  1. UND is still a better program. The vermin bought their way to the national titles
  2. Just beacause your favorite team (The gophers) didn't make it into the frozen four doesn't mean you have to bug the real Champions (The Fighting Sioux) fans. I mean why dont you get over your self.
  3. Your team lost.... deal with it and GET OVER IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
  4. I know what you mean Gene my senses are very keen so as I can't be seen when i am using kerosene
  5. With a comment like that, you are in the upper deck
  6. No I don't. I registered thinking this would be a nice place to talk college hockey specifically UND. What I found out was truly amazing. I was blown away by the true homerism on the hockey board(that and the sioux name board are the only one's I read). I really really enjoy college hockey but these group of idiots are mind-boggiling. Their perception of reality is so far off base you can not make it up. They constantly nit-pick each other over the tiniest little details, they consistantly have snide comments about every other team than UND, somehow someway there is a grand conspiracy against UND, UND never actually loses a game it is because of the officiating, can not (and I mean can not) give credit to another player or team besides UND--read the WCHA ROY thread (basically Oshie was robbed/Oshie really won ROY/ Kessell will not amount to anything etc etc etc) I found out about this site during the goher/sioux series in Dec 05. When I started to read the posts from that series I literally was stunned. Every call against UND was poor(according to TH and all the posters), Irmens' jersey tug was bush league but it was OK for Chorney to essentially the same. How about this: some punk a$$ fan had a sign @ the Gopher series regarding Robbie Bina's injury and of course all Gopher fans are classless however it was ok that the UND fans made a similar sign about Tyler Hirsch and his problems when they met in Columbus last year Like I stated before, "I have never seen such childish antics" I can understand the passion and pride for UND hockey but I do not and will not understand the childish antics and comments BTW, I expect more childish behavior and antics as people read this
  7. How can anyone NOT think UND will be in the NCAA's. They are pretty much assured an at-large bid if they lose both games this weekend. About they only way UND does not get in is if all underdog teams win their respective conference championships They will be in but what they do with it is another issue
  8. I did not start this thread so you 2 idiots could argue back and forth on proper grammar. I have never in my life seen such childish antics.
  9. I think the mafia working in conjunction with the NCAA and US Federal Governmnet is the answer to your qustion.
  10. Very valid point PCM, I would think the selection committee would certainly look at how teams are playing down the stretch to add "bonuses" to get UND into the playoff picture plus they want financial success. So the committe knows that if they put UND in the attendance will increase as well as revenue. So I think UND gets in but how do they perform is another question
  11. I thought the same thing. I just read it on USCHO and posted a link earlier in the thread. Maybe the individual who wrote the article does not know up from down. If that is the case then he can go take a Denver and wipe his Wisconsin
  12. http://www.uscho.com/news/id,12055/ThePair...dFeb222006.html Take a look for yourself. Not a troll or a skippy, just calls'em as I see's em
  13. The USCHO website has some updated info on UND chances. It does not sound very good. Basically UND is sunk. If they sweep DU & MTU they could move up in the WCHA to 4th, then play a non-TUC team in the WCHA playoffs which in turn would lower their Pairwise. The only option is win the remainder of their games and then win the Final Five
  14. I am with you Mory00, nothing irritates me worse than homers. The view of their favorite sports team is so skewed and becomes delusional they can not see outside the box.
  15. You want to hear about "abusive & hostile" well get this. Last year myself and another individual attended the UND/SCSU game @ SCSU. Of course the protestors were out in force ranting, raving, and waving signs calling UND fans racist with a multitude of said signs had a swastika on them. This individual I attended the game with is Jewish and it really pi$$ed him off. Matter of fact he is still fuming about this. If people want to protest about the UND nickname being "abusive & hostile" they have the right to do so but waving a sign with a swastika on it in front of someone of the Jewish faith is the most "abusive & hostile" action I can ever think of---if you read this stop and think about it for a little while. Think of what the swastika stands for and all the innocent fathers, mothers, brothers, sisters, and babies who were slaughtered. That my friends is "abusive & hostile" These protestors were very quick to label UND fans as racist but had no problem waving a sign with a swastika on it--does anyone else see the stupidity/ignorance of the protestors?

These frosh may be better than other teams frosh but this is still a team game. And the team is 13-11 in the WCHA. We get beat to the top teams in the conference and beat the lower teams in the conference. As far as damage in the playoffs it is a possibility but I just don't see it this year. I may be proved incorrect

Here is my side: UND has arguably the one of the top 5 programs in ALL of College Hockey and as such we have set the bar high. See 7 national titles, 13 WCHA conference championships, and fielding a national title contender year in and year out. With that being said, IMO we don't have it this year. UW and UofM look head and shoulders above us. See the aforementioned post, the UofM dominated us and so did UW. And losing to AA and 3 out of 4 to St. Cloud makes my point even more valid. When was the last time we lost 3 out of 5 to St. Cloud or to AA----PCM get to work On a side note, yes I think UW and UofM are bound for a clash for a national championship. I think they are the two best teams I have seen this year.

I hear what you are saying and believe me I am the captain of the positivity police but when we played the Gophers this year I thought it was clearly evident that they were the better team. Yes they were close but they were head and shoulders above us--IMO. I did not see the Wisconsin series so I will rely on word of mouthl, and said word of mouth is a very very knowledageble WCHA fan. Said individual stated this years Wisconsin team is the best he has ever seen in his many many year of watching WCHA. Wisconsin did not have as much "talent" as we did this year according to the experts. Split with DU @ home and it may be a different series next weekend in the Rockies. Basically let's not get too hyped on this years squad. I don't see it in them to make a run like they did last year. Now next year is a different story. Essentially have all key components back and we will see if this "talent" has seasoned next year.

Let's be honest here folks this team is going no-where this year. And don't give me the crap about last years team--it was a fluke.. All this "talent" and we are only 1 game above .500 in the WCHA. Think about that for a minute. We play 4 games against our biggest rival UofM and get destroyed. Yes we won 1 of the 4 but it was clear who was the better team. UW we get destroyed again @ home. We are 2-6 against the upper echelon teams in the WCHA.
  20. You know what AZ you are probably right. I guess if you are a "superstar" and "can't miss" then you might have an insurance policy. My apologies, can we still be friends?
  21. This may be the case in college football and college basketball but I don't think so in college hockey. The NHL took a beating last year by locking out and the demand for the NHL product is not as strong as it once was. Furthermore, when I spoke with said Hale brother, that was one of his other reasons to sign early. He knew about the new CBA and a possibility of a lock-out
  22. Here is a different take on why players leave early: I was speaking with one of the Hale brothers a few years ago and he signed with an NHL team ( I forget who) b/c he recieved a $700k signing bonus. Then I asked him if he stayed his final year if he would get more and he said no. Basically, he said if he plays a year or two in a minor league system or another year @ UND he would recieve the same signing bonus and if he finished his 4 years @ UND he would still have to spend a few years in the minors. One more point is, the minors get a player "NHL" ready were as college hockey does not, even as competitive as the WCHA is. So maybe these guys just take the money and go. I mean honestly if someone gave you a couple hundred grand would you not do the same?
  23. How about this. If the MTU sweeps you change your name to "UND the real state of hockey" and if the Gophers sweep I change mine to "UofM is the greatest there has ever been and ever will be"
