NDSU really splattered over SDSU several times, not.  NDSU only got in because WIU had one good game over SDSU.

Most of their fans wanted to fire Richman before they made it.

Well the school did build him a new arena, practice facility,  provided cost of attendance and is shelling out for charter flights to places like Macomb. His coaching has been above average at best but the school has given him whatever he has needed. Kind of makes the point about it being all about football dumb. The sports that struggle at NDSU are because of poor hiring decisions and not due to a lack of support. That said I think UND FB is in a similar spot, just bad hire after bad hire. The Bubba hire was just awful, he had a resume that screams nothing by mediocrity. A retread brought in simply because of the past. Your AD needs to look for some fresh blood.

Northern Colorado wouldn’t stabilize the Summit with football.  WIU wants the MVFC so they join the Horizon, leaving the Summit still short of six football teams.

The Horizon is built around urban schools, WIU is about as far away from that as you can get. Macomb makes Vermillion look like Vegas. If WIU goes anywhere it will probably be a lower division. Nobody wants them, they are a struggling school that brings nothing to the table.

As has been said before, the Summit will add a D2 school and the NCAA will give the league waivers until said school is eligible.

where did they lose their top recruit to?

Probably UNLV but he is visiting Iowa State tomorrow..he was probably one of the best recruits the Summit has gotten, three star from Kansas...Rabbit fans saying a JUCO they were looking at also may end up at UNLV.

SDSU is going to fall quite a bit next year it appears.

They lost their best player to graduation, their best recruit and now their best returning player....Quite the trifecta. Wonder if he ends up at UNLV?

I've come around a bit on the idea of Augustana joining the Summit.  If it would result in eliminating this preposterous and haphazard basketball schedule through the season, then I can get on board.  In the grand scheme of things, Auggie isn't going to make the Summit much less attractive than it already is.

They don't really have much of an effect on our schools, I guess their will be some minor recruiting impacts with more competition in the region. It is a significantly bigger issue for the SD schools, who look like nothing but pushovers to whatever Sanford demands.

Man every time I hear or see Brian Shaun all I can’t think about is how he is a big traitor on all of these NDSU broadcasts as he is a UND alumni. Tough to watch

Odd, I never think of that in regards to Jack Michaels. Just a guy trying to do a job that he loves.

SDSU won't play on a neutral court again the rest of the season until the Big Dance.  They own the Summit Tourney.

If anything Daum gets more calls in SF,  the UND fans complaining haven't seen nothing yet.

If you guys really want to keep defending 186-208 jones, then go for it but I’m hoping to actually be relevant.

At least he isn't as bad as Richman, North Dakota coaching toliet bowl on Saturday.

Coming from the guy who says presidents make conference affiliation decisions, are you really surprised they don't want to affiliate with a school like Grand Canyon U?

Yeah, GCU is pretty much the reason why Denver is in the Summit.

The CAA has six teams with three losses that can potentially qualify.  But two can be knocked out next weekend, as Elon plays Maine and James Madison against Towson.  But Stony Brook and Delaware can lose too.

The Southern Conference might get three, but the Southland and OVC don’t deserve even one ( but they have autobids).

The good thing is UND hasn’t been blown out by an FCS school yet.  Other four or five loss teams have been.

Both JMU and Towson are in, they are playing for a seed. Elon might be in some trouble though since they had a cancelled game but the comittee might show them some mercy. CAA clearly going to get at least five in.

I think the big game for UND next week is really Montana-MSU. You have the trump card on the griz.

He was banned by Bisonville I am assuming, too?

I think his posts were restricted due to his obsession with a certain school, then he had a meltdown and joined with up with lakes on his board.

But after what he did at CS.com I don't think even lakes wanted him around.

Why not offer to switch IPFW for UWGB for no cost?  Offer to help UWGB with scheduling if they add hockey.  Green Bay would be an outlier for the Horizon if Milwaukee gets in the MVC and IPFW is right in the center of the Horizon.

But you never hear any viable proposals from the Summit as Douple doesn’t have vision.  Don’t need more DII teams as that signifies the Summit League is a bottom feeder to even recruits..

I agree Douple lacks vision in pretty much every area. He has pretty much lucked into being in the right time and situation with the Dakota schools and he is milking it for all it is worth. Going along with this Augie farce is taking it to far.

Krabbenhoft talks a good game for Augie going to the Summit. Later, he talks of creating a 10 year plan.  It’s already too late for a DII to get invited to DI.  Bisonville and SD boards can calm down.

I don't think Augie was targeting this year, they seem to be gearing up more for next year or a bit later based on what Kelby is talking about.

Have been to both Boise and Sioux Falls...

    Boise is a beautiful city.

Sioux Falls... Well, let's just say that on a clear day you can smell Sioux City

I'm sure Boise is great but it isn't easy to get to from eastern ND. Only thing making SF tough is the stretch of I94 from the ND border to Watertown.

My only issue with the Summit tournament is that the title game should be on a Sunday, should follow a similar format as the MVC.

Same reason they have already given multimillions of dollars to other universities around the region?

It's one thing giving $10-20 million to stick your name on a building of a flagship state university, it is something else to give a small private school $100 million to move up a division.

Didn't they put a bunch of money into their Football program not too long ago?

Is there real steam to this or is this just the SF media really being hopeful......

No idea really, it seems odd though that a reporter would state it so bluntly if there wasn't.

Augie probably wouldn't mind playing football against a bunch of small private schools in the Pioneer. What I don't get is why would the SD schools want this?
