Ever notice how much more active this board is during regular business hours - hum - I wonder why.
It's because us people who are from North Dakota don't have computers and/or electricity at home.

This post was in direct response to the mother that is complaining about her son not getting a ticket. I want everyone on here to be fully informed of the situation before they begin making assumptions on what has happened. And no, I am not a newbie, I just posted anonymously about this subject to avoid conflict. I think it is important that the sioux fans know the whole story before they begin showing sympathy or anger towards others. Best of luck to the team this weekend, cya at the Bradley Center.

I was not complaining or looking for sympathy. I was only telling the saga of one Sioux Crew member's events in trying to aquire a ticket for the best seats in the house for a Sioux fan. It was UND/Sioux Crew who called him and told him to come and pick up a ticket meant for the Sioux Crew that had been put up for sale on Ebay. He works full time, he could not go spend hours in line waiting. He worked until 2AM and went to check at 5AM and was number 53. That was fine with him. He was just elated when he got that call, and equally disappointed when it did not pan out.
In my opinion, it was not a very smart move to put a ticket up for sale on Ebay without the intention of selling it.. just to see how much it "might" sell for. Isn't that against Ebay policy?
Anyway. Go enjoy the game. Sioux Hockey Fanatic is working on it.. even if they have to "storm the doors or pretend they are band members"! (SHF.. he plays the cello, do you think they could use a cello in the pep band?)

I have a funny story about things that happen on Ebay.
One of my son's hockey coaches saw an old Zamboni for sale on Ebay. Just for the heck of it, he bid on it, thinking someone would surely outbid him. Well, he won the bid and had to round up a truck and trailer to go get the darn thing.. and it was quite a distance away. He did end up getting it sold again and I think he got his money out of it, but he was kinda nervous about it for awhile. And of course his wife had a lot to hold over his head for some time.

I have no idea how they could track this, but I don't want to lose my priority.. or anything else for that matter.

Re: your son going to MKE without a ticket, I've heard several people who have been to FF's in the past say it is often easy to get a ticket outside the stadium for face value or even below day of game. Even in WI, the UND/BC game at 2pm hopefully he'd be able to get to get into.

Hey, thanks for the link! I like Sioux fans like you. We were in Columbus last year and people were at the door almost giving tickets away. But last year was a little bit different because it was not so close to any team that was participating in it. Wisconsin has a big hockey fan base. Ohio did not, apparantly, as the building was hardly full.

To everyone that is scrambling to get tickets: I wish you good luck, but don't whine on this board. I've had my tickets since June 2005, in anticipation of UND making it.......if they had not made it, then yes, I would be stuck with some unwanted tickets - that's the chance I took........You can't have reward without risk.......so quit whining about it on this board, get your butt off your tractor, find someone with tickets and pay up........
Thank you.. I have had my tickets for some time too (we applied April 1, 2005). I am just trying to get another for a college kid that didn't know where he would be at or how much money he would have at this time of year.

So, the ticket drama continues. The tickets that my son was supposed to get was one of those that was put on Ebay and the Sioux Crew people told the Ebayer to bring it back so they could get it to another Sioux Crew person that was actually going to be going to Milwaukee.
So he went to pick it up at 8:30 AM and the guy refused to bring it back in, so the Sioux Crew is being nice enough to try to find my son another ticket. Silly people.. its just so frustrating!
He says he is going to make the trip to Milwaukee anyway and have fun even if he doesn't get a ticket. Maybe I will just give him mine.

I do have a question. We are coming on Amtrak and staying at the Ramada Inn downtown. On the map it looks like it is just a few blocks walk to the hotel, but it crosses 794. Is there a way to walk across? It is hard to tell on a map.

The site being down may have had something to do with him leaving...
A TON of people visited the site yesterday afternoon wanting info on Potulny. All of a sudden the site was suspended my my provider. The message on the site is directed towards me... Saying that they sent an email to me on how to proceed. Well, I never got an email. So at 5pm yesterday afternoon I called my provider to see what was going on.
The guys there told me that since the account was suspended, the only way to fix it was to email abuse@ipower.com and wait for a response. I could not talk to anybody there about it.... That's sounds a little stragne doesn't it? So I get home and send the email to that account asking what is up. I get an auto response saying that they recieved it and will reply within 24 hours... Tick.. Tock.. Tick.. Tock..
They have not responded yet...
I have looked around on the internet for others that have had this problem with iPower and the best I can tell is that we overtaxed their server. With so many people visiting GPL at once, it started slowing down the server that GPL is on, which affects other sites on the server... So they shut it down... Until I get an email response from them, this is my best guess as to what happened.
Seriously, with all the people looking to see what was up with RP, you probably used up all of your allocated bandwidth. I know, I am a geek.

I think it would be fun to just be in Milwaukee, even if you had to watch it at a sports bar somewhere.. or tailgating in the parking lot! We were in Columbus last year and the games were great fun, but it was just as much fun just hanging around the city and having complete strangers look at your Sioux jersey and yell GO SIOUX.
We got tickets in the lottery for ourselves. Now we are looking for tickets for our about to become Alumni son who was number 53 in the Sioux Crew line this morning.

I've decided that I am not going to be one of the annointed ones that will get tickets from the Alum fund. I'm going to sell my soul to StubHub and get the five tickets I need from there. We're gonna drive to Mpls and fly from there to Milwaukee. Haven't got a room yet. But, what the heck, there have to be park benches in a city as big as Milwaukee.
This is the year and I ain't gonna miss it!!!
Maybe they can haul up some of those fema trailers that the Denver blogger was talking about Sioux fans living in.

I had an "Indian Taco" for lunch today at a local restaurant.
Am I going to be OK? Maybe our friend should go there and protest. -
There was a group of about 6 30-35 year old Goofer fans sitting a row behind and to the left of me. When they lost, they sat there speechless with their arms folded over their big "M" jerseys for a good 20 minutes. I think a couple of them were even crying. I didn't see them after that.
There was a group of Gophers we met after the game that were being pretty good sports. We (and others) bought them some "green" shots to ease their pain.

The only thing I thought about Earl was that he was the only one cramping and crawling and was putting on quite a show. Is he that much under-conditioned compared to the other 37 guys on the ice??? And the television people making it a story. To me, it's like covering a guy that falls over at mile 23 of a marathon...tough bounce... better train harder next time fella...

wow, what an amazing game. that one's sure to be on ESPN Classic.
and major props to the goalies and players of both sides. beautiful effort and I will applaud them until me hands fall off.

I thought the Wisconsin fan they had the camera on was going to have a heart attack. He almost collapsed after the goal. I think his wife was holding him up.
I felt so bad for Robbie "the Diver" Earl
when he had to keep going back to the box and have the team help him over the boards. And the camera just kept showing him on his knees on the floor in the box, like that made him some kind of hero. I was glad he didn't get the game winner. -
It was really a very well put together pregame video. Whoever made it should be congratulated. I have heard more comments on it. Even my husband who was not the band geek I was commented on how neat that was.

Sorry you had a problem with some of our fans. And sorry about the 8 year olds, I get tired of people not watching their kids at the games too (like running the wrong way on the escalators.. go watch the dang game!)
We have a great time going to the X, but had a bad experience when we went to Mariucci for the Regionals a few years ago. After that, I don't care if we ever go back there.
