  1. Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeesssssssssssssssssssssss! Chyzck
  2. Offensive ability of UND defense is really putting the pressure on NU. Power play UND.
  3. As soon as someone on the CBS line gets the puck, two NU players close on him. They need to find the open man and take advantage.
  4. Math is a funny thing, at least to some of us. To others, it is a complete mystery. HEA has six teams in the tournament out of twelve members. That equals 50%. The NCHC has four out of eight teams in the tournament, also 50%. So neither is greater than the other in that respect. If all teams were exactly equal, and winning came down to lucky bounces, HEA should have a 37.5% chance of winning the tournament based on having six out of sixteen teams, while the NCHC probability would be 25%. However, at least most of us realize that isn't the way it is. There are factors such as individual skill, team chemistry, coaching, illnesses, injuries, penalties, bone headed plays, good or bad ice, wacky bounces off the boards or glass or another player or an official. And officials are another wild card. So ultimately, coming down with the process to predict the exact winner is a process akin to calculating the exact value of PI. While some of us may enjoy math, it is pretty difficult to get excited enough to travel hundreds of miles, buy our favorite gear, dress up in our favorite color, spend hundreds or thousands of dollars, scream our heads off (actually frowned upon), or consume mass quantities of our favorite beverage for a math event. Can we get to the hockey part, please?
  5. To all complaining or whining about the team, just remember that you could have been born (or however they originate) a Gopher fan!
  6. As usual, the service was excellent and the food was great. And again, the sound system was great and made it easy to hear. BTW, MM you missed Ice Arena Man and I believe Sprig.
  7. I am expecting the SCSU-DU game to be a real barn burner. Hopefully it goes several overtimes. Should be real entertaining, though the Sioux games should be as well.
  8. Duluth is currently at 13. Their probability ranking is after the Frozen Faceoff, not the current ranking (pairwise).
  9. I felt sorry for Nehama. He was really hurting. I simply could not understand even starting him in that game.
  10. Now that the final conference playoffs are set, here is how the six conference tournaments stack up using the pairwise ranking of each team as a score: NCHC - 23 HEA - 31 ECAC - 53 B1G - 75 (Note that I had to drop the two lower teams to get to four teams) WCHA - 96 AHC - 125 Suffice it to say, the AHC and WCHA will suck up NCAA spots 16 and 15. If Michigan doesn't win the Little 6, there goes spot 14. So currently spot 13 in the pairwise looks to be fairly safe unless Dartmouth or St. Lawrence win the ECAC tournament or if Northeastern wins the HEA tournament. Spots 11 and up are for sure safe, 12 and 13 are mostly safe, 14 is real iffy, and 15 and 16 are gone. It looks pretty much like a typical year. This is getting real fun.
  11. It was, twin 3-0 shutouts for the guys in green.
  12. Cam now #1 in nation in GAA, after Yale got swept.
  13. Yes, starting three hours before each UND game on Friday and Saturday.
  14. My concern is that something is wrong with Cam Johnson. When he came off the ice he went straight to the locker room. He had not returned when I checked the bench later in the game. Hopefully he wasn't (or isn't) fighting a nagging or long term injury.
  15. At least it isn't lacrosse.
  16. My thoughts exactly. We were at the games in Kalamazoo and a couple of the freshmen learn quickly about keeping your head on a swivel. They have some big dudes, they play very physical, and they have some guys with speed. I am hoping that we don't lose anybody as they enter the critical part of the season.
  17. I certainly did not expect that UND fans would be singing "In Heaven There is No Beer" with plenty of gusto in the third period Saturday night. Of course, by that time the ratio of UNO fans to UND fans at the game had changed considerably and the number of empty seats had risen dramatically.
  18. None of them are in my possession, and I am not telling who has them.
  19. That is pretty much all of the info you will get. You have to come in person next year to see for yourself.
