  1. Did you try The Draft Sports Bar in Littleton? It's located on the NW side of Southwest Plaza off of Wadsworth... good food....hot waitresses...... 'nuff said
  2. Anyone else see a pattern emerging?..... Another Sioux/Rodent game in road jerseys.....another ESPN #1 Play of The Night! GO SIOUX! RODENTS SUCK!
  3. I just saw a preview of the top ten plays of the day on ESPN2.....and Trupp's goal was on the preview!! Woo Hoo!! Not sure when Sportcenter will be on regular ESPN..... but it should be one of the top ten.... GO SIOUX....SWEEP THE RODENTIA.....
  4. That's all and good, but.... If we get a #1 seed, and CC slips to a #2 seed.... we still play them on their home ice..... and although I feel we will be the better team, I can't help but have flashbacks to '98(?) against Michigan.... Now if we are a #1 and CC is as well, we will go elsewhere and only have to meet them on neutral ice at "The Can" in the frozen Four. Let's knock off some others first if possible.... But you know that the NC$$ will do their best to make sure not too many WCHA teams are in the show..
  5. WOW!! Thanks Bob and PSB for taking this and following through. This is yet another example of how close knit the Fighting Sioux Community is, and it really makes me proud to be a part of it. No other university compares, and that is one reason why we are envied by the rest. Most of our lives have been affected by cancer in one way or another, and we all know how important it is to have a positive attitude and spirit when dealing with it. And the support of friends and family, near and far, is paramount in beating this terrible disease. I'm sure that Nick's spirits, as well as his family's, will be lifted by this. I am sure that the University will be able to get some autographed items for Nick, but maybe we could put the donations towards a weekend in GF for a series if he is feeling up to it...(maybe drop the first puck at a game?!)... And if his dish will be installed tomorrow, if anyone can get in touch with Pat Sweeney, maybe he could give him a shout during the broadcast as well.... Little things like this could make a big difference in Nick's life.... and the Fighting Sioux Family gains a few more family members as well.... Again, Awesome job guys!! Nick, Fight the Good Fight! Go Sioux!
  6. Yeah, tonight could get pretty rough..... Kinda like this from last week in Russia: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mlf4C0qNm0w Or this one from the UK: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=62mKw44jWpE...eatured=related (Hope these links work) Go Sioux!!
  7. Red River wins 5 to 4 with two late powerplay goals.... wasn't there but heard the penalties were questionable.....
  8. I must have had "Cheers" on TV Land or something and heard Sam Malone when channel surfing... ..... Regardless, I am sure another Budweiser will improve my hearing.....
  9. Did Malone get hurt again tonight? I didn't hear his name after the first period.....
  10. Are we wearing the Blacks tonight? If so, on the road that would be undefeated on Saturdays wearing black ....and winless in greens on friday.... not sure what we were wearing at the fog bowl at BC.....Being that was a Friday... and if we were in Green...we're probably fortunate it was called after 2 periods.
  11. Grafton 4 RR 3 End of 2 That was last I heard
  12. -You are right on that that giving up another 3rd period lead is unacceptable.... - Hak said his usual "It is what it is". ... whatever the hell that is supposed to mean... - If chatter is getting into their heads, then they are in the wrong league..... and a dive or two did not decide the outcome of this game. - Why give Phil an excuse because of limited work? I have heard that since PeeWee Hockey... B.S. - If you are playing for THE premier University in Division 1 hockey, that can NEVER be an excuse....... End of story...
  13. Yeah, I forgot to hit the smiley in my haste to make a new beverage, and ironically, take a p*ss myself .... on another note... can anyone confirm what color jerseys we have worn in all of our road losses...I mean all of our Friday road losses...guess that would be all of our road losses.
  14. Hak said in the pregame with Henessey that Oshie loses the "A" for the remainder of the season...... That's a pisser....
  15. I forgot to ask when I wrote the above post...... Besides everything I wrote above.....Did we wear the greens or blacks in the fog bowl at Boston College? Depending on the answer, I bet we could figure out what that outcome would have been.... --- And I was also thinking the same as mike jm about Brian Lee ....just couldn't get myself to type it (would have had to call myself a hypocrite)... Okay...time for another Budweiser....
  16. Maybe I'm overthinking this.....(and correct me if I'm wrong).... but, didn't we lose Friday in our Greens at Tech, Wisconsin, and Denver on the road... and then come back and win Saturday in our Blacks? Not sure what we wore at Northeastern on Saturday..... so it's obvious.......WEAR THE BLACKS EVERY GAME ON THE ROAD!!!!! Oh..... and shore up the defense and goaltending...and get more firepower.... THEN we can all meet in Denver in April!
