    Is this the P5-G5 split I predicted several years ago? What shockwaves will be generated from this that will impact schools in all current Divisions/Subdivisions?

    You and several million others - hardly an unique take.

    Behind Nokotas, yes. But that one didn't survive the consultants.

    I suggest the powers-that-be change the name to "Fighting Scouts" with a Lewis and Clark Corps of Discovery themed logo(s).  "Fighting" is particularly appropriate in this case since the expedition was comprised of members of the US Army.  "Corps of Discovery" should also be used as secondary marking (on signage, uniforms, publications, merchandise, etc.).  This would be much more relevant to the state, as they spent more time in what would become North Dakota than in what would become any other state, and much more marketable.  Fun fact - the ND state highway that runs along the east and west sides of the Missouri River are designated "1804" and "1806", respectively, to commemorate the years Lewis and Clark went up the Missouri and came back on their return.

    Anyone else having buffering issues on NCHC.tv?

    NCHC.tv has not been stable for me at all - keep losing the stream and it picks back up sometimes much earlier in the game.

    Now that it is period break, of course it's rock solid....

    As I am in coastal South Carolina, the "Sioux Yeah Yeah" name would be a total sleeper name. Nobody would get it unless they are either a tribal member (highly unlikely), or are a UND sports fan (maybe even more unlikely??) But if a UND fan, it would definitely spawn an impromptu meeting!

    Sioux Ya Ya is a little shorter.

  5. Why is bussing deemed to be so much safer than flying?  Or is it really being used by the NC$$ as an excuse to reduce costs?  Is there really a quantifiable difference in risk that can justify ruining bracket integrity?  I’m sure they’ll also use “attendance” as a reason to ruin bracket integrity as well, which is the ultimate hypocrisy - more people is more risk, right?

  6. I had no issue going to nchc.tv on my phone browser and then using AirPlay to my Apple TV - I got in and out (my decision - not forced to by streaming issues) several times without incident.  Stream was strong without buffering or pixeling.  I had found that nchc.tv was much more stable than the app last year, and it seems it may be the case this year too.

    Five were killed. In 2016.

    But, what's I am seeing is BLM and Antifa living rent free in your head.

    In spite of way, way more evidence of atrocities carried out against left leaning groups and many times by the police, you cling onto those other situations that happened much more infrequently.

    The facts are there. But, you choose to ignore them.  Fake news in your minds because of your zombie like loyalty to an orange fool who cares nothing about any of us much less our country.  He does like to lie and line his pockets.  Maybe that's why he attracts the minority of folks like you?

    You would love some kind of revenge, wouldn't you?  Is that it?  You know, act out some perverse fantasy agsinst BLM or Antifa for your buddies in the sewing circle?

    It would be laughable if it wasnt so pathetic.

    Well, have fun in your fantasy world.  Maybe you'll see more videos and dream of shooting a water cannon at citizens or doing something even worse?

    George Floyd died because a cop, while being on video, laughed while putting his boot on his neck until he died.  You apparently don"t give a shi$.  You just wonder why these BLM people and others finally got fed up and are saying enough is enough.

    Maybe if you at least studied root cause analysis you might figure out why the streets have been filled with protesters.  But, I doubt that would happen.

    Btw, the macho bull&#036 routine doesn't work on me either. Lol

    That cop with his knee on George Floyd’s neck wouldn’t have been on the force if it weren’t for the police union.  Which party has an unwavering support of unions?  Why are there public employee unions at all?  Isn’t the government the ultimate source of good?  Why would anyone need protection from the government?  Is it hypocrisy to insist others submit to the benevolent will of government, yet feel the need to protect themselves from that very same government by unionizing?  Root cause - a result of that party’s positions - they need to own it, but they won’t.

    You need to understand that the government creates more problems than they ever solve.  Government solutions are a one size fits all which doesn't work.

    Indeed - the smarmy caption to the image in the post above would be more accurate if it read: "We've done everything we can think of, and all we do is make it worse".

    I asked for R ideas earlier in this thread and...crickets.  Except, of course, blaming folks for being poor.

    I just might be that not all problems can be solved or improved by government action -  or the corollary - there are limits to what government can do to remedy any specific problem.

    Isn't the first time it has happened and won't be the last.  Even outside of the athletic arena, many younger siblings will look at other colleges and go to other colleges because they don't want to follow in a older sibling's shadow.

    That said, I am not saying that is why SBD chose DU. However, it may have been a consideration.

    There’s never a good reason to choose DU.

