  1. I've never reffed, but have served as a goal judge many times.  I was shocked at how difficult it can be to 100% determine if a shot when in.  With the goalie, the glass, the net, and the constant movement it's not easy.  Winger coming down the left wing, hard shot to the far corner that may or may not have caught the top corner while the goalie is sliding across, throwing out the glove/blocker, d-man screening...  Often times you can't see the puck leaving the stick to track it.

And some good athletes on that team, a few who maybe could or should be playing high school, that team competes with a few of the AA teams, but in reality will it translate to high school or is the lifeling goal nothing more than to maybe possibly crack a 4th seed at state....

Time will tell, teams like that are kind of the example, or bellweather to watch as to what could or should happen as to structure of ND high school hockey...

Some good teams and competition for sure.

You only need 4-5 solid kids per year to field a competitive team.  I’d be curious how Jamestown would do this year if they had the kid that jumped ship.  They’d have definitely won the West this year.

No way they will show Walz from the waste down at 600 tonight with the hard-on he'll have addressing the peasants of MN on his "science" driven restriction mandates.

Maybe he'll pull a Homelander from "The Boys"  at the podium while muttering "I can do whatever the f.. I want" over and over.

Soviet Union/Russia's game plan has always been to divide us from within.

Exactly.  They don't care who wins, they just want the division.  Unfortunately our media is doing a far better job than they ever could, and the populous is too stupid to realize it.

Count every vote that is in accordance with that locality's laws.

What I don't understand is PA law is written down: " ... by 8 pm election night." How can the PA Supreme Court interpret (re-write) that any other way?

It's essentially the same argument/issue as whether the Governor, health departments, Courts... have the authority to limit or shut down business/stop evictions... due to Covid.   Some courts say that it is an appropriate power, others that it isn't.

Is everyone ok with this. I don’t think it is right.

The law of PA appears to be very clear that the ballots need to be received by 8:00 on the day of the election.  Whether that is the best way to handle it is a completely separate question.

    Another Alito quote:
“It would be highly desirable to issue a ruling on the constitutionality of the State Supreme Court’s decision before the election,” he wrote. “That question has national importance, and there is a strong likelihood that the State Supreme Court decision violates the federal Constitution.”

The Pennsylvania Supreme Court extended the vote-by-mail deadline.    It was later accepted by the US Supreme Court.  That said, Amy Coney Barrett stayed on the sidelines.

Thanks.  Looks like he Supremes punted and indicate they will need to address this issue again.  The issue will be interesting in relation to the Covid restrictions  implemented across the country and civil suits brought concerning them.

This is a quote from Alito:

The Supreme Court of Pennsylvania has issued a decree that squarely alters an important statutory provision enacted by the Pennsylvania legislature pursuant to its authority under the Constitution of the United States to make rules governing the conduct of elections for federal office,”

It will be pretty interesting if this matters, and the court with Trump appointees has to make the call.

Alot of the bull$%!# would have been avoided if the idiot state legislatures would have allowed the mail in, absentee and early votes to be counted so the results could have been reported

first thing election day. Then you just have regular day election votes to deal with.  Easy peasy.

True.  Ideally there would be a uniform mandate on this issue so there is some continuity among the states, but it appears this is a state issue.  Without looking it up, I'd guess the absentee votes from the 1970-199s were a very small amount.   With the unprecedented volume of absentee ballots this year it's not surprising there are issues, and that the States were unable to get legislation in place to address the issues.

Did they actually know everything already though?

I have a hard time believing that Berry knew everything.  He definitely knew there was an issue I'm sure  However this kid was handled with kid gloves by the adults in his life to massage his way through the process to get to the end result they wanted (making a junior team, committing to a college, getting drafted) so don't think for a second that the info provided to Berry during the recruiting process was selective in nature.  Also, didn't the nasty part of this story come out after he already committed to UND?

I find this extremely difficult to believe.   At a minimum UND knew everything long before he stepped foot on campus.  I just can't fathom that the staff wouldn't do a google search on a potential recruit.  If I'm seeing this stuff without looking for it I see no way the UND was not aware.

I found Brad Miller's thoughts interesting.  He indicated that the staff gives a fair amount of weight to the current player's impression of the recruit, and that they have not offered high-end players for concerns about their character and fit..  I'd be curious as to what happened in this situation.

You will never see this number posted.  It doesn't fit the narrative and it would make people panic less if they realized hospitals routinely operate just fine with minimal excess capacity.

Another ramification of previously shutting stuff down.  In addition to the dramatic drop in cancer diagnosis, there is a pent up demand for other medical services which were needlessly put off while the hospitals/clinics sat empty.  Now the "crush the curve" strategy is actually going to lead to a shortage of space.

Chalk it up to "unintended consequences" which were completely obvious to anyone with a hint of common sense.

  12. There was an interesting discussion on CNBC this morning concerning undecided voters, and voters indicating that they are leaning slightly one way or the other.  The focus group firm indicated that the overwhelming conclusion from these folks is that these voters are weighing the abrasiveness of Trump's personality vs. the bad policies of Biden.  He indicated that 87.5%  of these voters favor Trump's policies, but approximately the same number prefer Biden personally.  He did mention historically undecided voters late in a race tend to vote for the challenger over an incumbent.