  17. This is really getting old.... Every week we watch the opposing goaltender(and goalposts) stand on his head and keep his team in it. And lately we haven't been seeing JPL doing the same. He should have easily saved the first two goals. Just because he didn't get any work in the second period is no excuse... And these third period defensive breakdowns are just killing us!! .... Shaky defense and suspect goaltending = No trip to Denver. They better get it together soon.... like tomorrow....
  18. I just heard that BC is not only going to be without Bradford (broken wrist), but they will also be missing Motherwell and O'Hanley due to a violation of team rules (says they are out indefinitely).... This could hurt them with the firepower we have......GO SIOUX!
  19. Your best bet is to stay downtown. Lots of places for the whole family to go. The 16th Street Mall is cool. However, if you do get a break from the family, may I suggest a couple of spots.... Diamond Cabaret 1222 Glenarm Place (6.6 miles from Magness Arena) *Great Food and "live entertainment".... sure your wife would like the food...but probably not so much on the entertainment. This is located next to the Convention Center and new Hyatt. There is also a Holiday Inn a block away, so that would be a convenient spot for you! Shotgun Willie's 490 S. Colorado Blvd (3.3 miles from Magness Arena) *Decent food and "live entertainment".... not sure your wife would like either here .... but they have a really cool interactive website you can check out. Just make sure you have the sound turned up. They even give you money to tip the bartender and ....ummm......entertainers. Just move your mouse (not rat) around the screen.....cool site! www.shotgun-willies.com I think there will be alot of Sioux fans frequenting these places in early April..... GO SIOUX!!! *Disclaimer: Of course this is all speculation on my part, as I would have no personal experience at these fine upstanding establishments*
  20. The only thing missing was the the H-O -L-Y-C-R-O-S-S......HOLYCROSS.....HOLYCROSS.......YEAH.....CRUSADERS!!!!!... Chant.... I really thought I would have heard that to counter the Rodentia chants. And I also expected to hear the"HOLY CROSS... CLAP*CLAP*CLAP*CLAP*CLAP....chant...... But even without those chants, it was a phenomenal weekend of hockey!..... Just wish I would have seen some HC jerseys to rub it in even more! Guess I should order my own.... Go Sioux.... Oh... and ...The rodentia...suck....
  21. Da Da Da.....Da Da Da..........Gophers Suck!!

    Chorney

Okay, this has been going on long enough..... I don't post very often as you all can see, but after seeing this thread on here for most of this week I checked with the only sources that really matter....I won't put the actual quotes on this board, but, please believe me when I say that Taylor Chorney is going nowhere! I was almost laughed at for even bringing it up. Let's all move on to something else and have this thread go away... have a few Budweisers, a few Long Islands, and remember what Memorial Day weekend is all about. God Bless America...... and The Fighting Sioux!
  23. Good post Redwing! I have been thinking the same thing for a while now. The football and basketball teams could go without a nickname and go with generic uniforms in order to get playoff games at home.....OR they could be The University of North Dakota "Fighting Mad"......OR they could also keep the Fighting Sioux name, and use the NC$$ ruling as added incentive to kick some a$$ on the road in the playoffs. Yes, alot of revenue would be sacrificed, but team and school pride would never be higher. And as you noted above, the hockey team would not be directly affected (other than new playoff jerseys) since they would always be on the road anyway. Hopefully we will clean up in court and never have to worry about changing the name of any of our teams....
  24. It will be priceless seeing all the Holy Cross jerseys in the crowds at Gopher games next year. I honestly don't think they will ever be able to live this down. From now, no matter who or where they are playing, the rodents and their fans will hear cheers like this: H-O-L-Y-C-R-O-S-S.....holy cross, holy cross.........yay...CRUSADERS!!!!! AND HOLY CROSS *clap, clap, clap clap clap* It's cool that Holy Cross has the same number of letters as Minnesota, so this new rouser will sound great! And to see it done by Sioux fans...standing and mimicking the rodentia, will be over the top. This will probably start at the Frozen Four just to rub it in, and by next season fans of every team will be doing this to the gophers for years to come. Man...they are gonna hate us more than they already do..... Thank You Holy Cross!
  25. Please don't discount this because I don't post on this board....BUT...I do have info.....Drew Stafford suffered an MCL injury and will NOT play at the WCHA Five if (when) the Sioux get there. The earliest he will come back is the Western Regional at The Ralph....Wish he would come back earlier, but my source is solid. It's too bad, but the truth. If the Sioux just play their game they will be fine......On another note..LB11...have fun in florida and The Stones concert......and SuperTrex...are you still the star of music and rock? (sorry guys (and girls)....inside joke) GO SIOUX!!!!!
