I think the point has less to do with the Gophers and more to do with fairness for the team who won the play-in game the previous night.

I watched the Gopher Hockey Preview on FSN, and Lucia thinks the top will come down a bit and the bottom is going to start to come up. Basically, it's a good year to be a not-so-great team.

I agree... however, chants like that are probably making the NCAA feel better about their stance on the nickname. And I don't think the "racist mascot" chant was started by a group of concerned citizens for the greater good...
