  1. I agree that, in theory, UND should be pounding a lot of teams. That is mostly the strength of the program talking. However, BSU has a strong winning record against WCHA teams this year. They have as good a team as they have ever had. A road win against them at the Woodshed @ BSU is one I'll gladly take, even if it is only by 1 goal.
  2. Some jawing going on before the game at center ice tonight. Good. This team needs to get fired up and play more emotionally. They have looked flat way too often.
  3. Don't want to get into a fued amongst posters (I hate that stuff), but some of this post defines this team's problems right now. Hak, I think, wants this to be a team that develops into a great team over time. However, not many are seeing great development. In fact, what many are seeing is a talented team of potential NHL'ers that aren't exactly killing themselves out on the ice to get wins (with the exception of Oshie).

    Swept again!

You and I know it, Goon. At times, I think fans over-react to losses. Not right now. This team is making a habit out of losing. Lots of lousy team out there "work hard and try to stay positive". That is not UND's role.
  5. I think guys like Martens & Zajac were meant to fill those rolls. However, on a team where they have nearly as many points as players like Kozek & Watkins, I think the roles get blurred.

    Swept again!

This post is spot on again for tonight's loss to Tech. What some people see is a Sioux team that seems to be skating pretty hard and puts 30 shots on goal. What I see is a Sioux team that got outworked for 2.9 periods, then put 12 shots on goal in the last few minutes of the game. What that tells me is they could have pounded the net harder and had their way with Tech if they really wanted it. After all the friggen losses lately, you might have thought they would really want this one.
  7. Thank goodness I'm not just surrounded with the "everything is fine" and "you are not a good fan" crowd. I really get sick of that crap sometimes.
  8. Some would say this team is young and lacking top notch talent. Some say our offensive talent is not capable of producing. However, by my count, UND had SIX drafted forwards playing tonight, and THREE drafted defensemen, two of which were first rounders. I don't know how many Tech players are draftees, but I'm guessing they didn't have 9 on the ice. So, what is wrong with UND? Hak says he doesn't want to over-analyze it. Just wants to keep working. I respect that. However, I think that if this team hasn't developed a sense of determination and leadership on it's own, that needs to be injected through a shake up. The military does that when they throw a bunch of young guys together in basic training. First, you break them down slightly through hard workouts and some harsh attitudes from the drill sergeants. Then, you allow team spirit to build after the egos have been abated. It might be time for "boot camp". Not to exact vengence on the players, but to change the direction of this team.
  9. Most of us who post here will always love FS Hockey. That is why we are passionate and spend our precious Friday/Sat. nights doing this thing. So, having said that, Sioux played a weak, weak, weak game. 12 shots in the last 2 minutes tells me they could have done better during non-panic time, if they really wanted to.
  10. That's right. UND can pepper the opponent and score when the REALLY want to. Too bad the don't really want to until it is too late.
  11. I care about Sioux hockey. And I expect, when UND advertises a service, that it will be delivered. This is an old problem that has happened over and over. And, I'm pissed off. So, kindly let me have my rant.
  12. A shutout vs Tech? Being outshot by 2? Unthinkable!
  13. Free or not, a bunch of folks sat and waited and waited and waited. If it was human error, which has happened repeatedly, no possible exuse remains. And, by the way, I feel my standing as an alumni should not be so easily brushed off by those bozotskis as to provide such a lousy service, free or not.
  14. Pathetic! Some bozo forgot to flip the switch. If you are getting paid, you should be fired! If you are a student, you should have credit removed for screwing up.
  15. That is part of my problem with this team. They don't have any fire!
  16. You only get around 40 games a season to get it done. How can Hak say it's not "panic time" when this "team" has done jack in the last 8 games? Perhaps "panic" is the wrong word. But "shake up", "wake up", "smack down", something.
  17. The last time UND faced this guy in net, they scored 9 goals. It doesn't sound like 1 is even going to happen tonight.
  18. Two things that must be righted in the 3rd: ~Can not be outshot in this game. Down 2 shots at this point. ~Crash the net and score for cryin out loud! Don't skate past it - crash.
  19. Tom is a passionate AD, but his speaking skills are sometimes....kind of like Hak's!
  20. What is so maddening is that this team is not lacking in talent. I disagree with the folks who say we brought in a recruiting class that was sub-par, and that is why the team is struggling. The returning players are struggling. Take Porter & Fabian for instance. We could reasonably expect them to have better years as seniors than years past. They just are not doing it. The same can be said for our standout soph's. They just are not at the same level they were at the end of last season. No sugar coating. Not getting it done.
  21. Shep can probably be credited with Tech's first goal, as it came at the end of a totally botched phantom penalty on Jones. Having said that, 0-2 vs Tech going into the 3rd is pathetic. Do we have forwards?
  22. This game needs to be a turning point in SOME way. Win or lose, the boys need to fight, scrap, show that they care.
  23. Many of us who have been watching the Sioux for decades feel the same. Some of the old time teams had a lot more heart, and would never put up with Wisconsin blowing through our goaltender over and over again. A huge fight would have ensued...and then we would have pounded a few through Elliot. Not today. The Sioux in the Ralph remind me of the Sharks in San Jose: da-da-da-da-da-da-da...."Pizza"! Weak crowds that have been "Disney-ified". No real guts to see the team through. No Jeff Panzer on this team.
  24. Before the game, coach Hakstol said "This is not the time to get negative". I have to disagree. This team has plenty of talent to be a contender this year. Instead, they have now fallen to below .500. Not only that, but UND is the first team to lose to UW after the Badgers trailed going into the 3rd period. And, once again, the Ralph appears to be a favorite place to play for opponents, after UND has been swept again. So, when does this team come "Ready to play"? Seriously. Something is lacking in this team's mentality or preparation.
  25. I'm soooo pissed after watching this game. This is a game that Hak said "this is not the time to get negative". I disagree. UND is now having a losing season. They got swept at home - again. I believe it is time to shake this team up. They need some kind of butt kicking to get them going up to their potential. Right nowl they are not even close.
