Program has been in "hospice" for many years. No excuse other than the AD won't seek a coach with some credentials and pay them.

Can't imagine what/who has caused a spike in gas prices.

With the Bison gone the pressure will be immense to have an outstanding season. A deep run in the playoffs at a minimum. Hope the guys are up to the task. Best of luck to this years team.

Agree, this consistent inconsistency is a prima donna attitude that I felt was all too prevalent over the last number of years. Let's get back to a lunch pail blue collar approach and give 100% all game long. I don't think any of the other top 5-6 teams is going to give a crap about what kind of accomplishments we've had in the past.

Let's be realistic. In any given year ND will produce maybe 1-3 legitimate D1 MBB players. Having 1/3 of the team ND kids is nuts if you really want to compete at mid major level. Recruiting needs to focus on MSP area, Milwaukee and Chicago burbs and perhaps Iowa. Otherwise nothing is going to change.

Some "experts" showing UND in Sioux Falls w UMD on the other side of that bracket. Don't like having to play them again. Also, would UND be ranked #1 or 2 wo the stupid loss to the Goophers?

It's hard to care when the BB program has been relegated to "just compete" in D1 rather than strive to win championships by the administration. The Betty was built too small and as an after thought to appease the BB community never intended as a mid major BB arena. The OLY ice sheet was a hockey overreach where the money could have been used for the VB and BB programs, you know hockey drives the bus. I grew up in Hyslop when it was the premier BB facility in the state. The Betty will never provide that experience for fans and as a recruiting tool it's worse than many high school programs gyms.

I don't think UNDs ego needs us to move up. Maybe if we won 6-8 FCS championships and got bored etc as NDSU has. If all the D3, D2, and FCS teams had these big egos there'd be even less stability in college football. After all it's a college pastime, not a financial life or death situation. Enjoy the game, not the stress envy.

I thought when the oly rink was built it was a stupid waste of money. If it's off limits due to some hockey camps that's even dumber. Use the space to improve UND programs.

I think it's more than that. Possibly all the distractions during the name change years took a toll when focus should have been on the D1 move. I don’t know. BB seems to have suffered the worst sadly. The AD position certainly hasn't been a strong point either.

I continue to ask the question.....to no one in particular....why, why is UND BB so far behind the other Dakota schools? What's different? Hockey for sure, but not so many years ago we were kicking their asses regularly and we had hockey then too. Someone needs to figure this out. As an alumnus that grew up in GF during the glory years it's damn embarrassing.

Bison look like athletes. Hawks look like we're trying to be. Outmanned and out arroganced by Bison. What a group of jerks.
