  1. Sprig,

Well I did check the records and I find the Gopher being 6 wins 3 losses at REA. To me that is a GREAT road winning percentage in the WCHA.

    2001-2002 season 3-0

2002-2003 season did not play at REA

    2003-2004 season 0-2

    2004-2005 season 1-1

    2005-2006 season 2-0.

Enough said, I will let this thread drop. With so many underclassman signing with the NHL, there will be more and more #1 seeds not making it to the FF. This is good for college hockey, but bad for programs like ND and Minnesota. We lost 4 underclassman last year and ND lost somewhere around 5. It will be hard to continue to make a run at the FF with very few Srs. on the roster.

  2. I try not to put anything negative about a team on there own board. This does not include your team, only many of your fans. You need to get over the fact that YOUR biggest rival (it doesn't go both ways, Wisconsin is ours) lost to HC last year. Its one thing to enjoy the moment, but you people go on and on and on and on about it. Yes I enjoyed Ferris State beating ND a few years ago at Mariucci, but after I left the arena it was over. I wast't calling it my greatest moment at Mariucci 7 months latter. If you don't have a ND moment that is better to talk about then what does not say much about your program. The only thing I can come up with is ND beats the Gophers so seldom at the REA, that you have to take joy in someone else beating them. See some of you at Mariucci in January, it should be a fun time.

Funny you should bring up the 79-80 teams. I was sitting around with some friends (Ya, I have a few) the other day. We had each consummed several local brews and we started talking about the 1980 Gopher team. It sure would have been nice to see that team with Mike Ramsey, Rob McClanahan, Eric Strobel, Steve Chritoff and Neal Broten on it. Maybe the biggest loss that year was lossing the coach, Herb Brooks. All of these players would have been on that team, except they went to play on the 1980 Olympic team. WHO knows what would have happened. MAYBE with those players we go on and win the National Championship. Then it it would be 6=6, not 7>5. Oh well, that could be a thread all in its self. Another reason you measure a hockey program in othere ways than just how many NC it has won.

  4. Hmmm I wonder if some Gopher poster will come in and take offense to that. :D

Why would a Gopher fan take offense to that. It is to be expected. I want UND to lose most of there WCHA games. It is the way a rivalry is suppose to be.:huh::D

  5. The WCHA FF can stand on its own merit. This tourament will sell out for the championship games whenever Wisconsin, ND, SCSU, Mankato or Duluth are playing. If you have a championship game of CC and Denver, attendance may be in trouble. We are past the point of having to say the Gophers get the night game, because its the only way it will sell out. Does anyone remember what the attendance was at last years final?

  6. The good and the bad of all these college kids going high in the draft.

Good that the talent is there and the NHL thinks so highly of them.

Bad that we only get to watch them for a year or two. Sometime you don't get to watch them at all. (Muller and maybe Johnson).

  7. Waste money?? ;)

I love hockey. I spend MY money on hockey stuff that I enjoy having around. I don't buy it for anyone else but ME.

Why should that matter to you? It's not like I'm asking you for a hand out to pay for it. It's not like I'm going to bequeath you any of my worldly possessions when I die. It's not like I'm taking food out of your mouth when I write out a check for whatever hockey stuff I want.

    Knock it off!

I want this stuff and will continue to buy what ever hockey thing makes me happy

I even have a Goldy stuffed thing. He has green stars glued over his eyes and a green and white noose around his neck. He makes me smile whenever I look at him. ;)

I just wish I could find my Ferris State Jersey.

  9. If becky losses elloit, theywill be lucky to get home ice in the WCHA next year. If they don't lose any underclassmen, they will be favored to win the WCHA next year. Then all they have to do is go out and do it. It won't happen.

  10. Your team lost.... deal with it and GET OVER IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Just beacause your favorite team (The gophers) didn't make it into the frozen four doesn't mean you have to bug the real Champions (The Fighting Sioux) fans. I mean why dont you get over your self. :)

  11. And their fans, the poor babies, are upset that they have to travel at all. :silly: If the Sioux teams of the past had received the same type of favortism there would be so many banners in the REA you wouldn't be able to see the ceiling. ;)

I would be glad to go out East this year, but the guidelines for the regionals are to keep #1 seeds as close to home as they can. Has nothing to do with anything else.

  12. To STACK:

What kind of as*ho*e are you. I don't care if it would be a clean hit, anyone that wish's another teams player to get hurt has some serious mental problems. Have a nice life. Oh, you right I don't mean that. I hope your life sucks.

  13. Rats. I was hoping for a Warroad return to the state tournament.

Must've been one hell of a game. Four OTs. An instant classic.

Warroad's road this year, after their loss of talent last year, is a continuing

testament to its program, and to its staff.

If the program was worth its weight they would be playing AA. I know they are a small school, but they have enough kids to play AA, they are afraid to go up against the big boy's night after night.

  14. You couldn't have been there.....I was there and the UofM section was empty for the championship game, because instead of supporting the WCHA conference and having that arena rocking, all of their fans were licking their wounds and being cry-babies.

  15. Wait a second, the Gophers were in only two of the top-10 rivalries? According to their fans, they should be in all 10 because they are everyone's biggest rival! ???

I didn't see any other school listed more than once, but then I might have missed one.

  16. Kessel with the classy hand to ear after he scores. What a stud

Not saying its a great move on his part, but the becky fans booed him everytime and I mean everytime he touched the puck all week-end. I see no problem in answering the fans.
