Can't wait to buy some Holy Cross apparel and wear it to the next Gopher game or when I'm in the Twin Cities

Thanks for the great work on the highlight clips. I was visualizing the game as I was listening to the highlights and got excited all over again. I, too, want to congratulate Holy Cross on a great game and a great season. Wow, what a game! I loved watching the Holy Cross players leave the ice after the overtime. It was great to see such enthusiasm and excitement in their faces. You could tell it meant a lot to them. So, I told her that if HC scored the next goal, I wouldn't care what happened in the Sioux-Michigan game. She said, my friends and I are thinking the same thing. Any word on where the UND section will be in Milwaukee? Or when do they determine that? Last year I got to sit with the Denver faithful!!! Ahhhhh! Thanks

I'm attached to the Sioux name too but let's not make this a liberal/conservative issue, because it isn't. 95% of ND believes the name is ok, 63% voted for Bush in 2004, where is the other 32% support of the name coming from? Actually, it could be construed that the conservatives caused the problem if you consider the following: Most people blame the NCAA for this ruling: so NC$$ = big business Republicans (Conservatives) = big business thus: NC$$ = Conservatives There, its all the right wings fault

So, shouldn't caucasians be upset with the treatment of George Washington and Abe Lincoln. I mean everyday I fold a picture of George or Abe in half, stuff it in my wallet and sit on him all day.

After I calmed down enough to type, it occured to me that the Fighting Sioux's next opponent in a major sport is SCSU this Saturday. I find it ironic that the next opponent is the one with the most vocal anti-Sioux contigent. Anyway, long live the (UND) Sioux. I don't know if this was answered before but does the Sioux nation want to be referred to Lakota/Nakota/Dakota? If so, why don't they change their name? Then UND wouldn't be hostile and abusive cause there would be no 'Sioux' tribes. I believe there were 3 or 4 tribes in Manitoba that changed their names. Sorry for the last rant, I feel a little better.

I agree. The NCAA has enough info to reject it. As reported earlier, they recently contacted the tribes for more info. I'm guessing they would want Spirit Lake to say ok to the name, then the NCAA can say UND has approval from a namesake tribe and thus, no court case.

Does this mean that Taken Alive and Jeanotte oppose the nickname and Franklin Sage?

GK: If you answered this before I apologize, just wanted clarification from letter C above. If UND changed their name from Fighting Sioux to "Warriors" and kept the current logo, would the Sioux Nation be ok with that because "Fighting Sioux" would no longer be part of the equation? Is it the logo by itself that you want changed or is it the link between "Fighting Sioux" to the logo?

As PCM said, that is a great story. Actually it made my day to hear it. That's the way I feel about UND and the Fighting Sioux. I grew up near Grand Forks but now live in Minnesota so I don't make it to as many games as I would like. But I love hearing people talk about UND and your story was especially fun to hear. Thanks for the great words.

Let's change our name to the Seminoles (they may give us permission!!). That way we keep the logo, REA changes a couple of words and we're set.

What's your take on the hockey tournament part of the appeal. I hope not too much emphasis was placed on the March 2006 Tournament. I could see the NCAA say "ok, we had a contract with you, we will honor that" but your appeal to keep the name past that time is denied.
