  1. The rule states that a player must have 3 steps to be a pentaly shot rather than a tripping call.
  2. FSH vs. GPR Top two teams in the state square off tomorrow in Grafton. This game could very well decide who wins the EDC.
  3. Porter does't have the best vision on the ice but he can finish with the best of em. Stafford and Zajak would be able to find him and let him do the rest. I don't think you should even think about splitting up Osh and Toews with the numbers they've put up so far playing together.
  4. Yeah I'm sure those kids are just crushed now that someone said they might have gotten a minor.
  5. Red River should get to state but Central is going to need to get very lucky if they are going to make it to state.
  6. The call was marginal at best, not a call that should be made considering the situation. It may have cost them the win in regulation but they can't blame anybody but themselves for the go ahead goal.
  7. South may not have won state but they clearly did have the best team in the state. Red River may have beaten them when it counted most but South did beat them three times prior to the state tournament.
  8. Specifics is the poster who said that Walski was not on the same level as Okland. I think what he meant by that is that if you look at Aaron Walski as a senior in high school (and I might add he is a great kid and an excellent goalie who deserves all the opportunity he can get with the Sioux) that Aaron had not accomplished what Okland had done at the same stage of development. As good as Aaron was he never went to a US Hockey National Select Festival - Okland did and he had the top save percentage among all goalies at the Festival. In fact, he was named as an alternate to the US team that went to Europe later that summer. Also, Okland was picked up by a NAHL team as a junior and senior in high school. I think that is the basis of the comparison - where those two players were at the same stage of their careers - not comparing OKland now to the current Sioux player Walski. Who knows - maybe Okland will be playing for the Sioux in a couple of years too. Also, and I don't mean this as a put down to Aaron but he played juniors after high school on the Junior "B" level before moving on to Lincoln in the USHL. I think on objective look at the facts will clearly show that based on experiences going into the start of their senior year Okland has better credentials. Again, hockey can be a twisted path to the top - I don't mean to minimize Aaron who is a fine goalie. At the same age Okland's resume seems to be more impressive. That's my read on this comparison. Again, the puck is dropped in about a month - then we can talk about performance and not speculation. <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
  9. With Weisgarber and Galt working the powerplay up top like they do, it won't matter who is on the penalty kill. North should be one of the easier teams to score on on the powerplay because they have zero defensemen. South will pick apart opposing teams penalty killing units all year.
  10. There are no more unbeatens, but if south plays the way they are capable of playing, no one could even come close.
  11. Fargo South and Grafton. No one else will even come close...
  12. Is Fargo South going to have any weaknesses this season?
  13. Does anyone know how the Elite I and II teams and players are doing?
  14. Any predictions on who will be Mr. Hockey this year? With Willert gone I'm guessing it will be Galt from South, or one of the Campbells.
  15. The success of Grafton will depend on their goaltending. The Campbell's can finish as well as anyone in the state but their defensive game in nonexistant.
  16. The top forward and d-man in the state will both be from Fargo South. Paul Weisgarber and Erik Galt should be a huge threat especially on the powerplay. The top goalie in the state will defintely be Tony Kringstad from Grafton.
  17. "star studded"?... More like 2 players...
  18. I think it'll be South and GPR in championship with South winning 3-1. GPR has been playing great and i think they'll beat Minot in the semis.
