  1. Quit turning every thread that mentions NDSU or SDSU into a "should NDSU be IAA" fight. This is NOT an anti-NDSU site and I'm getting tired of a small few UND fans trying to turn it into such. Discussion of NDSU sports is of interest, as they're a regional team, long-time rival, and recent conference opponent; but the continuous anti-Bison trolling is not welcome and is not protected by this being a board for UND fans.

Those who want to continue to debate ad nauseum the merits of NDSU's division classification should find an NDSU site.

  2. This may well be the MOST STUPID - MORONIC - LAME Justification for ANYTHING I've ever heard!!!

yes... :D ...events on a GLOBAL SCALE    "affected" your decision (I'd assume it was the beginning of a LONG losing streak to UND but who am I  )...sorry, trying to keep a straight face here   :0  :silly:   :)

...GET A GRIP you morons!!!  THE WORLD DOESN'T REVOLVE AROUND THE bison!!!  If you can explain this reference....go ahead...I'm all ears

ps - why do we bother with these self-absorbed IDIOTS!!!

This is a public post because it's directed to everyone, please keep down the taunting. The Bison and other opponents' fans here do a good job of heeding our requests to discuss the issues without smacking/trolling/personal attacks, and we expect the same from Sioux fans.

  3. Though there hasn't been any recent news from UND on the topic of reclassification, recent newspaper editorials examining potential UND reclassification have generated a lot of discussion in other forums on this site.

Because there has been enough discussion on the topic to start to dominate those forums, we'll reopen this forum to posting for a while. Please keep the discussion related to potential UND reclassification in this forum.

  4. Under My Controls -> Edit Avatar Settings, there's an option to upload an image from your computer.

It should probably be a GIF/JPG/PNG and has to be under 20k. Since the image is resized to 64x64, almost any image that size should be under 20k if you edit it down to that size on your computer. If you want to display an image over 20k, you can't upload it, so you would need to have it hosted somewhere else and simply include the link to it in your control panel.

  5. Does this forum software allow the function to ignore people?  It would be nice to be able to choose if we want to ignore the trolls.  It has worked great on another forum that I frequent, so it would be a nice option for people that want to use it.

Yeah, when you see a post from someone you judge ignorable, just click on their name and "ignore this user" should be one of the choices in their member card thingy. You can then manage those settings from "My Controls".

  6. Sorry we were a bit slow on moderation this afternoon, but please remember, this forum is not an appropriate place to discuss national politics.

Posters come here to discuss common issues with other affiliates of the Fighting Sioux/UND community. We feel that political discussions discourage rather than encourage new or casual members and are inherently divisive rather than inclusive. There are no shortage of Internet forums that encourage political discussion, so not having such a forum here shouldn't deprive any political junkies of a discussion opportunity.

  7. Sorry, I got your PM but hadn't replied yet. I've noticed other users are successfully uploading avatars. Perhaps you're hitting the file size limit? Can you check and make sure the file isn't over 20k? If it is, I can probably resize it for you so it fits under.

  8. ok, I give....

What's the "quote" button at the bottom of each posting for?  Used to use that to quote a post that you were replying to.  Now the "reply" button does that.

    Help.    :(

Update: OK, here's the deal, you can hit the quote button on multiple posts (it's a toggle switch) and then hit the "add reply" button at the top or bottom and include quotes from multiple other posts. The quick reply (embedded in each post, as opposed to the "Add Reply" at the top and bottom) automatically pulls in the replied-to message as a quote.

  9. It (ranking) will jump a bit is they win tonight also, but the polls don't mean anything. Later in the season, when all  teams have more games completed, check out the Pairwise Rankings links on the uscho rankings page. The 16 teams that are picked for the NCAA tourney are picked primarily from this ratings system (post season conference tourney winner gets an auto bid). Beating Maine, who is likely to end up with a good record in HE, will be important to the Sioux's pairwise ranking down the road.

Mandatory shameless plug: Or the PWR rankings on SiouxSports.com (which, in addition to the raw rankings you can also get from USCHO, lets you dive into the calculations behind the individual comparison components, if stats are your thing).

  10. It was directly relevent. Stop following me around and policing my posts. No one even whined about them being off topic.  :D  :)

I tried to demonstrate its irrelevance via an analagous post, but apparently that failed to sink in. This is a forum about UND. UND is DII. Quoting regs for another division you happen to follow is off-topic and distracting from the conversation.

I will not stop policing the forums. However, you will stop trying to change every conversation into being about DI, NDSU, or Fargo. This is not the place.

  11. Sorry folks, avoid the computer for a day and this is what happens.

Coming here to whine about postings on a different web site is ridiculous. If you want to discuss a post on a different message board with an opponents' fans, reply there!

While I know some Sioux fans honestly enjoy smack battles with Bison fans at every opportunity, the majority of frequent readers of this board who have contacted me do not and it seriously detracts from the usefulness of this forum as a source of Sioux football information. Since you're citing a post from Bisonville, I'm sure you're aware that they host a smack forum where so-inclined Sioux fans can go get smacked upon. Please don't drag it back here again.

  12. First, to clarify, the receipt of a password change request does NOT indicate that someone else has access to your account. When someone attempts to access your account by pretending to be you (but have forgotten your password) the board sends the email to your account's registered email address specifically to verify that it's really you making the request. As the email explains, as long as you ignore/delete the email, your account password will not change.

Second, I have taken the temporary measure of disabling password recovery until we can figure out who/what is responsible and take additional technical measures to prevent this inconvenience. In the interim, if you forget your password and need it reset, send feedback using the SiouxSports.com feedback form.

P.S. it would still help me a lot if someone who still had one of those emails could send it to me.

  13. I'm having troubles finding a record of those emails. Could you send the complete email to me in a PM or email (if your email client allows you to view the full headers, that would actually be the most helpful part of the email).

Needless to say, if you receive such an email and did NOT request a password change, do not click on any sort of confirmation link.

In the interim, I've taken a few additional technical steps to deny banned persons access to the board, but it's definitely just a first step.
