  1. I don't care what anyone's political beliefs are. If you don't like any of the candidates running for the presidency of our country, you're going to have to at least support one of them eventually. If you don't support anything about any of them, then move out of the country (I know, much easier said than done, but seriously then stop complaining and do something about it.)

This is a (an?) historical event for the city of Grand Forks and North Dakota, so please please please don't make us all look like idiots/morons if you're going, because most of the country already thinks that.

Move out of the country because I dont support a candidate?? Thats a very naive position to take as if we should blindly support any of these candidates. I cant do anything about it when I cant help that my favorite dropped out in January due to lack of media attention these other three have garnered and I'm certainly not moved to support the remaining three.

As an American in a foreign country (a country that happens to be our closest neighbor), all I can say is I sure as hell hope whoever gets in turns around our image to the rest of the world because I shouldnt have to put up with the BS I have been encountering simply because I'm an American and because of the current sitting President's politics.

  2. Watching the game on RDS in Canada, Brian Lee just made a helluva save by pushing the puck out with his skate. He was behind Ottawa's goalie when the rebound bounced and trickled around the goalie and almost went in. Great play by Lee!

  3. I was hoping to make the Toronto show but its in the middle of the week on a Wednesday...lame! Maybe I'll work it out, but I'm also doing Relay for Life the Friday after so I'll have to decide.

I'll miss Alpine though, god I love that place :)

  4. I'll be sure to let her know of your opinions tonight and she won't give a crap what you guys think. She likes the sioux she just is a die hard tech fan.

I've only seen pictures of her but I think she's cute. She looks like she would be a quirky and fun person :D

  5. What are you doing in North Bay? Are you USAF and on a NORAD tour? I spent four years of my AF career there. I hope you like fishing and hunting.

None of the above. I married a CanadiEn from Sudbury and we live here now. He has lived in North Bay for almost 2 years now after he got his first job out of school. And I love fishing. I'm not working right now but once I am I dont think we'll be staying here as there isnt much in my field. Nice town though and just far enough from the in-laws

  6. My dad just called me from the Ralph, saying he was in a suite with a work buddy. He called so I could hear the band (I was in the band for 4 years) and to hear the announcer say "Here Come Your Fighting SIOOOOOOOUX!!

Now I'm teary eyed wishing I was there...but my dad is awesome.

So I'll be checking in tonight, for the first time in awhile all the way from North Bay Ontario!

  7. I don't know what the big deal is....every woman goes through it and everyone knows it, so it's not like he was poking fun at a select group of people with a disability. It was a lighthearted joke.

Because its a weapon of words used by men against women to "explain women's behavior" and its hurtful, disrespectful and immature.

  8. Keeping tabs on the Sioux all the way from the North...great game tonight Sioux, just wish you could get some consistency. Still some hope for the season if you guys start playing like this from here on out.

Oh and Sioux Hab-It, my husband is super jealous of your WJC tix, he wants to go so badly...we're tossing around the idea of going to a few games but he also promised me a trip to Montreal to the Bell for a Habs game so we'll have to compromise! I did get to see my first live Montreal game in Tampa Bay last week, what a great time and great win!

  9. People who do special ed work should be nominated for sainthood.

Its true...I'm in the mental health field too (but I like the criminals) but I couldnt touch that population with a ten foot pole...thats a whole different skill set that I just dont possess but absolutely respect and admire those that do. Bless you, sir.

  10. If anything a jersey is a gimmick!

A unified crowd is much more intense and intimidating. Don't get me wrong, I have 16 jerseys, but if I only had one and needed to wear a different color, I wouldn't hesitate for a second to wear the right color.

I don't get how wearing a jersey shows more commitment than wearing a certain color to make a unique crowd setting.

I dont get how unreasonable you are being about expecting every single person to wear the exact same color to a game. I think the Green Out idea is great but for cryin out loud, dont expect all 11000 fans to be wearing "kelly green." I dont have any green in my wardrobe, does that make me less of a fan if I show up in my white Sioux jersey (gasp! On a GREEN night too) I wore as a band member? Gimme a break. You can give me a free t-shirt at a game but it doesnt mean I'm gonna run to the bathroom to change just so I can be a "better" fan. :glare:

Most of my Sioux gear is black...guess I'll stay home on the Green and White weekends...
