Just watched the post-game interviews. Schmaltz isn't the best interview ever, but I highly suggest watching Knight's...just a great example of the passion and love these kids have for this program.

Agreed. I think that comment of Gwoz getting his due was more in reference to the waived off goal, icing, and other crap calls (or lack thereof), not the hit on Knowlton. That stuff needs to be called, regardless of who commits it and who receives it.

So if Minny gets 3, the Sioux split, and SCSU chokes, then we lose the cup to Minny by 1 point. In that scenario, the '7' at the end of our current 13-6-7 is agonizing.

Ha it would be a cruel (but hilarious for opposing fans) fate for SCSU to lose the cup by getting 1 or 0 points from Wisconsin. If I remember correctly, they've never been in the chase for the cup. At least not past the month of January. I'm not a huge fan of sharing my toys, but it would seem somehow fitting to end the current WCHA with a 3-way tie.

All I can say is, after how Wisco played at Omaha, I'd be a little nervous if I were SCSU.

I think everyone would trade those. There's no way that FF championships are better than national titles. But for every program not named BC, national titles generally come few and far between. And while winning the FF certainly isn't 'everything', it also isn't 'nothing.' (Sorry for the double negative)

You should know by now that positivity isn't allowed on Siouxsports. What were you thinking?!

If anyone is able to post the video of the tribute to the seniors, it would be greatly appreciated. I'm sure I'm not the only one who wouldn't mind watching it again.

What game were you watching? Cause I certainly don't think tonight showed a mere 15 minutes of 100% effort. Yes, there were some mistakes made. Yes, we all expected a sweep. But I didn't see a single Sioux player who wasn't busting his butt and trying to create opportunities and breakthrough some absurd levels of obstruction and holding. And, bottom dweller or not, I think tonight's tie was a better effort by the Sioux than the tie against the Gophers.

UND hasn't lost on a Saturday since Nov 24th, so I don't really think you can say we don't play well on Saturdays.

Mine was too. I switched to audio, then switched back to video, and it's now working. Took awhile the 2nd time too, though.

I think he usually plays a few minutes in the exhibition against Manitoba, but I can't recall him ever getting non-exhibition time.

I certainly hope so! If nothing else, someone will post it on youtube in a day or two.

That would be my bet, too. I remember some of the guys commenting on how hard they tried to play in front of Tate when he got a little time in one of the exhibition games. I can only imagine it would be even moreso for senior night.

Watching the webcast, I thought so too. And I'm guessing that that was the intent (since Gleason clearly wasn't aiming for the goal). But they ask the players when it's hard to tell, so if Grimaldi had touched it, I just think he would have said so.

Coming in to the weekend, 4 hockey east teams were tied for first in the league. After last night, BC and UMass-Lowell are tied for first, UNH is 1 pt back in 3rd, BU and Providence are tied for 4th and only 2 pts back and Merrimack is only 1 pt behind them. Their race is just as crazy as ours!

I'm guessing Gleason's goal went in off the defender, not Grimaldi, since it clearly changed directions. And as stand up as he is, I'm skeptical Grimaldi said he didn't touch it just so Kristo could get his point against BSU. I highly doubt any of them care. Great job by Mitch to show everyone what kind of shot he has. That was a sniper goal. Rodwell definitely played with an edge last night. I'm not totally sold on Gaarder yet, but I think everyone else up front deserves to play again tonight. A ton of sloppy passes and missed pucks by the D tonight. Against BSU that's not the end of the world, but against Kato next weekend, those are going to turn into goals. I expect they'll pull it back together tonight. Here's hoping for a more wide-open style tonight, now that the boys know what they have to do. Score early and score often. We want Tate!!

I don't think they can just add more scholarships, but the other sport doesn't have to be hockey. I know when I swam in undergrad and there wasn't a men's team, we were tied to men's wrestling for Title IX purposes.

As watchmaker noted, in terms of money, it's not likely that ASU would join because their priorities are in football. In terms of skill, however, they are pretty consistently at the top of the club level, so they'd be a great program to switch to D1. And on the plus side, you wouldn't have to worry about being stranded there because of blizzard conditions.
