My two game headlines and sub-headlines:
Saturday:
UND EKES OUT TIE: Plays well at times but CC almost edges Sioux anyways
Sunday:
UND ESCAPES WITH WIN: Zajac OT goal edges Tigers
Seriously, Eidsness was huge, but my Sunday POTG is Zajac. He had a huge weekend even though Hextall out scored him.
Folks, if TH is right and this is what playoff hockey is truly going to be like we're in trouble.
They converted on nearly 35% of their PP and they were something like 2 for 6 today. That doesn't look too bad, but 2 of their PPs were negated by CC penalties.
That's awful.
We don't shoot enough on the powerplay when we do have them, even though Brad Schlossman is correct that you can't just blast away if you don't have a lane. HOWEVER, if you pass yourselves into the next century, you'll get your first shot in the closing seconds of the PP if at all. You RARELY score goals off the pass. Passes can set up goals, but you have to shoot the puck to score.
This is the second week in a row that we've looked dominant one minute and atrocious the next.
Also, 2nd periods have been just brutal.
Need to fix that. FAST.
Good win, but not very satisfying to me.
OK. CC looked pretty good, Yeah we didnt play well at times but we found a way to get three points out of the weekend. We can win the WCHA next week..... Calm Down. The sky isn't falling!!!!

If the refs did that it would cheapen the league and I can't see it happening. I am just as much a conspiracey theorist as anyone but I dunno
the league would lose all credibility if this happens.

The goofs will get a win this weekend... It helps us in the pairwise!!! And they have to win to keep any hope for a playoff birth. But i just dont see the gophers making it to the final five.

Damn - must be some Sioux fans at the WI-DU game. There was a scrum resulting in penalties. I am sure the Sioux were at fault.

There does seem to be alot of pregame hype for this series. (Love it) But i guess every series is HUGE now. 8 hours to go!

Just because the Pios have 10 fans that cheer only when they score a goal, that know nothing about the game and for some reason think its figure skating. They are all just like Gwoz. We are so sorry that you didnt feel welcome at a rivals home game, next time we will hand out teddy bears again to make you feel more at home!

So he cheated VS. UND, but UAA will get the benefit of Gwoz being gone for one game? I dont see how this is fair. Should DU get a point for Saturdays game if they cheated?

This will probably be banned before it makes it to a higher level of hockey. They are trying to increase scoring not make it tougher.

Baby Lucia sure got the hell out of there fast when Jones lost it...Their players seem to have a long and storied tradition of pussing out.
The Goofers should add a tagline to their hockey program:
Golden Goofer Hockey - We will hit you when you are laying on the ice, (as ordered by our coach) but if you want to settle it by dropping the gloves, we are outta here and you are classless for even thinking of such a thing...
I love this tagline!!! So True. gopher fans should watch the game on mute so they arent brainwashed by woog and Mazzaco saying everything is the Siouxs fault!

I dunno... I'm not exactly a big fan of a propane tank with the valve on fire being that close to me... many other people were getting closer to it to take a look... I was backing away because I didn't want it to blow up
Well it was a pretty exciting moment! The fire department showed up about a half hour after the incident. Whoever threw it across the street had a pretty good arm! Im ready to freeze my butt off again this weekend but now we will need to order pizza instead of grilling.

I had a final tonight and it wasn't terrible since the wind wasn't blowing, but it was still plenty cold. I always lose my gloves at the wrong time. Luckily I lost one glove from two different pairs to make one pair!!! That should have been enough math to pass my Calc final, but doubt if it was.
Which Calc final? I just took my Applied Calc finaland bombed it.

Change the song every weekend and show different pictures or something. Its a great idea but change it up a little. I dont think it would take much time to change it a little with the technology today. We are tired of the thing already, and we are only half way through the year!
