Great - we are pleased that Torrey will be continuing his athletic and academic careers at UND. It looks like he is quite versatile. What position was he recruited to play? How did the connection with UND come about?

You are correct. It was a very nice win - the kids played well down the stretch. I am proud of them and hope it gives them the confidence to continue to play well in close games. They are young and winning a tough game like this should only help with their maturity and continued improvement.

This is not another "Fire Jones" type comment. I am simply curious if anyone with better BB knowledge than I can explain our strategy at the end of the first half. We called TO after an EWU turnover with 49 seconds left in the half. It was obvious that our strategy was to hold on to the ball as long as we could (as if we had enough time for us to take the last shot of the half). With 4 seconds left on the shot clock, Hooker was forced to try to create a shot and was called for a foul. Fortunately, EWU did not score before the end of the half. Why would we have stalled (and ended up making a bad play due to the shot clock expiring)? Wouldn't the normal strategy been to simply go ahead and work for a good shot (my preference) or try to get up a quick shot (either made or missed) so there was 35 or 40 seconds left on the clock. EWU would have not be able to play for the last shot. We would have gotten the ball back for the last shot. In the NBA world, it is simply making sure you have two possessions to your opponent's one. What am I missing?

I think the refs saw that the Idaho player was out of bounds before he jumped up and touched the ball as we hit it out of bounds.

Players I list on Wiki are those listed on various recruiting websites which indicate specific colleges' interest in a prospect. Also included are players invited to various UND camps/games plus area players who may have the talent to play at the DI level. UND may be very interested in some of these players and have little interest in others. Conversely, a player may have a great interest in UND or they may have no interest at all. Of course, once a scholarship offer is made, that confirms UND is very serious interest in a prospect.

Wiki has been updated with some of the 2017 prospects in which we have some level of interest. We are looking at another RB Santiago. This one (from Milwaukee) is also 5'10" but weighs 235!!

I just checked the UNLV FB message board and they still have him as a solid verbal as of last Saturday. I have no idea why ‌247 Sports added our offer this afternoon. Interestingly, in going back to the 247 site now, Smith is no longer listed as a UND prospect. I will remove him from Wiki. As most of you know, Kurt Palandech is a backup QB at UNLV. There were various comments that he has problems throwing downfield so he likely won't be in the mix for the starting job next year.

I am quite sure we offered Pink last summer but I think it was withdrawn some time ago. I couldn't confirm this and a couple of recruiting services still listed him with an offer so I didn't remove it from Wiki.

Three signees were announced today: Ashley Brueggeman from Eden Prairie, Roseau's Amelia Johnson and Stephanie Ziegler from Hazen. Chloe Dousette, a 6'2” OH from Cretin-Derham Hall had supposedly committed. Anyone know what happened with her?

Another: PF Gabe McGlothan, 6'6", Chandler (Basha), AZ The Big Sky wants this kid - he has offers from UNC, PSU, MSU & EWU.

This is a challenging/interesting issue. My opinion - the young man or lady needs to "earn" a 5th year on scholarship. Hence, it should be a case-by-case decision.
