  1. A number of folks on this board have noted your continued negative comments and disrespect for players and teams. I would just like to join the list of those who are tired of reading your childish comments. Things must be uninteresting in your life if your only contribution on this board is to run down teams that are just trying to enjoy the game even though they are not posting many wins. I think it is a credit to these teams to work through seasons like that. They don't need to hear your depreciating commentary.
  2. The main loss was Marc and I don't think Jim or Jake Brown was missed.
  3. I see on the news that Crookston lost to North tonight 5-4. Crookston came back from a 5-2 deficit with about 7 minutes to go. Any news on other games.
  4. Eye ahgree wit 'livs-two-pay-hokey' al skools due wat hee sade. Inn evry confrence two.
  5. At the F/M Jets invite camp ND/Northern Minnesota boys do well as Team Red backstopped by Beau Christian of Moorhead (and 6' 5" Martin Iberer of Austria Jr. A) defeated Team Black 5-2. Team Red had goals from Nick Klenow (Fargo), Robbie Phillip (Thief River), Marc Mihulka (Grand Forks). The invite camp continues through Sunday with the All Star game. Other notables in the tryout include: Jeff Foss (Moorhead), Tyler Swanson (West Fargo), Brooks Dezellar (Holy Angels), Dayn Belfour (Victory Honda AAA), Grant Larson (Fargo South), Keaton Smith (Holy Angels), Kevin Jones (Duluth Marshall), Ian Stauber (Duluth Marshall), Jack Connolly (Duluth Marshall), Bho Olson (Holy Angels), as well as many others. Most of the returning Jets are there (or potentially returning depending if they jump to the USHL). These include Paul Weisgarber, Chris Connolly, etc.
  6. I think it is a great story. Top Shelf your first sentence is nonsense - bantams drinking and using drugs - check that list of kids. Hopefully you are joking but your comment adds no substance or facts but detracts from a good group of kids. To credibly indicate that the Minnesota team did not show up - you would need some evidence to support that statement and unless you were there you have no credibility but plenty of unsupported theory to minimize an accomplishment.
  7. Siouxsports is a diversified board that includes many different topics and many different sports. If you review the board listings you will see football, basketball, and other sports. The lead thread today has a link to GPA info on Sioux players in every single sport at the University - tennis, golf, hockey, and even - soccer. In the UND Community section you will find diverse topics and different sports discussed from time to time. The thread we are currently in is entitled 2005-06 ND High School Hockey and there have been references to sports that other hockey players have done - e.g. Marto for football and baseball, Dingeman above for baseball, and as I noted - Klenow for soccer. A lot of readers find additional info on some of these athletes to be of great interest. When Sioux recruit Mike Forney of Thief River Falls is discussed, in other threads on this board, as a great quarterback with multiple football D-I contacts people don't come out saying, hey this is a hockey board - knock it off - it is not right to say that here. Lighten up and open yourself up to a little more info about some of these players if it is given.
  8. That is basically a good assessment of his team this year. The year before North had a much better team. After the 04-05 season Klenow was the sixth leading scorer returning in the state (35 points) behind Paul Campbell (52), Tom Campbell (45), Andy Dittus (42), Paul Moch (39), and Marc Mihulka (36). In addition, all of those players were in more games according to Center Ice magazine. Paul Moch from Mandan fell out of the picture in 05-06 as Mandan had a poor team as well. The remaining top 25 scorers for 04-05 who returned include Paul Weisgarber (35), Erick Galt (34), Adam Campbell ((34), Brett Ritchie (33), Tyler Klein (30) and Zach Miller (30). Klein and Ritchie also had poor years as the former was also at North and the latter played for a very weak Jamestown team. The team you play for means a lot, especially in the East Region. Regarding All-State, Klenow made that team for soccer. I think there are a number of North Dakota high school hockey players who ended up under-rated because of the teams that they played on.
