4 to avoid the play-in-game.

Never had a problem in any arena. I don't go spouting my mouth off looking for trouble. I feel very confident that I wll not have any problems. Plus 6'4" 250# helps matter to.
