  1. I think this is probably the best he could do, given the dolts at the NCAA.

I've seen arguments re: the courtship of certain tribal leaders. Personally, I'd like to see what it would take for the Tribes to support the name, whether it be scholarships, a required Indian history class, or whatnot. Whatever it takes to fully deserve to use the nickname above and beyond what the likes of FSU, etc. do, I think it would be worth it. There must be something the school can do so that the Tribes feel that they are truly being honored by the use of the name.

I think that needs to be negotiated as soon as possible so that the University has an opportunity to prove to the Tribes that it is truly "worthy".

P.S. Don't flame me. I'm a staunch supporter of the name, but I'm tired of the battle...

  2. I haven't fished Ashtabullhead since I was a kid. I think I had different sunscreen on my back than I did on the rest of me, because that's the only place I burned.

We were just fishing for fun and spending some quality time as a family.

I was only guessing based on Google Maps. So was it Golden Lake? N or S? I didn't catch it in the newspaper...

  3. IF YOU CAN'T BACK UP YOUR INFORMATION, THEN IT IS JUST A RUMOR. UNTIL YOU CAN BACK IT UP, IT IS JUST A RUMOR. PEOPLE WHO SPREAD RUMORS ARE OFTEN BETTER JUST KEEPING THEIR MOUTH SHUT.

  4. That's kind of a shame, but okay for now. Honestly, I wouldn't mind seeing BSU in the WCHA. They are new to DI and have become relatively competitive relatively quickly. Good luck to them in the future.

  5. STUPID play by radke, no reason for it at all, plain stupid. i saw that coming the minute he entered the camera going at EJ, damn lucky that didnt cost us the game, hell they barley got any shots on it thankfully...

I won't deny that it was a good call and a stupid play. But, yes, it looked like EJ was looking for the call and smirking afterward. Not a hard hit, but very dangerous. I think karmic justice would have prevailed if EJ would have gotten a call for diving to go along with Radke's penalty.

  6. Congrats on a very good year to the Gophers. I still don't know if I'd cheer for them even if they were the only WCHA team in the Frozen Four, but all the quotes and the press conferences that I've read or heard out of the Gophers after tonights game have been class acts. Anyway, thanks to the Gopher fans for their encouragement and support after a tough loss. And as many have said, it's a shame this game had to be played in a Regional and not in the Frozen Four or for all the biscuits. Hats off to the Gophers for a good game and a good year.

  7. Anyone know what channels Sunday's game will be on? I would "assume" that FSNorth would have it because it is a Gopher game, but the TV guide on my digital box does not indicate anything. How about FSSN?

As a side note, any reason why Midco does not have ESPNU? Or do they?

  8. watch the michigan presser as well, hensick says ref chirping at hi more than he was at him..still bad by him but i can see a ref doing this for sure..

I'm really disappointed that Hensick was whining as much as he did. Not much of a class act at all. No accountability for his own actions, blaming the ref... If he wanted to stay out of the box, he should have kept his mouth shut. What a Prima Donna.

  9. I was never really much of a football fan, but it certainly wouldn't bother me at all if NDSU and UND never played any kind of game against each other again. It's kind of one of those "agree to disagree" kind of things for me. NDSU will never be close to UND in my eyes, but I'm sure there are many NDSU alumni who see differently. Either way, I'm just indifferent any more.

  10. I don't get why some are so intimidated by the Mavericks. We went 4-1 against them last season. We're 3-0-1 against them this season. We're 0-2 against MTU, 1-3 against Wisconsin, 1-2-1 against UAA and 1-0-1 against UMD. There isn't another team in the lower half of the WCHA that I'd rather have the Sioux play.

I really don't like the way they seemed to be running into Lammy a lot the last time they played in GF. A little too chippy for my tastes...

  11. Wouldn't we need to win our 1st round playoffs series in order to have the chance to do that? Nothing like putting the cart before the horse.

Well, yes, but third place guarantees we don't play the Thursday night game of the Final Five. Fourth or fifth means we hope for another team or two to get upset in the first round of the playoffs to not play the Thursday game.

  12. That is a hell of a question. No doubt he had big shoes to fill following Blais. I think it is too early in his career to answer that question. No doubt he is one of the upper echelon coaches in college hockey. If he stays 10 years and wins a couple of national titles he will go down as one of the great's similar to Blais & Gasparini. If he stays and does not win any titiles he will be remembered as UND's version of Doug Woog.

    LMAO!!

  13. Well, I think Duncan is our ONLY chance. I would think that Oshie, Toews, and Bina's incident at Judy's takes them off the list of realistic finalists. Not that I am condemning them, I just think it is going to be a factor.