  9. N.D. boys take second at Showcase By Tribune Sports Staff BENSENVILLE, Ill. - Team North Dakota posted its best finishes ever in both the boys and girls divisions of the Chicago Showcase hockey tournament - and the boys came within a goal of winning the prestigious tournament, which includes some of the top high school talent in the country. The North Dakota boys stunned previously unbeaten Pittsburgh 4-3 in Sunday morning's semifinals. Then in the championship game North Dakota rallied from a two-goal deficit in the final four minutes of regulation before falling to New Jersey in overtime, 3-2. North Dakota had never placed higher than third before this year. On the girls side, North Dakota had never advanced beyond the quarterfinals. This year it got as far as the semis, where North Dakota fell to Illinois 5-2 in Sunday's semifinals. "It was a good showing all-around," said Bob Gillen, the former Hazen-Beulah boys coach who served as assistant general manager for the boys team. Bismarck's Ross Monson had two assists in North Dakota's semifinal win over Pittsburgh, setting up the first goal and the last. The game was tied 2-2 early in the second when North Dakota scored twice just nine seconds apart, getting goals from Fargo Shanley's Marc Harrie and Red River's David Hovet. Frustrations boiled over at the end of the game as Pittsburgh - which was hit with a misconduct earlier in the game was assessed with six 10-minute misconducts, five game misconducts and a match penalty at the game's conclusion. The North Dakota players kept their cool and did not get any penalties. In the championship game, Tony Principato scored two third-period goals, breaking the scoreless tie. Fargo North's Nick Klenow sparked North Dakota, scoring a short-handed goal with just 3:56 remaining. Paul Campbell of Grafton-Park River then tied it up with 1:15 left in regulation. But Principato completed his hat trick at 6:46 of the 10-minute overtime session to clinch the title for New Jersey.
  10. What a way to go out - with every word spelled correctly. This is historic.

  13. Sorry but I am not from Grand Forks. Yeah, I'm scared. Actually, I'd like to see some sportsmanship from that team regardless of how they play. South does a lot better on their home ice, not fair that they have to play a Grand Forks team in Grand Forks, opps I forgot, I guess they lost at the Coliseum too - ohh well, I think they had a bad game there too.
  14. I agree with QBEagles it is too bad that there is not more sportmanship from the top. As for the comment of cory1 about south playing one of their worst games - well, that is the kind of whinning you hear all the time from south fans when they lose or do not win big time - we played badly blah, blah, blah. Well maybe you played badly because the other team played better, your kids did not produce on that given day, maybe they choked, or are too cocky, etc, etc. South is great for excuses, excuses, excuses. Too bad the leadership at south cannot provide a better example for their players at this important stage of their lives. It will be interesting to see if south is able to win with class or not. A lot of hockey fans are asking that question.
  15. Before your next post you might want to vist this site as well as several others that offer more of the same: http://www.betterwritingskills.com/
  16. A few observations on posts over the last few days. When Junior24 made his original post he had the spelling "Weisgarbage" as that is what I saw in his original post as I was online when he posted it. That post was changed shortly thereafter but my feeling is that his original spelling "error' was caught and those who cited him did not tamper with it - just my view. The original "error" (putdown) of Weisgarber came from Jagrfan around Feb 7th when he referred to the south player in that way. Stars9 has no disrespect for Mr. Weisgarber as the context of his posts on this thread clearly show. Now, tron3050 has not been a core contributer over the season but jumps in, starting in February, with a combination of player putdowns and an attempt to analyze. We would all be better off if the childish attacks would stop. You have to ask yourself what your putdowns really accomplish. These sorts of comments just show that some people are too immature to handle discussions on a high school hockey thread. The anonymity of this type of forum is too much for some and the cowardly nature of their comments is clear to all reasonable contributors to this thread.
  17. I do believe the last three games of the day are on the radio (WDAY).All the Fargo teams games.
  18. As we look at the high school hockey thread we se several categories of posters. We see people who try to provide information without tearing people down and then we see the category of one or two post wizards whose main goal is to proclaim their team is the best, their player(s) are the best, or their town is hockeytown USA. We seem to have another poster (tron3050) in this latter category. You have to wonder what motivates a person to jump into the thread to spread that kind of talk. Hopefully we will not be burdened with too many "one" and "two" post wonders who feel we want to hear about the big axe they have to grind at someone else's expense.
  19. Why would someone from Central want to post about Red River players? Sad deal that kids from Red River have to be embarassed by comments like this. It really makes some of the kids in their program look like a joke which is a slap in the face to the top players on Red River's team. I would guess that this guy is probably someone's little brother and could be in elementary school based on the spelling and grammar errors. This whole thing detracts from an excellent hockey tradition at Red River. In addition he can't even spell the names of the players and he claims that "Melon sucks". I guess my only question would be as to the type of melon - would that be a cantalope or maybe watermelon? I think from what I have seen of one of these players he may have some future in golden gloves - great boost to your team to get a game DQ but I suppose if I were in elementary school I might think that was cool.
  20. Or, who knows how poor of a save percentage they might have if they had faced twice as many shots.
  21. You are mistaken - go to NDHAA web page. South beat Grafton 2-1. (2 goals) RR beat Grafton 4-1. (4 goals) RR is +2. (goals scored) If South would win Thursday3-2. (3 goals) They would have a total of 5 goals scored. RR would need to score 2 goals in their next meeting with Grafton and of course win, and they then would have a total of 6 goals aginst Grafton and would win tie breaker rule 6-5.
