  1. I know this isn't Sioux hockey related, but this must be like the first time Sioux fans saw Robbie Bina standing.I hope no one minds me posting this. Word has just been released that our Rutgers football player,Eric LeGrand, is standing. This is someone who when he was paralyzed last October in a game, was told by some doctors he would never walk or even breathe on his own. What a GREAT and BLESSED day for Eric and his Mom.

  2. If the new league is looking for a good TV deal,do you see them pulling into any of the large state universities in the highly-populated Northeast, such as UMass,UConn, or Maine or perhaps a private school in a large city such as Boston University or Boston College ?

  3. What a crazy day that was getting to that game. Everyone told me that five and a half hours would be plenty of time to get from here at the New Jersey Shore to Boston. Well, the ENTIRE state of Connecticut was under construction. At one point,it took an hour to go one and a half miles. I am not a big fan of cities and really was hoping to get there with plenty of daylight. My ride up took NINE AND A HALF HOURS !!! When I finally sat down in my seat, there were five minutes left in the second period !!! I barely caught my breath and it was time to drive home which fortunately only took about five and a half hours. I must have had three gallons of Pepsi to keep me awake. At least the Sioux won !!!

  4. Sioux-cia,

If you get a chance,go check out the hockey arena at Northeastern University. It is REALLY old--I believe it is the oldest college arena and one one of the oldest arenas anywhere. From what I remember it is near Fenway Park.A few years ago,I drove up to see the Sioux play there and sat next to FargoSioux and one of his children).

  5. Thanks for the info. YaneA.Hope your recovery is complete and are feeling well. Maybe it will be a hockey/more sightseeing weekend if everyone can guarantee that it will be in the 50's again in November :)

  6. Siouxmama,

Tell your children they get the jerseys...if they pay for half...by selling pizzas...in the parking lots at The Ralph...before games...in mid-January :)

  7. I am hoping/thinking about heading out West again this year for another football/hockey tripleheader. For those of you in the know, are there any hockey games set for the October 22 or November 5 weekends ?

  8. For those of you who may be interested, Eric has recently gained substantial movement in his neck and shoulders. He has an electric wheelchair that he moves himself with an attachment that is moved by his tongue. He will be taking two classes via computer from a relatives' home that has more open space than his Mom's home. Eric has said that he hopes to get into sports broadcasting someday. Many fundarisers are being held to raise funds for him--everything from bowling, pro sports autograph sessions,sewing,concerts,walks,T-shirts sales, bake sales, and motorcycle runs. Please keep praying and believing.

    BELIEVE 52 ERIC LEGRAND

  9. This is a GREAT program to be fan of--with or without championships !!! North Dakota fans are VERY fortunate.Already thinking about when I can get out to North Dakota again.----Remember,I waited 137 years to win a bowl game at Rutgers,so I can wait one more year for a hockey championship with the Fighting Sioux.

GO NORTH DAKOTA FIGHTING SIOUX !!!

    GO RUTGERS SCARLET KNIGHTS !!!

  10. I heard that Siouxmama and her family is providing free pizza to the Fighting Sioux fans who make the trip to Saint Paul..I figure a half pizza per fan,so that would only be 7,500 pizzas. Oh,by the way,you are going to be doing this on Saturday too !!! :)
