  1. Ness was born in May, 1990 and Lofquist was born in March, 1990, so they'll be far from the youngest freshmen in the WCHA. They just started school a year later than most kids their age.
  2. I'm not so sure they'll be looking for a "top" guy since they have Eidsness lined up. I'd expect someone along the lines of a Grieco, though hopefully more willing to accept a back-up role than Grieco.
  3. Bruneteau got into a fight last night and got knocked out pretty badly. Hopefully he's ok.
  4. You have to be a senior to win that, too. He'll probably win it next year.
  5. I'd be interested to see what his points per game average was in the Elite League. He missed a lot of games due to the football, and the ones he did play were usually less than 24 hours after playing a football game. So I think he did pretty well all things considered.
  6. Well, my vote is cast for Charlie Weis. I hope Liberty Mutual chooses to share my story.
  7. Yes. He's playing the Manitoba Jr. League and his stats aren't anything to write home about: 3.61 GAA and .886 save percentage.
  8. His NCAA eligibility is gone now that he's signed with a WHL team.
  9. Maybe, but with the Sioux already having a pretty highly-regarded goalie coming in, I'd imagine it will probably be a lower-profile kid.
  10. Technically it's an unofficial visit since you have to be a senior to go on an official visit.
  11. It looked like Danny Mattson banged up his right shoulder today at the NIT. It wasn't dangling too low, but I didn't see him move it much, and he went right from the bench to the lockerroom(though it was fairly late in the game when it happened). Hopefully he's ok.
  12. Yes. There is another Ludwig that plays for Western Michigan too.
  13. Give me about 15 minutes and I'll post the whole list. It's up, though not very pretty: http://westerncollegehockey.blogspot.com/2...uting-list.html
  14. His brother Dusty topped out at 6-3 210 lbs, though he never did much in college. He's kind of out of place in the NAHL. That's a league where there isn't a ton of skill, but most everyone is older and pretty strong. Collins is the opposite. He's skilled, but not very strong yet. It's pretty rare for a kid that young to be playing forward in that league. I think he'll be a player to watch in the future, but I wouldn't expect much from him this year.
  15. Quite a few D1 schools gave Davidson a pretty serious look and were very interested in him. I don't think he ever got a firm offer from anybody, but it sounded like a situation where a lot of teams thought he was a good player, but not quite the right fit for their program.
  16. North beat Norway in the first game. I left after two periods of Southwest/Great Plains, but Southwest had a lead. Mattson was involved in a couple scoring plays four Southwest. Gleason played pretty well too.
  17. I'm pretty sure it's Fienhage.
  18. I'd respectfully disagree with both. I think Marvin will be there at least 3 years. Next year should be a big adjustment for him, and I think it will take him a while before he puts things all together. As for Mr. Hockey, next year isn't an overly strong year, especially once we see who will be in the USHL all year. I'd say he has an outside shot at it, but I'd be surprised if he's even a finalist. NHL scouts pick the award, and they take pro potential into account, which really helped Marvin, but will hurt Ravndalen.
  19. This kid committed to North Dakota: http://westerncollegehockey.blogspot.com/2...-manitoban.html
  20. Pretty sure that is his son.
  21. He's a good player, but there's no way he's that big.
  22. Greg Lamoureux and Nick Mattson would be 2010 guys at this point.
  23. It's true. Gregoire will be playing for UND in 2008.
  24. "looked at" and "offered a scholarship are two vastly, vastly different things. Teams watch thousands of kids every year, but very few ever get offered a roster spot.
  25. I was just saying, and perhaps I worded it poorly, that he's heard enough good things about UND's program while at Shattuck that he's at least considered the possibility of playing for UND.
