Now, why doesn't this surprise me? The NCAA is now causing problems on the reservations.
Standing Rock Sioux table discussion on UND nickname
I have a hunch that this is why the Spirit Lake Reservation did not want to address the issue at their tribal council meetings.
Yet, you see many many native people wearing the "Fighting Sioux" logo.
In fact, I think I see more Ft. Totten folks wearing the logo than I ever have in the past. Or maybe it is just that I tend to notice it more... but I don't think so.

Thank you to the Standing Rock and the Spirit Lake Nation People for their support.

Wait so Stafford is close to signing a record deal for Red Seal Peach, keep me up to date on the possible tour. I ca't wait to see the sold out REA go crazy for them.
I gave the Red Seal Peach link to my 26 year old daughter and she told me she heard a "horrible noise" coming out of her computer. It was just Fabian.

Thank you Lee Marvin. Everytime I see that name I get that "Paint Your Wagon" song in my head. It's been fun watching that lucky #13 out there. Best wishes to you in your future.
-
It was a pleasure to watch you these 4 years! I knew from the first game I saw you in, that Mike Prpich (but it took me awhile to remember how to say that last name) was going to be someone special. Thank you for showing us that smile!

I have 5 Final Five posters that are unspoken for. PM me if you want one. I am on campus but will mail them out if need be.
"High Fives" to YaneA!

When I came back to Chicago from NoDak in early March, the damn thing was 7 hours late!! Engine trouble and a hooker in Minot....sigh...
Glad it was on time for ya...I'll take it as a good sign for me that I'll be able to have a few before the game.

Yeah, we take the train out west to Whitefish to ski every winter. That's why we planned to be on the train that came 24 hours before the drop of the puck.
-
You mean the Pony Express was on time?! Thats a first...hope my train is on time tomorrow too!
Yeah, it was actually early at most stops.
-
We got here at 2 today on Amtrak. We have been busy warming up bar stools!
We are staying at the Ramada, its a walk, but not too far.
-
here you go
But for the Frozen Four (and all NCAA events) the NCAA rules take over the arena. (Like the no beer thing.) The WCHA Final Five lets you bring in video and whatever. The Ralph is usually picky about cameras, but during the World Juniors, you could even use video. I checked before I brought it.
-
Hey thanks!
-
Back of the tickets say "videotape" cameras are prohibited.
So have at it with your still cameras. Hee hee, mine has a video feature on it.
The one place I hadn't looked yet. At least I got that "Fan Guide" thing read front to back.

I have been searching to see what type of camera is allowed into the Bradley Center. I can't find anything. Does anyone know the policy that the NCAA has for the Frozen Four?
At the West Regionals I was told I could not use the longer lens that I had, so I didn't bother taking any photos.
I imagine video camera are not allowed at all.
Anyone know for sure?

Is there still interest in trying to put in an order to the jersey company even if it will take 6 months??
Oh, I think there will be interest in rubbing this in Gopher face for years to come!
-
Holy Cross worked harder, for 60 minutes, and 53 seconds.
And I have actually heard some Gopher fans admit this.
For example.
One Gopher fan, who watched it on TV, said it looked like his team was just standing around waiting for someone to "give" them the national championship.
I can deal with that type of fan.
-
Just remember...the Bradley Center off-duty cops don't exactly toss beads for you lifting up your shirt when you're on the jumbo-tron.
And just how do you know this?
-
Has anyone heard that the Sioux logo may not be allowed in the arena or lower bowl? Crazy I know, but it's also crazy what the NCAA is allowed to ban and not ban!!
Where in the world do people come up with these things?
-
Wow, I am away from my computer for awhile and all this fun stuff happens.
Do I understand that replica jerseys are still a possibility? My daughter is working in St. Paul as a server (for now) and I think it would be fun to have Gopher fans wanting to throw things at her. Oh wait, the tips wouldn't be very good then, would they?

You might also want to bring your umbrellas as it is supposed to be raining Thursday and Friday. Also, the temps are ranging from 36 - 57 degrees. Good North Dakota jacket weather. Or are you ready for shorts?
-
This might help.

Reply to; sale-146428183@craigslist.org
Date: 2006-03-29, 4;31PM CST
This is not a joke. This is one ticket for the Men's Frozen Four. You will be sitting in the lower sections. The price of these tickets on line are absurd, over $600 a ticket. I will not be selling this ticket at this time, so please don"t ask.
I am asking for sexual favors, and in return you will be able to go to all 3 of the hockey games and sit in the lower section for face value. You have to be female, and email me with your picture. Their is no catch involved an no other necessary committment. If you are interested please email and I am sure we can work something out.
(you do not have to be a student)
Feel free to email me with any questions.
Thanks and lets go badgers.
That's just gross. Sex with a fugly badger.

Hmm I wish I would have known this earlier. I cant go to the games Thursday because of work so I called the Engelstad and they gave me the names and numbers of a couple people that didn't get tickets and had been calling daily for them. So I was able to get ahold of them and they said they would take them. However if they change their mind I'll let you know.
Thank you. I PM'd you and left my name and number. They still don't have anything.
-
So he has 0 tickets??
Right, but his cousin Sioux Hockey Fanatic and he are bidding on some on Ebay. (But I see they don't have the bid anymore.) I think he decided he would go to Milwaukee and even if he has to watch it on TV somewhere there, it will still be a good time. And I don't think it will be too difficult to get into Session 1 if you don't mind sitting alone.
What does this mean to you?

If this was a painting by a Native American, I know there would be tons of symbolism in the picture. There would be a reason for the Native carrying the Protection Shield with the American Flag on it, some reason for the number of Eagle Feathers, reasons for the colors and items on the staff of the spear, and on the beadwork on his clothing. There is also a special meaning for the face paint and for the things he is wearing on his head.
Native Americans love to use that type of symbolism in their artwork. Is the American Soldier a Native American? If so, I would guess that the Native American is protecting and guiding the soldier.
Also, they are in a jungle. So are they in another country (Viet Nam)? Are they fighting for "our" country?
