It was Brady Nicholson of Chaska

    6'9 240.

Interesting story - he had weighed more than 300 pounds but lost 80 before his senior year.   He averaged 24/game this last year on a very average team!

The Bison had offered him late last summer.

So a total $35M price tag. But the Memorial Village portion ...

So the $35M when it was the all-encompassing project, minus this portion of it, or $25M, and that's why with $12M they're projecting starting Phase II this summer.

While they would love to raise $29-30M to add some very nice features to the building, the $ they really need is about $26M.

Sometimes groups do “pledges” to help jump start fundraising. Just saying it may help stir the pot.

UND has pledges from many different people/businesses.

I wouldn't talk about players in the portal as if they are already gone.  Some end up returning to their school.  I don't know what the percentage is, but it happens.  I mean, right now there are over 1,000 women in the transfer portal.  That's something like 20% to 25% of all available D-1 Scholarships!

Unless it is a unique situation (a family issue, for example), very few players who enter the portal are welcome back at their original school. Coaches aren't pleased that the player leaves after the staff has spent a lot of time recruiting and developing them.  As important and just as big of a factor, teammates feel these kids have abandoned the team and would not welcome them back.
There was a lot of talk that Bruns might change his mind after the coaching change at USD. That wasn't going to happen due to the reasons mentioned above!

So they are literally choosing to not fundraise for this?  They have zero interest in the general public buying in to the program?  I sure hope the money is locked up if that's the case.  But even if it is, why not raise money to make it better?

Where in hell did you get that from my post?  They are out there every day trying to raise $ for Phase II.  They want to raise all the money possible to make it a first class venue.

I was referring to the response to my post (see above) of August, 2021.  I was suggesting Let's Help Bubba type of fundraising from members of ss.com for Phase II.  I received very little feedback.

Please don't write crap like you did when you don't know what is happening!!  You never know when a potential recruit or their parent are looking at this type of website.

I believe she would be for year after next. Are we done for next year?

See the title for this thread - ('22-'23 Recruiting).
I answered your question about this year's recruiting because you asked it here. It really should have been under the '21-'22 thread.

Have all our future recruits signed letters of commitment?

Four signed last November.  I would think there may be another one or two this spring. The start of the spring signing period is April 13.

How do these offers to 7th or 8th or even 9th graders work?  I assume it's basically a school's way of saying "we wanted you first" but in reality the school could back out of it by the time the kid is a junior or senior if they wanted to?

The school can withdraw an offer at any time.
