Yeah i think you are right. Go for a few years without a nickname and then just implement Sioux because it will not die. Then just blame it on the fact that Norwegians are very stubborn

So the Hockey Jerseys are gonna be changed by next year?
This whole thing pisses me off!!!!! It had to happen when im in college! The only apperal i have has the logo on it. The other nickname better be good!! We probably wont even get a say in it and the Frat boys will come up with something stupid like the green Pandas or something. Stupid NCAA!!! -

Im not saying around the country but more here in the Grand Forks area. Like the nice ceremony they had at the Ralph this year and in the past. I know people arent gonna come up to someone randomly and ask about Sioux heritage. If the Vikings were not a logo for Minnesota i would rarely say that word but just by hearing that name all the time, i have read more into what Vikings did.

Hey Skippy don't worry about UND's conference membership, I am pretty sure UND still has more Division one championships than your mediocre mid major. I am pretty sure if your beloved Agriculture school was going to lose their nick name you wouldn't be saying that it's just a nickname. It's about cowering to the political correctness cabal. The school owes it to the people that donated the money for the lawsuit to put up a fight. The Fighting Sioux nickname is part of storied history and I am sick and tired of all the Bison fans suggesting that UND take the moral high ground and drop the name. Just wait till the PC Nazis come after your logo. This is where our country is going. You laugh now someday the finger will be pointed at you.
Thank You Goon! Fighting Sioux clothing is one of the highest selling in college sports. It's one of the most beautiful logos in the world. The loss of the logo will be another step towards people not knowing what the NA heritage is. If we change the name, few will know about the trIbes in North Dakota and i believe that its a huge step backward for Native Americans. I just dont get what they will gain out of the name change other than people mad about them changing it. Its sad. Really sad.

This vote is pretty meaningless, except to show what most people have known all along - most Indians approve of the name. The problem is not (nor has it ever been) with the tribes. The problem is the far left elitists. These people could care less about democracy. They think they are smarter than everyone else and need to "protect" the Native people who cannot determine what is in their own best interests.
Great Post. This is exactly what is going on. Select few that make this an issue and sadly majority doesnt count for anything anymore. Step out of your Hybrid cars and recycled houses and stop worrying.

I think the two week lapse between the regionals and the finals has put us on ice the last few years. I wish it would only be one week. But it would get in the way of precious Basketball. I HATE Basketball!!!
If Hak can find a way for the team to stay focused id say we would see another banner soon.