  11. Kawaguchi was robbed.  Parise was robbed.  Lessard’s UMD team was 0-5 vs. Parise’s UND that season.  Not that head-to-head record should typically be considered, but 0-5 is too lopsided to ignore.  I believe UND also swept at Duluth the last series of the regular season to sew up the league title (and deny UMD).  Which would you rather have on your team?  No contest between Parise and Lessard - even uberhomer Ciskie would have rather had Parise that season.  Harder decision between Kawaguchi and Perunovich, but Kawaguchi’s timely scoring and character, to include his lack of diving (unlike others), make it a bit easier.

    Shouldn't the extremely busy news cycle and the "free" access to content about the pandemic be driving their page views through the roof right now?  And wouldn't that have a boom effect on ad revenue?

    I'm betting that one of the first expenses companies are reducing if not outright eliminating is advertisement.

  13. Why is the media not asking the obvious questions?  According to the Minnesota governor, 100,000 people in that state are expected to require intensive care because of the virus.  Right now there are 235 intensive care beds in the state.  Assuming the weekly average will be half the peak, that means in order for supply to meet peak demand, the event would last 100,000/235 x 2 = 850 weeks.  Clearly other solutions, such as a vaccine, should be viable long before then.  So then, what is the strategy?  How many intensive care beds will be added to cope with this crisis?  Again, let's do the math:  a crisis of 24 weeks duration would require 100,000/24 x 2 = 8,333 intensive care beds (an increase of 8,098 beds or over 3,300%).  A crisis of 12 weeks duration crisis would require 16,667 intensive care beds, and a 4 week crisis would require 50,000 of them.  At what number of intensive care beds is the capacity of available  professional medical personnel exceeded?  What happens if the spread happens more slowly than our new capacity to deal with it?  Do we further loosen social distancing restrictions in order to shorten the duration?  What happens if that becomes too effective (overwhelms care capacity)?  Again what is the strategy?  Is it to "flatten the curve" until a vaccine is available and distributed (likely to be until at least the end of the calendar year)?  Or is it to add as many intensive care beds as possible, then let 'er rip - with the idea than we've done all we could to prepare, and now we'll have to do the best we can?  I'm assuming these relative numbers are expected to be similar nationally.  It would be nice to get someone in the media to ask what should be obvious questions, instead of continuously actively trying to get their favorites into office.

    Spring sports, makes sense. Don’t know how it’d work for winter sports when essentially almost the entire season had been played. Granted, they are missing out on the tournament which is pretty damn big part to miss out on due to outside impact.

    I know the logistics of it wouldn’t be easy but it would’ve been better if the NCAA postponed the tournament indefinitely to leave some wiggle room as well as hope. Perfect opportunity to try campus hosted regionals again? Maybe instead of 4 regionals, do a East and West super regionals?

    As long as the NHL and all other hockey leagues are suspended, the players have no where to leave for.

    Wholeheartedly agree!!!

  15. I'm having trouble understanding how cancelling tournament games (NCHC, NCAA) where attendance is absent represents a meaningful mitigation of risk concerning the corona virus.  If it does, then we are in huge trouble since nothing has been done about much larger risks such as air travel, all forms of mass transportation, shopping malls, restaurants, bars, etc.  Since nothing has been done about these, the ending of the season smacks of grandstanding, window dressing, and empty symbolism ("we're not really doing anything, but at least we're seen to be doing something!").  Can you imagine?  If all forms of mass transit were shut down, the self proclaimed people that matter in the northeast would be lighting their hair on fire.

  16. South club lounge (end Sioux shoot at twice)

    ·         2 seats each night;

    ·         children admitted with adult;

    ·         "bar stool" (end of row) seating;

    ·         bench side of the ice - great seats;

    ·         2 free "adult" beverages per person (before drop of the puck);

    ·         includes use of parking pass;

    ·             in-seat drink service;

    ·             free pre-packaged popcorn, chips, etc. and canned pop throughout the game (while it lasts - usually something left at the end of the game, I believe);

    ·         another 2 standing room "seats" available (since the bar stool seats are the top row, all four in your party can be in   immediate proximity of one another);

    ·         $194 total for both seats, Friday.  $238 total for both sears, Saturday.

    NOTE - The Ralph is charging $40 on Friday and $49 on Saturday for GA tickets for this series - which may be sold out. I believe the Ralph charges $15 over an adult GA ticket for a SRO ticket (which have always been available inmy experience) - if you want one or more of these as well, it will be in addition to the prices listed above ($194 - Friday; $228 - Saturday), at cost. If you already have GA ticket,you can use that in order to gain admittance to the club as a "guest" (SRO) - one guest allowed per regular club seat, so you save at least $15 per SRO that way.

    PM me if interested. Thanks
