Not even close! The "screaming eagle" practically has a smile on his face. It's not a true template-tastic logo unless the bird is angry.
Can someone help me out and send me a link to where I can find out what the logo means, represents. I know each feather means something and I need to cite my work for my paper I am writing reagrding UND keeping the name. I just cna not find it right now. Thanks to all who help. Go Sioux and SIOUX forever!

Insert smug comment here about watching the Gophers play for one but seeing STL 2005 #1 pick TJ Oshie win it.
Good Point. That would be fun a Goofs-Sioux Title game. That would be a great game. But Holy Cross will beat them out again. Go Crusaders!!!

Great article and thanks for sharing it. I think that is great news for the Sioux. I think if they can keep Towes that they should be able to compete again next year. Did anyone else notice that the St. Louis Blues President basically said that the Goofs will be in St. Louis to play for a national title. That struck me as odd for him to say.

It sounds to me like the Blues President thinks Gopher fans should already booking theri flights to St.Louis for the Frozen 4? I do not think that will happen, they did lose some key players and if Toews and Oshie return I like our chances. Go Sioux. I hate those damn Gophers!

I believe it. As far as Oshie, he stays, Toews is still a ?. Wouldn't be shocked if he left, but would be overjoyed if he were to stay.
I think they both stay, Toews has pretty much said that he was staying and that he would be at UND for at least 1 more year.

Alright then, another piece of the puzzle gone. If we lose Toews or Oshie it might be a long season for us. Lets hope they stay put.

Goehring is one of my favorite Sioux players, but you have to give Parise his due. The high-scoring teams Karl played on won three WCHA championships. In 2000, the Sioux finished second in the WCHA and won a national championship.
In 2004, the year the Sioux probably should have won a national championship with Parise in goal, they lost 1-0 to Denver at the West Regionals. Was that Jordan's fault? No.
The past two seasons, UND finished fourth and fifth in the WCHA. Parise was a big part of the Sioux making it to the Frozen Four both years.
Even if Jordan leaves after this season, his name will be at the top of the Sioux goalie career record stats for years to come.
I have a question, when do players have to make a decision by? When do the Sioux start training for their season? I am just not sure how many more loses this team can have and still have a quality season next year, I was hoping to go to St. Louis and cheer for the Sioux again.

It's not like UND is out promoting themselves and saying "look at us". They are fighting the battle and the attention is coming to them. I see no issues with that.

Great article. I think people throughout the country are starting to get it. I just hope now the NCAA sees taht there are loads of people that think they are being ridiculous. Maybe they will eventually back down(what was I thinking, they would never.).
Let me ask a question, my mother kinda thinks that UND might look arogant with all the media attention, could it hurt them in some way. Any thoughts...

I just heard a lot of talk after the game in Milwaukee that he blew his chance to go to the NHL this year. That he needed one more year. do not get me wrong I like Jordan, I just think that there are some questions about him.

Do you people really think that we will be signed even after Jordan's performance against BC, I thought for sure he would need one more year to prove that he can do better than he did. I realize he is a great goalie, but I think he needs to show that he can play in a big game.

It shows your bias towards UND and that you can't be objective regarding an issue that involves UND.

OK I need to ask a question. I am taking a writing and research class and have decided to write a Persuasive agruement paper on why UND and other schools should be allowed to keep their nicknames. Does anyone have a suggestion on where I can get some research on this topic? I need to cite my sources and have to use fact.
I need help people, so please i would appreciate any help y'all can give me.

Actually, I do like some rap. Not any of the "gangsta" stuff, but I did really like some of MC Hammer's stuff when he was big. And who can forget Rapture by Blondie?
OK I will re-phrase there has not been any good rap since around 1995. I did like some old school stuff, but this in the last 10 years has been crap. Long Live Motley Crue!!!HAHA

Is singer Chris Brown - who won the Best New Artist and Viewer's Choice awards at the 2006 BET Awards last night - wearing a Fighting Sioux cap? Sure looks like it to me. Quick! Someone call Myles Brand!
That is truly one of the funniest things I have ever seen. Do not look now but every rapper on the planet will be wearing them tomorrow.
Just a note...I realize this is in the wrong forum but I came across something this morning....Did everyone know that Ron His Horse Is His Thunder's real name is Ron McNeil. He might have a little Irish in him. Maybe he should start worrying about the FIghting Irish instead.

Correct me if I am wrong but I thought I heard that VandeVelde was not coming untill the 2007-08 season? I might be thinking of someone else if not he should be able to fill some of the void.
